About this cabin rental
A four-bedroom, pet-friendly home, Shooting Star offers 3,500 square feet of luxury. When you’re not indoors shooting pool, playing ping-pong, or relaxing in the sauna, you’ll be outdoors in the hot tub or kicking back on the huge deck, enjoying the mountain view and the background music of songbirds during the day and owls at night.
Shooting Star can sleep up to ten people (and a pet or two!). Because all four of its bedrooms are spacious retreats, with a king-size bed and a TV, the sprawling house can accommodate several couples on a weekend getaway as comfortably as it can a family or two. The two en-suite primary bedrooms are particularly pampering: Each has its own large bathroom with a Jacuzzi as well as a shower. And one of the suites is the ultimate in luxury; in addition to a roomy sitting area with a fireplace, it boasts a sauna. Staying here is almost like vacationing in an exclusive spa. Should you have additional guests, a couch in the great room opens into a queen-size bed.
Speaking of the great room, the open, sunny space features a wall of picture windows so that you can admire the Smoky Mountains even as you stretch out on one of the plush sofas. The whole group can gather together to watch a movie on the TV with cable channels and a DVD player or play Pictionary by the fireplace. The game room has plenty of other amusements as well: board games, a dartboard, and a pool table. If none of those strike your fancy, head to Shooting Star’s two-car garage, where you’ll find the ping-pong table. And of course the home has free WiFi, so that you can share your adventures with your friends back home.
When it comes to dining, you have several options. Shooting Star is just a short drive from scores of restaurants specializing in everything from Southern comfort food to Mexican cuisine. Or you can eat in. The dining table seats six, and there’s room for several more at the accompanying occasional table or at the kitchen’s breakfast bar. In fact, once you see how large and well equipped the kitchen is, you might be eager to try one of those elaborate recipes you never have time for at home. Another option is to cook and dine alfresco. There’s a charcoal grill outside and a dining table on the deck, which overlooks a tranquil pond as well as looks out toward the Smokies. The fresh mountain breeze transforms even soup and sandwiches into a feast.
Because Shooting Star is within Gatlinburg’s exclusive Cobbly Nob neighborhood, in the summer you’ll have free access to the area’s two swimming pools, each of which includes a patio with chaises for relaxing in the sun. And at the foot of Cobbly Nob—less than a mile from Shooting Star—is the Bent Creek Golf Course, designed by Grand Slam golf champion Gary Player.
Shooting Star is also less than two miles from Climb Works, where you can explore the mountains by zip line or mountain bike. Just a bit farther are the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a wonderland of waterfalls, wildlife, and wildflowers, and the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, an eight-mile trail of more than 120 galleries, studios, and shops. Less than a half-hour away is downtown Gatlinburg, home to Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, the Guinness World Records Adventure, arcades, thrill rides, and a tram that carries you over the town to Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area.
However you spend your day, you’ll love ending it at serene Shooting Star—perhaps while soaking in the gazebo’s hot tub or enjoying a nightcap on the deck beneath the star-studded sky. Don’t miss out; book your stay today, before someone else beats you to it. We look forward to seeing you soon.

While the photos and description of the property were wonderful, the reality was less than desirable. The hot tub and Wi-Fi didn’t work. There was a strong smell of mold in the house. We arrived on Sunday, and it took until Tuesday for them to come and look at these issues. But worst of all, we discovered bed bugs in one of the bedrooms. We moved out that day. Eventually, they gave us a full refund. After all was said and done, it was a great disappointment.

Plenty of space. Definitely needs some updating with appliances & furniture but overall a great house with a great layout. Sits on a beautiful piece of land with total privacy.

I was able to do everything by my cell phone including checking in and checking out. I enjoyed being away from the crowd and we actually saw a bear cross the driveway when we were coming home one day.

We love this property! This is the 2nd. year we have rented it! Everything about Shooting Star is perfect for our group! Our grandkids love the pool and ping pong tables! We all love the deck and rooms are very large! Would recommend this house to anyone! Thank you for the great accommodations!

My family stayed here on our summer vacation before the kids all go off to college. There was plenty of space for the seven of us. We enjoyed the back deck a lot. The house is in need of a lot of updating. Has potential to be a beautiful home. Decor is extremely out dated, the beds were OK at best, our backs all hurt. The house had a musky smell so I used deodorizing spray to help. The carpets are all stained. The couches are not comfortable and are dingy. The pool table is not in a separate room. It’s in a small room off the side of what I assume is the upstairs master. There is also a master downstairs. The pool table room is small so it’s cramped making it hard to actually play. The ping pong table in the garage was a hit for us. We did not use the hot tub, it was dirty. Over all we enjoyed our stay as we wanted to make the best of our vacation. I would not book the particular house again.

Wonderful view in a good location for our group
We rented the house for our group of 2 50-somethings and 4 20-somethings. The layout of bedrooms was perfect for us, with plenty of space in the living room for games and TV watching. We liked that it was a bit away from the bustle of Gatlinburg and that we could get where we wanted (Dollywood, the National Park, a couple of outings nearby--Hartford was a good spot) without having to go into Gatlinburg, but still get to a good grocery store (Food City) and into town for ourn1 venture in.
We mostly LOVED the wonderful view from the deck and sat out there each morning and evening. Bring bug spray!
As others have noted some furnishings and fixtures were a bit dated and worn, but it worked fine for our group.

Our forth time staying in this home!
We love staying in this home. It’s off the beaten path with quite surroundings. This time was a little disappointing due to the hot being out, but stuff happens! It was still a great stay!

Beds were comfortable, although I got woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of something clawing in the ceiling above me. Since we were in the woods I figured it was a Squirrel or raccoon. The dishwasher already had dishes in it when we arrived, and although they were clean it didn't think we should have to put them up. Back sliding glass door was kinda to open. Front door code would not let us in once, had to reenter the code like 5 times before it finally opened.

Beautiful place but needs work
This is a beautiful place but needs some updates. Counter has cracks, chips of paint missing, Toilets needed cleaning. Just cosmetics things. The biggest and prettiest bedroom is on the top floor. Wish it had been on the bottom. The pool table needs to be in garage with the ping pong table can't really use the pool table not enough room WE tried. Love the deck and wish there had been more chairs. But we had a great time good place if you are not a picky person.

Could use some TLC
My family and I enjoyed this property. It was about 30 minutes from most attractions, but the area was beautiful. The house could us a maintenance follow through and some furniture updates. There were 10 of us but seating for only 6 and several outdoor and one indoor seat was chair was broken. A Couple of the handles in the bathrooms were striped and we had to set them so the kids wouldn’t get burned from hot water when turning water on. Several floor tiles missing grout and rocking. These are all things that routine maintenance would find.

Great Location, Some General Maintenance Needed
Wonderful location, easy to get to, and the cabin was clean and well-kept. There were some minor maintenance issues (light bulbs out, rickety chairs, etc...) that didn't really bother us, but I could see bothering some. I've come to expect most of those kinds of issues when dealing with rental cabins; it seems to be a fairly common problem. The property was more generous than most with consumables (toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dishwasher detergent, etc...). All in all we enjoyed our stay and would return to the cabin again.

Overall the home was nice. A little outdated and too far away from all the entertainment. We didn’t purchase the travel insurance because we were definitely going. We checked in on day 1 of our vacation and had just come back from grocery shopping and getting all settled in when my sister called to let me know our daddy had been found dead at his home! We stayed the one night due to the weather being too bad for us to drive the 7 hours to my daddy’s home. I emailed and asked if they could find it in their hearts to refund SOME of our money but, was refused.Obviously we are very disappointed.

Beware what u see is not what u get
The place was filthy. The air was musty most of the lights didn't work up stairs toilet had a mind if its own. I was looking forward to the sauna didn't work. Lots if bugs. Very outdated. They really need to update the whole place for what we paid to stay there it was not worth it at all. I can't recommend it. Cell service was a nightmare as well.

Great place and LOTS of ROOM!
This is a great place for friends, couples, families. It's got it all. Love the ping pong in the garage! Bring your own pool sticks, though. They need new ones. If you love to cook, this is the place for you. So much room in the kitchen, we had 6 people in there cooking and never ran into each other! We had visitors too...A mama bear and her three cubs were on the DECK! The view is breathtaking and it is well secluded up a long drive. We will definitely stay here again!

Spacious and clean!
We had a lovely visit, there was a ton of room for 6 of us plus a dog! Hot tub was great, and the outdoor/patio area is beautiful. The only thing was the toilets were not really flushing/upstairs toilet was leaking the whole time, so we just used a hand towel on the floor. Another toilet didn't have water in it so we had to fill it. Other than that we had a great stay!

Not what we had hoped for
Was really looking forward to a fantastic Family vacation. Our search for this property included community pool , hot tub and big kitchen with out door grill for cooking . Hot tub didn’t work , outside grill was rusted , community pool was filthy. We couldn’t even swim in it . Kids were so disappointed. We could over look cleanliness and out dated but the things most important was a real sad disappointment.

This property can be perfect
We now it it was fall time of the year when we where there But if the decks had a roof on them this would be a perfect cabin.I had to clean the decks off and the chairs and tables in the morning covered with wet leaves so when we came home later they would be dry so we can use the decks and chairs and table also with all the wet leaves needed 4 wheel drive to make it up the driveway they needed to blow off the leaves off the driveway

Great location, enough space for everyone to enjoy their stay.
You need to change the listing to show the swimming pool as community pools. This house did not have a swimming pool as it was listed which was a big disappointment for all of the family members.

Beautiful Views
We enjoyed our stay at Shooting Star. We had 4 adults and 4 kids and this house was big enough to accommodate all of us without being cramped. All of the bedrooms were roomy, with 2 master bedrooms (1 upstairs & 1 down) it was perfect for our 2 families. The rental was pretty much spotless & provided enough soap, toilet paper and trash bags to get us through a few days and had plenty of towels for everyone, which is a nice change from some of the other rentals we have had. The reason for my 4 stars is the pillows are pretty flat (an easy fix) and there are several outdoor areas to hang out, but no covered patio or deck areas - of course it rained the entire week we were there. But that can be easily fixed by the rental company, just put a market style umbrella in the outdoor table. This is a great house that feels very secluded while you are there, but is close enough to all of the fun in Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge.

This property is exactly as it appears in the ad
This property itself is nice and easy to access. The check in /check out was super easy.
There is plenty of room inside however, the place smelled old and closed up.
Housekeeping could have done a better job of cleaning the place..there was someone else's long blond hair left in the shower..The bedding in the all rooms are in dire need of an update..the comfortor in the downstairs bedroom actually had someone's blood on it.
The Jacuzzi was clean and ready to go.
The view was pretty decent.
We had dinner at a local restaurant called The Woodshed..the food and the service was awesome..found it on yelp.. We will be back next year for our annual couples getaway but probably won't be seeking out this property.

I loved the views and the privacy of the cabin. It was a little out of date in some ways but nice.
It was very private and scenic. Nice amenities b7t I did not find the pool and some things were out of date on the interior of the cabin but overall it was a nice getaway spot.

The property was very nice. 2 very large bathrooms and great bedrooms. Living room furniture could have been a little more comfy. Kitchen was very nice! Very much enjoyed our stay.
