The home is furnished with my antiques, consignment store and yard sale treasures, original art, folk art pieces and my whimsical style throughout. All bedding, towels, kitchen supplies and appliances are new and inviting.

Immediately felt like “home.” Great location, within walking distance to the plaza if you don’t mind a stroll. Beautiful outdoor spaces; we spent much of our time on the front deck and back patio.
Great division of space for our group - two couples and a single - and everybody had plenty of room. Kitchen is nice and spacious, and was well stocked for our needs.
Communication from the host was prompt when we had questions.
Great stay.

Nice house, good location near Plaza, and a front porch perfect for sitting and doing nothing.

We had a wonderful stay and particularly loved the location which was a quiet neighborhood with an easy walk to downtown. The house is gorgeous and very spacious. The furniture is beautiful but not particularly sturdy or comfortable. Another thing to note is that the curtains are very thin, so if you or your kids tend to wake at first light that may be an issue. Regardless, would stay again. e.

This rustic, vintage home was captivating from the moment we walked in. So charming, neat and clean. The porch and deck are absolutely beautiful and inviting. We enjoyed our coffee outside in the morning and dinner outside in the evenings. Great location tucked away on a side street. It was so quiet and peaceful, exactly what we needed to rest and recharge. Hope to stay here again sometime.

This was the most relaxing property. We loved the peaceful atmosphere enjoyed having our coffee under the gorgeous apricot tree listening to the birds singing their good morning songs. It was so close to so many places. We are actually thinking of going back very soon.

Cute decor & responsive host. :)

Property is just what you would hope for in an eclectic community like Taos.

very nice property, enjoyed our stay

Casa Madre was in close proximity to the grocery store and the main plaza. We became very familiar with the area and it was easy to come and go. This was a perfect house for our girls time in Taos. We had plenty of room and enjoyed our mornings with the gas fire stoves keeping us warm. Our host was very available and responded quickly to any questions. We loved our stay at Casa Madre.

The house was so cute and so eclectic. Plenty of room for everyone to do their own thing or be together. Front and back areas were wonderful.

Beautiful large space! Very clean and comfortable! We had a wonderful time in this creative and homey place!

This was a great place for my sister and I to stay while we toured Taos.
Rustic, clean, and very comfortable.

Very nice home with plenty of space (we were two friends road tripping through New Mexico) and a nice big kitchen. Short drive into town and you could even walk, although there are a few streets with no sidewalks. The house is in a nice quiet residential area.

Great place, had a wonderful time! Location is great, love the outdoor patio spaces

This house is just as beautiful in person as it is in the photos- perhaps more so. I was so taken with the photos and the warmth and professionalism of the owner that I changed our trip to be based in Taos instead of Sante Fe and I am happy that I did so. This house just blew my mind- the wood floors, the folk art, the close location to town... it was really delightful. Taos was wonderful- we saw the Pueblo, went white water rafting, ate some fantastic food, and spent quality family time on the back deck and front porch. If were to do it again, I would stay longer- it was hard to come home. This house was comfortable, beautiful, so of the region.... it made our time in Taos special.

We loved our stay at Casa Madre, even during the extreme weather this season, the house stayed comfortable. Plenty of room, good parking, fantastic location. This place is a treasure!
4.7
The property was nice.. I am now being accused of traveling with a dog and not notifying the property owner. None of our group had a dog that peed on her comforter. There are several people who can verify there was not a dog with our group!

Came to Taos for a family wedding. Absolutely enjoyed our stay at Casa Madre. Felt like home.

Our stay at Casa Madre was a lovely jumping off point for all parts of Taos. The location was fantastic and made for an easy 10 min walk to the Plaza. The house is authentic and older, but very clean and adequately supplied, though the kitchen was light on spices or other kitchen supplies. The highlight for us were the front porch and back patio, each of which provided private, shady, and very pleasant spaces to enjoy the yard. The handwritten notecards with directions all over the house were helpful, but made us feel a bit like we were staying at Grandma’s house. All and all, we had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to stay at Casa Madre during our next visit to Taos. After this trip, a return to Taos is inevitable!

Casa Madre was very nice place to stay. All the spaces, inside and out, were very welcoming. It was fun to discover all the little artsy details of the house! Would stay there again!

My sisters and I stayed at this property for our annual girls’ weekend. The property was clean and charming, and the check-in/check-out procedures were easy. The owner was extremely responsive, and the home instructions left in the property were extremely helpful.
We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect location to be able to walk to the main part of town. We were happy to find a place that allowed us to bring our dogs.

We loved this house and all the cute decorations and antiques throughout the house! It was perfect for our short stay in Taos. Everything you need was in the house and I would highly recommend it!
4.7
Great space that had all of the amenities we needed and was very comfortable. Tastefully decorated and was within walking distance to town and a 30 minute drive to the ski mountain. Would highly recommend.
4.7
The property was excellent for our purposes: we needed three bedrooms and two baths. The spacious common areas certainly gave a sense we weren’t on top of each other.

We had a great time staying at Melissa's place. The property was just as described and very comfortable for our weekend in Taos!

We had a nice weekend staying here

Charming New Mexican style home. Space was a little dark. Overall positive experience.

Our family and friend loved staying at Casa Madre! Close to town and fully equipped for a family, we found the house the perfect retreat after a long day of exploring Taos. Melissa provided great suggestions for the area and has prepared a clean, comfortable home-away-from-home. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit.

I really enjoyed the stay, I love Taos and will be back to stay at this house. Great neighborhood and 11 minute walk into
Town.
4.7
Loved the private location, in a nice quiet neighborhood that was still within walking distance to the plaza. Two covered outdoor spaces let us sit outside, since the weather was great. Comfy beds and good showers. The little guest house with a bunk bed would have been great for kids.
4.7
We had a girls two day outing. The house was perfect and in a very convenient residential neighborhood. Would definitely book again.
4.7
Very easy to communicate with Melissa. She was flexible with changes to our itinerary during COVID. Only negative was the lack of a tea kettle for my friend, a Brit, who drinks a lot of tea!

We visited Taos and loved our three day stay in this wonderful home. Especially loved the peaceful porches. The home is wonderfully decorated with lots of antiques and art. We loved just hanging out til late mornings sipping our coffee & reading on the front shady porch. Everything was very clean and we would stay here again.

My two sisters and I rented this house for a long weekend get-away in Taos. It was perfect for us. It's filled with antiques and fun southwestern art. We loved having our coffee out on the front deck, which is built around a tree. Parking was easy. It's a little dark during the day, but if this doesn't bother you, it's a great place to stay.
4.7
We booked this home last minute for a quick get away. We enjoyed our stay. The front porch as others have mentioned was relaxing and you can't beat the tree for added privacy. We used two of the three bedrooms. Both beds were comfortable and rooms were just darling. We did not cook, but the kitchen had everything you would need. Based on prior reviews we choose the bring our smaller car and that was a good choice for just about everything you would do running around Taos and parking at the house. You could park a larger SUV too. We did not walk, but getting to the plaza was about a 7 min drive. Appreciated all of the landscaping, funky decor and attention to detail that Melissa has put into the property. I also feel the price is reasonable. We will would come back again to stay.

It was a lovely property, with a beautiful tree on the front deck. Pretty much stayed on the porch the entire time! We really enjoyed the visit.

Fun retreat
Loved looking at the art and whimsical decor. Kitchen was well equipped and functional. It was very peacful sitting outside on the deck under the massive apricot tree.

Great place
We had a wonderful time at this house. Lots of room and wonderful porch to sit on and visit. 4 adults stayed with no problem then added 2 teenagers in the bunkhouse. They really enjoyed staying in their own separate area. It close to plaza but we had an 83 year old and was afraid to walk on the road with no shoulder. Would recommend this place.
