Very kind hosts and great value for money!

Very clean, comfortable rooms. Very kind hosts, who offered us to stay in the bigger family room when the AC in the double room had to be repaired.

Peaceful Homestay

Quiet location, comfortable bed, spacious room and huge bathroom, nice patio sitting area outside the room, excellent Wi-Fi (worked well for a Zoom meeting), good breakfast served in a lovely patio.

We got a tuktuk to pick us up for the dawn hike up Sigiriya for half the price quoted by the host. Although listing said there was an electric kettle, it was not in our room. We had to ask for a pot of hot water each time we needed some which was less convenient.

The place to be

If you want to deep dive into Sri Lankan culture, get to know local people, and learn more about how people live here.. then you have to stay with indika and Malaka. The family is friendly, kind and always available for questions. They took us into their home and we loved it. Stay here and enjoy!!

Tolle Gastgeber und schöne Unterkunft

Die Gastgeber sind super freundlich und haben uns bei der Begrüßung direkt Optionen für unsere Aktivitäten angeboten. Unter anderem TukTuks für uns organisiert oder die Bus-Verbindungen nach Polonnaruwa etc erklärt. Abends haben sie sich nochmal erkundigt, ob alles passt. Sehr höflich und kümmernd! Das Frühstück war super abwechslungsreich und sehr lecker. Am Abreisetag konnten wir nicht Frühstücken, weil wir einen frühen Bus genommen haben: da bekamen wir dann ein lunchpaket: einwandfrei! Das Anwesen und das Zimmer sind gepflegt und ringsherum Tiere und Pflanzen. Die Lage ist ruhig aber fußläufig alles was man braucht erreichbar: Supermarkt, Restaurants, Bushaltestelle und natürlich die Felsen!!! Das Zimmer ist gemütlich und hat eine Klimaanlage: mehr braucht es nicht. Toll fanden wir das Moskitonetz über dem Bett.

Zu meckern gibt es immer was, aber uns haben die Punkte nicht wirklich gestört. Dennoch für andere: Im Bad riecht es dauerhaft etwas modrig, uns belastet so etwas nicht. Der Warm-Wasser-Aufbereiter schafft nur eine kleine Menge Wasser aufzuwärmen: also Menschen mit langen Haaren brauchen Geduld… aber im Urlaub hat man die ja. Es gab zweimal einen Stromausfall im Dorf, aber dafür können die Gastgeber nichts! Unter dem Dach des Zimmers wohnt eventuell ein Affe oder ein anderes Tier, das man ab und an krabbeln hört: wir fanden das belustigend. Die Zimmer sind hellhörig, aber wir haben einen tiefen Schlaf (für Menschen mit leichtem Schlaf eventuell relevant). Es gibt nur eine Steckdose bei der unser Adapter gepasst hat, die anderen waren ein anderes System. Aber dann lädt man an der Steckdose, an der der Adapter passt… Insgesamt empfehlen wir die Unterkunft aber jedem wärmstens, immer wieder gerne!

Best homestay in Sri Lanka

- All staff are so friendly, polite and helpful. Malaka in particular helps you shape your itinerary and his wife and everyone on site are lovely - breakfast is AMAZING and changes ever so slightly each morning for variety - Gardens are beautiful and relaxing - Rooms are extremely clean and spacious - Location is perfect

- WiFi is very patchy but it’s a minor detail. Otherwise this place is a 10/10

Wir kommen gerne wieder! :)

Die Unterkunft war sehr geräumig und äußerst sauber. Die Gastgeberin hat uns nach der Ankunft einen leckeren Saft angeboten und jeden Morgen gab es ein anderes, leckeres Frühstück.

Würden sofort wieder kommen, 11 von 10 Punkte!

Die Lage ist sehr gut, lion‘s rock ist zu Fuss leicht erreichbar, pidurangala in 5 minuten mit Tuktuk und auch sehr nahe am Zentrum von Sigiriya. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, Tuktuk‘s und Taxi‘s zu besten Preisen organisiert. Das Zimmer ist gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber, das Bett war sehr angenehm. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und sehr sehr lecker!

Guest housse familiale au top

Cette guest est juste formidable, les propriétaires sont adorables, la guest est bien placée et est surtout très très propre, un petit jus frais vous accueil, la terrasse est juste appréciable et le petit-déjeuner au top le meilleur pour nous jusqu'à maintenant.Tout est à proximité, transport,restaurant, laundry à 5 minutes à pied. rapport qualité prix à recommander.

Ne donnez pas votre linge

Le propriétaire est agréable

Nous avons donné notre linge, ils ont mis un point noir au marqueur sur chacun d eux. Ces points ne partent plus , les habits tous habimés. Cheveux dans le petite dejeuner. Pas de pression dans la douche

It was very comfortable, the location is great, the people are amazing.

The room was clean and very comfortable. The morning breakfast was filling with lots of local delicacies including a variety of fruits. The hosts were very kind and helpful. The location is great with happening places in close proximity. The value for money is high as it came full of amenities as in its name.

Nothing to complain about. It was overall a great experience.

Peaceful ☺️

Beautiful setting in lush almost jungle like surroundings. Our room was lovely, with ac and a mozzie net. Bathroom was clean and had soap and towels. Great value for money. Breakfast was lovely with wild monkeys popping by. Short walk from shops, restaurants and Tuk-tuk. Very close to Lions Rock. Would highly recommend and wish we had stayed longer.

Super Aufenthalt

Das Person hat uns sehr gastfreundlich empfangen. Das Zimmer war schön und groß, das Mosquitonetz und das Bett waren super! Das Bad war ebenfalls groß, die Dusche hatte hervorragenden Wasserdruck. Das Frühstück war ausgiebig und sehr gut, nach unserem Besuch am Lion's Rock genau das richtige!

Saubere Unterkunft mit guter Lage in Sigiriya

Die Besitzer waren freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war üppig und die Auswahl war sehr groß. Das Frühstück wird auf der Terrasse vor dem Zimmer serviert. Die Zimmer waren sauber, ein Moskitonetz, Klimaanlage und Ventilator waren vorhanden und es gab warmes Wasser in der Dusche. Fußläufig sind viele Restaurants sowie die Bushaltestelle (ca. 5 Minuten) zu erreichen. Auch zum Sigiriya Rock (25 Minuten) und Pidurangala (45 Minuten) kann man laufen (Nicht bei Dunkelheit. Uns wurde mehrmals gesagt, dass das wegen der Elefanten zu gefährlich sei).

在獅子岩超級難忘的一晚

超級無敵棒的住宿地點，走路15分鐘就可以到Sigiriya。房間空間非常的大，浴室也是好大啊! 老板人還超好的，知道我們晚餐還沒吃，偷偷抱給我們一家米粒廚房! 神好吃的啊! 可能是附近最好吃的餐廳! 大推這間飯店還有餐廳!

Very good

The place is great. The room is spacious, very clean and I love that there's an outdoor area. Location of the property is also close to where the restaurants are- which is very convenient.

If you are a girl traveling alone, read this! It took me weeks to write this review because I wasn't sure about writing the cons. Actually, the only con I have, but would be the reason for me not staying in this property anymore. The owner made me feel uncomfortable few times- he showed up at night in my room at night wearing only a towel (??) to advise me about something, but it honestly felt very weird. Unfortunately, was not a single episode. One other morning, I was late to get my 5am tuktuk, rush into my room to get changed, and he again knocked on my door with very random convo- again, with a towel only. Another episode is that I open the door at night to the let a bug out to find him in front of the door- to which I scream, because I wasn't expecting someone there. Also found him starring at me in front of the property when saying goodbye to a friend. I mean, I know cultural habits are different, but I'm Sri Lanka for a month now, and nothing vaguely similar has happened. Every owner has been very respectful and professional. So, if you are traveling alone, I would not recommend this place.

The owner was super friendly and helpful. He helped us arrange the safari to see the elephants. Huge breakfast, comfy bed. I got some extra teas while I was sick during my stay. Overall a great homestay. I would totally stay again!

Good location, quiet, but lacks warm welcome.

Location is good: quiet place. Hosts weren't too friendly, seemed to be rushed. Bed & airco are both good. Mosquito net is provided. Breakfast can be arranged after you visit the rocks.

Lovely place to stay in Sigiriya, the entrance to the rock is easy to reach, and a great spot to explore the whole area with a scooter. Very quiet, nearby good and friendly restaurants. The breakfast in the guesthouse was prepared by the lovely family running the place, yummy and abundant! Bonus: views of the rock while enjoying the morning breakfast from our terrace. We can highly recommend this place

The staff was amazing, very helpful and friendly. The host woke up at 5 a.m. to bring us to see the sunrise. Beds were comfortable, location was amazing, very close to the entrance to the lion rock. Breakfast was tasty.

To turn on hot watter was a bit tricky and wifi was not the best.
