Staff were outstanding. Food was exciting and extravagant. The location is fantastic for hikes safaris and temple visits. And the resort is a small and enjoyable space to relax in between.
Chairs in restaurants were fun looking but uncomfortable, food was extremely expensive when compared to local prices.

Beautiful location and views! Stayed in the treehouse and it was a very special experience. The food was also delicious and not badly priced.
Everything was great.

Everything! The view and the setting is so beautiful and relaxing. The pool looking out at the two rocks is amazing. When we arrived wild elephants were walking around behind the hotel too. All the staff are so friendly and nice

We had an absolutely amazing stay here for our honeymoon - one of our favourite places in the whole of Sri Lanka. The team went out of their way to make us feel special with thoughtful surprises at every moment. The location is also exceptional, and the food delicious.
Small detail, but the sun umbrellas were broken and it made the poolside area feel a bit dilapidated, which was a contrast to the rest of the property.

The rooms were fantastic - spacious, a really comfortable big bed and supplied with everything you could need. The pool area is great for a relief from the heat. We went up Sigiriya early morning as you can walk (to both rocks) from the hotel. The owner and staff are so thoughtful. We really appreciated them telling us about the history of the area, and spending time chatting to us. They were always going above and beyond. The food also was delicious, and we ate in their restaurant a number of times. We especially enjoyed the Sri Lankan breakfast. The location is utterly beautiful - The peaceful noises of nature were so lovely to be around. I spent hours each day just watching the birds. We loved it so much we extended our stay.

The location of this property is second to none. Sit on your terrace or by/in the pool and gaze on the Lion’s rock and Pidurangala - breathtaking!
The staff are the best; discreet but very friendly.
The food was excellent and they catered wonderfully for our preferences.
The hotel can arrange all manner of transport and suggestions for adventures. But to be within walking distance of the rocks has to be the icing on the cake!!

The rooms are lovely. They’re clean, spacious and comfortable. The resort is beautiful with fantastic views of both Sigiriya and Pidurangala which are easy to get to. The owners and the staff are fantastic! Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and fun! They can arrange transfers, trips, whatever you need. The food is amazing! We had the Sri Lankan curry for dinner and the Sri Lankan breakfasts and they were superb! The cocktails were fabulous too! Also, best wine selection we’ve found in Sri Lanka. Special shout out to the restaurant manager who was also our driver and tour guide! We had a great stay here and would definitely return!

Incredible location with views of both Lions Rock and Pidurangula. We loved that we could walk to Pidgurangula walk (although not at night due to the elephants, which was exciting that they could be so close). The property itself was beautifully done and the owners and staff were so lovely and accommodating. The owners even helped arrange for a transfer to Kandy and for the driver to assist us in getting train tickets for the Kandy to Ella train.
Nothing! Everything was amazing!

The owners were very friendly and helpful, contacted us ahead of our drive to guide us on getting there because google maps usually gets it wrong! The staff was great and polite, the chef is very talented and served us delicious food at every meal. The room was spacious and the hotel location is perfect - secluded and yet, within 10 minutes of the Sigiriya rock! My girlfriend forgot her Dyson hairdryer in the room and the owner simply couriered it to our hotel in Galle.

Everything. The rooms were immaculate, clean and so tastefully decorated. The swimming pool was refreshing and not over chlorinated, the service was impeccable. The food was sublime. We were treated to delicious local Sri Lankan meals made vegan just for us. I don’t think I’ve ever tasted such good food. The location is perfect with both Pidurangala and Sigiriya Rock in view outside our window. The bird life is next level here. This was a piece of heaven and we were very sad to leave.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

What an awesome place! Very welcoming, from staff to owners. All doing their best to make the stay as pleasant and meaningful as possible. Service is outstanding but also the rooms, resort grounds and breakfasts are excellent. Compliments also for the awesome cocktails that are both the well known ones and special creations by the cocktail artisan. Like his signature King Gin. The staff can help you tailor made day trips, to fit personal preferences.

Great family-run style resort for relaxation in amazing surrounding nature and great views of Sigiriya. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfast could be a bit improved having more variety.

We really enjoyed our stay at sigiriya kings resort. Set in the rice paddies, the location is amazing with view of both lions head and pidurangala. It’s easy to explore the surrounding area. The rooms are spacious with large clean bathrooms, and the staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. The property is well maintained. Pool was large and clean. Breakfast was good. The owners were super friendly and always on site to offer their help and advice.
Prices were probably more expensive compared to other similar accommodation but I think you pay for the intimacy as they are a small property.
All the prices for food were in USD and again more expensive than other restaurants/hotels but quality is good so potentially worth it.

The highlight of our stay had to be breakfast in the treehouse. That was just the highlight. It is a beautiful property locally owned and managed. Our room looked out towards Siririya Rock. The rooms were spacious and well conceived. The staff was great and conscientious.
A bit overpriced.
Prices were in usd rather than local currency.
Some though not all of the menu items had rather tiny portions for their cost.

The staff at King's Resort are top class. They are all very friendly, genuine and attentive without being intrusive or over the top.
The location and setting is very remote and peaceful. The view of both rocks is beautiful. King's Resort is totally surrounded by nature.
The food was excellent. On our first evening we had the chef's specially prepared Sri Lankan dinner and it was exceptional.
The pool area was perfect for lounging and relaxing, the views were spectacular.
The staff took care of our tuk tuks for sight-seeing and the safari driver that they organised for us was excellent.
The staff organised a surprise treehouse breakfast for us on our last morning.
Overall, we would highly recommend King's Resort Sigiriya, top class staff and accomodation and excellent value for money.
We spent a lot of time at the resort during our 3 night stay. We only ate at the resort and we thought that the menu would benefit from some more snack and lunch options for during the day!

Absolutely wonderful experience.
I have stayed in over 200 hotels in the last 4 years, but this one tops the list.
What made it so wonderful was every single person working there. So incredibly friendly and helpful with absolutely everything and anything. We felt more than welcome and a part of Sigiriya when we were there.
I absolutely recommend the hotel food, the chef prepared some amazing Sri Lankan food!
The rooms were nice and big and clean.
The hotel itself was very nice clean and peaceful.
I would recommend this to anyone and everyone close to Sigiriya.
A very small minus was that not much was to be done late at night, but that didn't really matter, we slept early, due ti the peace and quiet.

The food is exceptional, the rooms are spacious with view of sigiriya rock. A special word for the chef - we were vegetarians and the dinner and breakfast which they served on both days was delicious. There was a small play area for our 2 year old as well, which she loved

Facilities not that much..and price of hotel little bit expensive..also while am having the complimentary breakfast i ordered one water i thought it will be free as i already have complimentary breakfast so for sure the water would be free but i surprised in the checkout they added to the bill

The staff was very helpful with transportation. The room and the bathroom were very clean and spacious. And the restaurant had nice food as well. Unlike other hotels in Sri Lanka they didn’t have any complaint about card payment.
No complaints at all

Exceptional service. The staff couldn't do enough for us. They helped me plan my partner's birthday, baked a cake and wrote a surprise birthday message on the bed. The deluxe rooms are 5* and the views/location unbeatable for a weekend getaway. Thank you!
4.5
We loved the place, the view and the friendliness of the people.
From the pool area (actually from all over the place) you have a perfect view on Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangal Rock. Breakfast was very nice and we enjoyed our stay very much.
If you are light sensitive during night, then room 101 might not be a good choice. The outside light in the pool area will shine into your room and even with the curtain closed the room will not be dark at all (was not a problem for us though).
Prices for food and drinks at the restaurant are in USD and approx 4times higher than at any other place in Sigiriya we have been to for dinner and drinks these days.

I write this review as I sit in the hotel's treehouse, kicking myself for only booking the hotel for a night. Whilst there is a list of things that's caused this turmoil, I think it is best to start with the one thing that makes this place stand out more than its location and out of this world views - the people. Everyone we have met have been so engaging, so considerate, lots of attention to detail, they truly go above and beyond to take care of you and give you the most wonderful experience. They arranged a surprise candlelight dinner for us (which we missed as we headed straight to bed, unaware of what had been laid out for us:-(). But they then surprised us with an a la carte breakfast arranged in the treehouse. I can't praise the hotel enough. The bedroom had stunning views from the bed and the bathroom. The rainfall shower was pure bliss after a long day in the sun. The bed was so comfortable, it helped ease the jetlag in no time. The courtyard - where do I begin! We woke up at sunrise and walked around, surrounded with nothing else but the sounds of the birds and the distinctive song of the wild peacocks. The owner kindly offered to take some photos of us by the waterlilies and these photos sealed what has been a truly wonderful experience, in without a doubt one of the very best hotel we've ever stayed in. Nothing can fault this place, just make sure you stay long enough to soak up the wonders of Sigiriya kings resort!
LThe only negative about this place is that it's set exceptionally high standards for the Sri Lankan hospitality we will now expect for the rest of our holidays. We will be back, and so will our parents who have been inspired by our photos and reviews. Thank you to Kalika, Preetika, Sameer, Ron and the whole SKR team for setting us off on such a wonderful start to our holiday.

The location was amazing, the views were incredible. The staff were so so helpful, all of them. The food was great, a great selection, and we are vegetarians. Also, a very sustainable resort, from the metal straws to the recycling of glass water bottles and the use of homegrown produce grown within their grounds. Highly recommend this place :)
Nothing.

It's the most luxurious place I've stayed in Sri Lanka, the facilities, hotel room and location outstanding. The staff is the most welcoming and one of the best services I've ever experienced. The restaurant, top quality food. Overall an amazing stay at a very well managed hotel.
