About this house rental
THE CONDO:
Our condominium has one bedroom and one bath. You may ski-in and ski-out. The unit has a queen bed in the bedroom. There is a queen sleeper sofa and a queen Murphy wall bed in the living room. The sleeping area in the living room can be closed off with a privacy curtain and makes a cozy place to sleep by the fireplace. The condo is very comfortable for four guests and we prefer not to rent to larger groups. These are nonsmoking accommodations and we do not allow pets. We are on the fourth floor with elevator access, a covered parking garage, and a deck. Our condominium is among the nicest and best equipped one bedroom units in Winter Park. You will find down comforters on the beds. The kitchen is fully equipped and was remodeled with Italian cabinets, German appliances, and CaesarStone counters. There is comfortable work space in the bedroom. The carpet is new. There is free wireless internet access in the condo. Parking is available for one vehicle and you may use the parking garage when space is available.
THE IRON HORSE RESORT:
The Iron Horse is located at the base of the mountain in the pine forest between the Winter Park and the Mary Jane sides of the ski area. The resort has an indoor-outdoor pool and two large hot tubs. We have a fitness center with a weight room, a variety of cardio machines and a steam room. There is an excellent ski shop on site. A short bridge attaches our building to the Corridor ski run. The Corridor run connects the base of Mary Jane with the base of Winter Park. If you are not skiing, the condo is a short walk or shuttle bus ride to the base village.
THE SKI AREA:
Colorado is famous for its world-class skiing. Winter Park is the third largest ski area in Colorado. The GORP guide to Colorado skiing says Winter Park’s terrain is "grandiose and varied." Winter Park offers three main peaks topped by a vast snowfield. Total skiable area is 3,081 acres which include 166 designated trails and 1,212 acres of off-piste terrain including Vasquez Cirque and glade skiing. Average snowfall in Winter Park is 314 inches per year.
We have a terrific variety of terrain: beginner areas, bowl skiing, trees and chutes. Mary Jane is consistently rated as having the best mogul skiing in North America.
The base of the area is at 9,000 feet. The summit is 12,060 feet. The runs are 55% expert, 37% intermediate/advanced and 8% beginner. There is a massive terrain park with half-pipe, rails and enormous jumps. There are also separate beginner and intermediate terrain parks. There is a gondola and 21 lifts including 2 High Speed Six Person Chairlifts, 6 High-Speed Express Quads, 4 Triple Chairlifts, 6 Double Chairlifts, 3 Surface Lifts, a rope tow and 3 Magic Carpets. The ski and boarding school is first-rate. The National Sports Center for the Disabled at Winter Park is the premier skiing and boarding program in the world for people with disabilities.
Winter Park has long been a favorite of Colorado natives. For the destination skier, we offer fine lodging, tremendous skiing and a family friendly atmosphere at a price substantially less than you would pay in Vail or Aspen.
SUMMER:
What can you do at a ski area during the summer? You can mountain bike on over 600 miles of trails. The ski area has the longest alpine slide in Colorado. The village also offers miniature golf, disc golf, climbing walls and chair lift rides. We are close to golf courses (Pole Creek, Grand Lake, Grand Elk and Granby Ranch Headwaters). There are mountain bike races, music festivals, rodeos, boating, sailing, river rafting, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, climbing, balloon tours, and hot springs pools. Rocky Mountain National Park is nearby. If you like to fly fish, there are 20 miles of gold medal trout water on the Colorado River about half an hour from the condo. Winter Park, the Frasier Valley and Grand County are gorgeous and relaxed in the summer.

During the eighteen years we have been renting we have had consistently happy guests. Thanks for considering us for your ski-in, ski-out Winter Park lodging.

We had a great time at the condo. One of the amenity we utilized was ski locker room.It was nice not having to carry our ski equipment back and forth to the condo.
The kitchen was updated and well equipped. The beds where conferrable. The bathroom is a bit outdated but clean and serviceable. We will stay there again when we go back to Winter Park.

Great location with quick access to slopes. Hot tub and pool are very nice.

The condo was great! Great location, full kitchen that was well stocked, and great communication with Dale! Thank you so much!

True ski-in/ski-out condo that was perfect for a family vacation. Stayed the week with my daughter and her friend and they loved the coziness and privacy of their sleeping area and I enjoyed having a room to myself!
Dale was very responsive and super nice.
Loved the upscale coffee maker!

We really enjoyed our stay here! Great location for ski in and ski out, also close walk to resort restaurants in the evening. Very convenient to have ski rental in lower level of building. The condo was well stocked with everything we needed and very clean.

Great Ski in/out location and the place had everything we needed for our stay! Definitely would stay again.

This ski in/ski out one bedroom condo was perfect for our 3 week ski vacation. The condo is exceptionally clean and nicely appointed. The kitchen is very well equipped with upscale appliances. There are locker rooms to store your skies just inside the door where the walkway is that leads to the corridor where you can ski to the gondola. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

This rental property has everything you need! Parking is easy, kitchen is well stocked, the Iron Horse property amenities are easy to use, and the location is on the mountain. No parking/driving to ski needed! If you are a light sleeper, the only thing to note is that this unit is next to the elevator so there is some noise when the elevator is in use. The owner, Dale, has INCREDIBLE communication. We would 100% stay at Dale’s property again!

The unit was clean, well appointed and met our general expectations.
It is a very short indoor walk over to the 'ski-in' launch point for the complex, which is awesome.
For spring break Winter Park was actually not super crowded, which was also awesome. I strongly recommend this property.

We love this condo - roomy and comfortable. Cannot beat the location! Dale is the best host we have ever had - responsive, caring, and helpful. We will be back soon!

My family/friends stayed here, and reported an excellent time. I was supposed to go but had to back out at the last minute due to family medical issues. Dale was very responsive to their needs, when any arose. 2 adults/2 children. The adults shared the bedroom bed, the kids each had a pull out bed in the living room. They enjoyed the hot tub and pool on site. The ski equipment rentals in the building were super convenient! They were able to ski out, but skiing back in was not possible due to the slope of the road, so plan to walk back or drive, park at lift area and drive back. We would definitely stay here again. Clean, well equipped and close to lifts. Thank you Dale!

We were very pleased with this unit during our Winterpark ski vacay. The unit was clean and exactly as described. The kitchen was well stocked and even provided a full spice rack. Laundry, hot tub and gym facilities were nice as well. The room was quiet and there is a beautiful view as well to look at while drinking morning coffee. Building was secure and we loved the ski locker area. We hope to stay again when we visit next time. Many thanks!

Love the location. 2nd time staying in Dales condo. It’s perfect for me and my wife.
Condo was great ….so was the skiing!

We had 3 adult men staying in the condo. The bedroom, Murphy bed, and pullout couch sleeping accommodations worked for us. There was plenty of room after folding up the couch and Murphy bed in the morning.
There is a nice view of the Corridor trail down to the gondola. Access to the slopes is outstanding and the ski storage rooms next to the catwalk simplify the process considerably.
We had a car and accessed the underground parking garage.
This is the second consecutive year staying here and we would do so again.

Location, Location, Location!
We stayed for 6 nights and skied for 5 days. Outstanding location. We skied down to the gondola every morning and skied back to the condo from Mary Jane for lunch everyday. We walked to the Winter Park base area for several dinners. The condo is beautiful and loaded with high-end amenities.

Enjoyable
Owner was responsive. We had a great time. The location was fantastic, but the bathroom needs renovation; the kitchen was a good start. Linen needs a refresh ie: new pillows, towels, sheets. The Wi-Fi worked well. I really liked the curtains.

Stylish and cozy condo
Very stylishly decorated and clean condo. All new European appliances. Nice view from windows. Well stocked kitchen. One note - if you are sensitive to noise you may not appreciate elevator noises as this condo is right next to elevator. Did not bother me, but my wife had to sleep on murphy bed. So it is actually a feature :)

Perfect location!
The Iron Horse is the perfect location for a ski in /ski out vacation! This was our third time renting in the complex although our first in this particular unit. Dale was very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. The condo was well stocked with supplies for cooking your own meals which we did for breakfast and dinners. There was some noise from the elevator (we stayed in another unit one year and could notice the same) but by late evening the building was very quiet and it did not impede bedtime/sleep. Our unit was very comfortable and clean, my 4 star cleaning rating reflects common areas/hallways that needed attention and should not be a reflection on this unit itself! Dale has done a great job of updating the unit. The ski rental shop on the first floor is super convenient if you need to rent skis and the ski locker is so great for storing skis at the end of the day. We had a fantastic time and look forward to coming back !

Perfect small group ski-in/out property
I had a group of 5 guys stay, and the unit worked well for our group. I wouldn’t recommend going with a larger group than 5 in this unit, but between the Queen in the bedroom, Queen Murphy bed, and pull-out sofa, the space was plenty big for 5 adults.
Kitchen and bathrooms were modern, and I liked how the unit had a ton of hooks to hang ski jackets, snow pants, etc. Accessing the first floor garage was easy as well.
Getting to the slopes was very easy, I was very pleased that you could walk from the unit to the mountain just by walking down the hall and up a single flight of stairs. Additionally, the ski shop on the first floor could not have been any closer to this unit, it was literally right down the elevator. Overall I cannot really imagine a much better location if you are at WP during ski season.

We were lucky to stay in Iron Horse building for our 4 days of skiing in Winter Park! The building is very convenient with indoor garage, skis lockers , ski rentals, and ski in/out...especially for families with little kids! The apartment was fully furnished with a nice view on the forest, nice bed, all you need to cook in the kitchen. Dale was very helpful and answered all the time quickly to our messages on the cell phone. We will be back!

Ski in/out still the best
We liked being close to the slopes. Obviously 5 adults was challenging but the Appartment had enough bed so it worked fine. Everything was as expected. Thanks for having us.

great place
Just like the other reviews say. The owner Glen is always there for you if you have any questions. The unit is clean and has a nice view. Overall great experience. Nice kitchen too. Plenty of room for a family of 5.

Easy Ski In and Out
This is a great place for a couple or perhaps a couple with a child. It is small but quite adequate space-wise. The kitchen has the needed equipment to cook meals. It is very easy to access the ski mountain both coming and going which is especially handy now as the on-mountain restaurants are closed so lunch has to be in the apartment. The owner is very responsive. We have stayed in this apartment two years in a row now.

Excellent host, great condo - we will be back!
Dale is an amazing host - very thoughtful, helpful and responsive! The condo is clean, roomy, and equipped with everything we need. We love the view and the up-scale kitchen. We have been renting several condos in different Colorado resorts over the years. This is definitely our favorite - we will certainly rent again when we come back to Winter Park. Thank you Dale for being such a great host and sharing your beautiful and comfy condo with us!
