My friends and I stay here every year because it’s so convenient to the harbor, restaurants and a walk or shuttle to the town. The shuttle service was new this year since it shut down in 2020. I am happy this is back again! The house is always well stocked with items we need. I’d recommend bringing an extra roll of paper towels as we go through quite a bit. There are 6 ladies who stay in this house and we always manage with one bathroom! The back screened in porch is wonderful.

Cottage had everything we needed although kitchen applicances could use some updating.

We love staying at this cottage! The kitchen is well stocked, the screened-in porch is wonderful. Within walking distance of our favorite restaurants. We had a great weekend and look forward to our next visit!

This is my second year staying at the house. I go every year to Rock hall MD for a ladies fishing trip. The house is spacious and really has everything we need to stay comfortably. We do wish there was another bathroom or half bath but the bathroom that they have is very large and easy enough to double up while getting washed up or makeup and hair. We spent a lot of time on the back screened in porch. We also love the location because we can walk to the restaurants and the town pool and harbor.

We wanted a change of scene for Thanksgiving this year and this cottage was perfect. The three of us cooked together in the large, well-equipped kitchen and enjoyed reading and watching movies in the comfortable living room. We all slept well and appreciated the spacious, new bathroom. At the end of the day, we were treated to the most spectacular sunsets imaginable, only a short walk from the cottage. Although the weather was unusually warm for Thanksgiving, I wished it were warmer so we could've spent more time on the large screen porch. It's a sweet cottage and I've recommended to a friend already!

This was perfect for our family. Loved the updated bathroom, very spacious, thick towels, good hot water. Beds were comfortable. Large, well-supplied kitchen. Lovely screened porch was a great space for eating and relaxing outside with the dogs. Great location, within walking distance of our 2 favorite restaurants. We had stayed here many years ago and we’re happy it was available for our trip this year.

The Cottage was wonderful. Incredibly clean, welcoming, and comfortable for a weekend getaway from the city. Walkable to waterman’s crab house, which has great live music and seafood. Also walkable to the Main Street for coffee and breakfast. Overall, a great stay.

We could not have been happier with this house. Beautifully decorated and appointed, and across the street from the quiet harbor. Very peaceful. The house had everything we needed for our Rock Hall adventure. Will definitely come again.

It was extremely well equipped. Had everything we needed.
Property manager was very responsive and helpful. Having lived in Chestertown for 11 years we were well acquainted with the area and loved being in Rock Hall. We would live to stay there again.

I really enjoyed the accommodations at the Oysterman Cottage!! The cottage was immaculate and completely decorated in a nautical theme which is so appropriate since Rock Hall is a small fishing town!! Also, loved the screened porch for reading and enjoying breakfast and dinner!! Thanks again for a wonderful stay in Rock Hall!!

My friends come to Rock Hall every year for a weekend. This was the first time staying at this particular house. It had everything we needed for the weekend. The back porch was wonderful!
An additional bathroom would be nice but we made it work. We had 6 ladies on the house. We plan to book this house again.

This is our 2nd time staying at this cottage. Each time the home was clean and well stocked and did have start-up supplies for guests. It is conveniently located and within walking distance to marina, restaurants, bay, etc. We enjoyed sitting and eating on the peaceful, screened-in back porch that overlooks a large tree shaded backyard. The host was also accommodating with a special request we had. It is also a plus that it is pet friendly and there was no evidence that any pets had been there prior to our arrival. So, if you have a pet or not, this is a lovely place to stay. Since we have family in the area, we will continue to stay here during our family visits.

I was staying here with my husband, mom and two friends for the waterman's triathlon weekend, with one of us racing saturday and one on sunday. this house was a perfect home base for our group, located right on the run course with easy access to the swim start. House was clean and comfortable and owner/management communication was easy and clear.

The outside of this home is well kept and the location is perfect. One of the reasons I chose to stay at this property was the mention of extra cleaning protocols due to Co-vid. Perhaps because my stay was late in the summer season, but I found neither the shower, mirror, microwave or stove was shiny clean which caused me to wonder about the areas that weren't so visible. Generally, premier hosts provide starter soaps in the bathroom, up-to-date guest information in the binder, and a empty closet for guests clothes. This cottage has two bedrooms but just one closet to be shared between the owner's clothes and guests, which I found inconsistent with providing extra cleaning practices due to co-vid. Be aware that the information about wi-fi access provided by VRBO email may not not match what's in the guest binder (my experience).

Wonderfully situated cottage. Just a few yards from marina and about 10-15 minute walk to small beach and 30 minute drive to a larger beach. A few great restaurants within walking distance, including great seafood (Ford’s, Waterman’s, Harbor Shack), pizza (Anchor and Plow) and ice cream. Small grocery store and local food market so didn’t have to drive much. Amazing birdwatching, hikes and kayaking. A terrific place to get away and unplug. The house was very clean and well-stocked. Very nice closed in porch for bug-free outdoor dining.

The property has been renovated with exceptional finishing touches. A truly lovely space. We were initially concerned about the small square footage from our large home, but we didn't need to be. The space is masterfully designed and completely functional for a single mom and her 2 children, plus the two dogs. Sailing for 2 days with Captain Mark Einstein at Blue Crabs was the ultimate peak of our vacation. The kitchen is well stocked. The dishwasher is hard to close but if you hold it for a couple of minutes it will lock and run. The property is well maintained by lawn service. We would like to return for future vacations.

We came to Rock Hall for a family reunion and so spent minimal time and ate no meals in the rental. It is a quaint, clean home in a great location.

This charming cottage is located in a very convenient spot. Walking distance to the beach, pool, restaurants and Main Street for shopping. The interior had plenty of space for our family of four & our lab. Well stocked kitchen and bath with a grill out back. Our kids are looking forward to a return!

Me and my girlfriend came down to get away for a few days for her birthday. The neighborhood is one of those neighborly places where everyone waves. We brought our dogs, which was nice to be able to do. The area is very quiet, so if you're looking for more action, this probably isn't the place (hence 4/5 stars). But if you are looking for a quiet, friendly place, this is the one. The house is clean and comfortable and has a newly redesigned bathroom with a double shower. It is a block away from the Chesapeake Bay and two of the local favorite dining spots are a short walk away. We took a sailboat cruise and got some great sunset pics. Most of the activities lead you to the Chesapeake. As a side note, we left our computer charger there and the owner shipped it back to us right away! Overall it was a nice, short getaway and we enjoyed our stay.

We had a little trouble finding restaurants that were open. It seems Tuesday and Wednesday are popular days for restaurants to be closed in early September plus COVID restrictions also somewhat limited our options. The town is very quiet and we got plenty of R&R. Be advised boating is the main attraction here. Our experience eating dinner at Waterman's Crab Shack was so good, we ate there both nights. We walked a few trails at Eastern Neck Refuge snd were glad we had brought insect repellent. The trails and walkways were well maintained. The cottage was as described. It was very well stocked and nicely appointed.

This cottage is a real gem. It is beautifully decorated in classic sea side colors. We loved the location..a short walk to Waterman's is just one of its great advantages. Rock Hall has fond memories for my husband, because his family kept a boat there when he was young. It was so nice to be able to bring our dog along. He loved his daily walks and drives around town.

The house is easy to find and the location is as described. the marina and waterfront are across the street. The house was as clean as you could possibly expect in a vacation rental and fully stocked. I brought things I did not need. My disabled son was with me. He uses a wheel chair when away from home. There are 3 steps up to the doorway plus a 3 inch threshold; not a problem for me to help him up. Inside there is a lazy boy in the living room where he enjoyed tv. The front porch has comfortable arm chairs surrounded by roses and hydrangea. The atmosphere is quiet and private. Because there are no arm chairs at the dining table, he used his wheelchair for meals. The bathroom is accessible enough for him and I brought a plastic bath chair for him to use in the tub, just like at home. the beds and bedding are new and fresh with good support. All electronics, cable, wifi and so on are excellent. There is a real sand beach nearby. We were tired from many days of travel and found this to be a good rest. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We stayed in the large house on Bayside Ave not the house pictured above. It was Very Spacious with plenty of room to sleep and relax. With room specific temperature control. Right near the waterfront. Within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and the marinas. Would definitely recommend this place!

My wife and I with our little pet friend spent the weekend at this cottage. It was cozy and modern, very quiet and romantic place. I couldn't figure out how to make the cd player to work, and the pots need an upgrading, but aside from these little stuff the stay helped to make our relationship stronger. Jim was great in getting everyone arranged fast and easy.
5.0 / 5.0
This unpretentious cottage was the perfect match for the harbor town of Rock Hall. My wife and I were looking for a very quiet week with minimal need for the car. The overall comfort of the home made it easy to spend time indoors. The large eat-in kitchen contained just about every appliance and utensil we needed, and the nicer than usual selection of plates, glasses and mugs were a plus. Location was perfect: a two-minute walk to the Harbor Shack restaurant and bar at the nearest marina, five minutes to Waterman's Crab House at another marina. Even Main Street and the wifi coffee shop Rock Java was a leisurely 20 minute walk, although the cottage owner was in the process of arranging for internet access at the property.
Two nights we were joined by another couple, very good friends with whom we have vacationed many times in the past. The layout of the bedrooms and the single bathroom might have been awkward had we not been so used to each other, as the bathroom was only accessible from the one bedroom. But Rock Hall is a sailing town, so those used to boating should have no trouble with the situation.
All in all the cottage was the perfect place for our purposes. We would return in a heartbeat.

This is our third visit to Rock Hall, our first at this cottage. The location is PERFECT. You can see the bay, the bait and tackle shop is about 100 yards away (cold beer and great souvenirs) and restaurants as well as activities are a stones throw away.
This cottage had everything we needed, and a few perks we discovered after arriving such as dozens of books, CD's and a tandem bike! The cottage is very clean and well maintained. Super cute! Even the girl who is the housekeeper is a gem as we left something there & she arranged for me to meet her husband with the item very close to where I work in Baltimore...an 85 mile trip saved!
The owner responded very quickly and is very pleasant to deal with. Thanks Jim!
We are returning next year.

If you are looking to do as much as you want or as little as you want, this cottage is the prime location. Sitting on the front porch watching the boats come in and out of the marina was a favorite activity! Rock Hall is very tiny with very interesting and friendly residents. There is much history to be learned in and around Rock Hall. We would definitely recommend this getaway. The owner was very accommodating and so were the rental people there in town. The internet pictures were very accurate and the property was clean and well maintained.

We loved our week long stay at this cottage in August. The cottage has a perfect location and all the comforts of home. From the front porch you can see a portion of the Chesapeake Bay in the Rock Hall marina. The size of the cottage is perfect for a couple and 2 small children. Within walking distance to two nearby restaurants overlooking the water; yet far enough away for a quiet, peaceful setting. About a 3 minute drive to the local beach at the end of Rock Hall where watching the sunset over the bay is the best way to end the day. Our pet schnauzer enjoyed the week with us. We definitely recommend this rental to others.

Thank you Jim for the use of the cottage. It was a perfect "home" to prepare for our daughter's wedding in Rock Hall. For sure, it will appear in their wedding photos as their photographer spent 2 hrs with us on Saturday as 6 girls were doing hair and makeup. The front porch and backyard were a welcome retreat!

This is a very nice house for a couple of a family of 3 or 4 to stay. Great location, right on the water within minutes of the public beach, restaurants etc. The house is very well kept/equipped and the owner was great to deal with throughout. I'd very highly recommend this house to anyone looking to visit the Chesapeake Bay and trying some Eastern Shore crabs! :-)
