About this house rental
This newly remodeled three bedroom home has it all! Tiled kitchen with new appliances is well equipped and supplied for cooking at home. I always like to say if I don't have it, you won't need it! There is a separate dining room with mountain views. The living room is large-nicely furnished and comfortable. There is a fireplace and plenty of fragrant cedar firewood provided. There are three bedrooms. Front bedroom has a queen, middle bedroom has a double and the master bedroom has a king. Each bedroom has closet space and a dresser . I provide two cozy robes in each bedroom too for lazy mornings or comfy evenings. There are two tiled full baths with soaps, shampoo/conditioner and hair dryer provided.
This home was totally remodeled in early 2016. It was quite an undertaking! All walls and kitchen cabinets were painted a warm cream. All new operable screened windows and stained trim. Tongue and groove ceilings (I stained 1300 feet of tongue and groove. Whew!) New trim tile in the blue bathroom and completely new mango bathroom.
Then the fun part, the furnishing and decorating! I furnish with my antiques and treasures from local consignment stores and estate sales. All my bedding and towels are from my favorite Company Store catalogue so all bright colors and high quality. I love original Taos art so you will find it in every room. I have a penchant for whimsy and it's here and there. I am often asked about my decorating style- I call it "Melissiana". Actually my plumber said it best when he said, "Nothing you do makes any sense, but when you are done, it all works!"
This home is located on a quiet one block dead end street. The only sounds you hear are birds, wind chimes and the church bells from Our Lady of Guadalupe a block away. There is private on site parking. A walled courtyard with big trees, lilacs offer outdoor living spaces for two and four legged guests. I was a professional landscaper in California before I moved to Taos and it is still my passion. In ground flowering plants as well as boxes decorated by me and big ceramic pots full of color are everywhere.
There are two outdoor living areas in front. To the left of the front gate there is a vintage glider and to the right a table and six comfortable chairs as well as a large BBQ grill. There is an additional outdoor living area off the master bedroom in the back.
As with all ten of my properties Casa Grande is pet friendly.
This home is actually part of a fourplex compound. I live in one of the little casitas so am always available to answer any questions. There are also two additional casitas that I rent for short term visits. Casa azul (Vrbo 797997) And Casa Verde (Vrbo 920144). Each have living/dining, tiled baths and queen bedrooms. Each also have private walled courtyards. Often guests rent the compound for large groups. I can sleep up to ten guests on this property..
There is a central laundry room available for all my guests and on site parking.
Casa Grande is located on a quiet, one block dead end street and is only three blocks from Taos Plaza.
This downtown compound was featured on the 2017 Taos Home & Garden Tour where on a Saturday in August 500 tour goers had a chance to check out my style. Too much fun!!!
If this home is booked for your dates please look at Vrbo 482097 another of my downtown homes which also offers three bedrooms and two baths.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely house. It’s in a nice quiet neighborhood within walking distance of the plaza and Harwood museum.

Love the decorating! Thank you for letting us stay!

This is a lovely place that’s well set-up for group gatherings. The location is awesome: within easy walking distance to the Taos Plaza and very safe feeling.
The place was clean inside. The outdoor area, while a great space, needs a more thorough cleaning. We reported a noisy running toilet that wasn’t fixed during our stay. Overall, though, it’s a great place.

Location is as described, just a few blocks from the plaza. Colorful, artistic decor creates a homey vibe. My family of 6 enjoyed our stay, and marveled at how quiet it was so close to a lot of activity.
Beds were comfortable, interior clean and tidy. We didn't use the kitchen so I can't attest to how stocked it was. Beautiful home.

VERY positive experience. We’d stay here again for sure!

Thank you for hosting us in your beautiful home, Melissa! All the conveniences of home and easy access to the Plaza and Taos Pueblo.

The property is spacious and was good for the 6 of us. Location to the plaza was great. However, it needs a deep cleaning. Curtain in dining room falling off wall, kitchen is awkward and could be better supplied. Tubs need to be cleaned and re-caulked. Water pressure comes and goes. Blue bathroom shower curtain needs to be replaced because it’s dirty. Towel rack closest to tub falling off wall. Living room chairs and sofa in need of deep cleaning and repair. The notes left by Melissa were overwhelming and would have been more useful in a renters book (we didn’t find one). Should we take out thrash (we did) should we recycle (we did) don’t use lotion or oil (we didn’t). Should we strip the beds? (We did) we also ran a load of towels after asking what we needed to do before we left. The beds were comfy! Patio chair cushions were ripped. Will we come back? Don’t know.

This property was really nice.

Nice big unit. Nice and bright during day and sort of a dark cozy aesthetic once the sunsets. As described it is part of a multi unit house but never really noticed anyone else. Walkable to main sights in near the Taos Plaza. Good size and layout for our family.

Great property, great location, great stay!

Cozy with cute decor and antiques. Updating of bathroom fixtures (etc) would be nice. Definitely need a larger tv for the main living area (26-30” is too small). Had a few ant issues but for the most part we enjoyed the stay and everything was provided to our satisfaction. 🎿

Close to town, very walkable. Was a good spot to stay during a ski trip with my family

The location is great. Its within walking distance to the plaza and for skiers/boarders its not too far from the ski valley. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking meals in. The space was big enough to not feel cramped and the fenced courtyard was great for bringing our dog. The only complaint is that the living room furniture is old and very worn down, not making for super confy nights on the couch or chair. Overall, we enjoywd our stay and still recommend this propery.

Good location, great property and easy communication. Would just improve bed softness and showers. Overall amazing though

Went to Taos for skiing. The home was affordable and conveniently located close to town.

We stayed for 4 nights while we skied with our kids. Very cute, cozy, and nicely located. College kid walked up to the plaza for shopping on her own, enjoying the local shops during a day off. We love Taos and this is a great place to stay.

The property was exactly as advertised. The kitchen was well stocked and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The property was roomy, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, clean

Lovely place to stay, close to everything, and a nice space for families.

Lovely place to stay, close to everything, and a nice space for families.

The property was clean but the furniture was outdated and was not even comfortable that we could even sit on. There was only one T.V throughout the home and it was only one small one that we could not even enjoy it for all of us to see it or even have a place for us to sit. There was no water pressure in the other bath when the other bath was being used.

We met my daughter and her boyfriend in Taos for the balloon festival. We had a great time. Property is close to everything in town. We walked most places. It has a lovely yard but the weather was a little nippy to use. There are 3 bedrooms but six people might be a squeeze. Perfect for 4. We cooked in both nights. Well stocked kitchen. I would stay again. Captures the flavor of the Southwest.

My husband and I met some old friends for a fall getaway. The house was the perfect place to meet. It was roomy, well stocked and close to town. We also enjoyed the art throughout the house. We would stay at tjis place again.. Thanks Melissa

Great artistically decorated home with all amenities. Great location close to historic downtown Taos. Beautiful private patio to enjoy a cocktail in the evening.

Casa grande was beautiful. The living space was beautifully appointed. Everything was very clean. Casa Grande is loaded with antiques and beautiful art work. The bedrooms and beds were perfect. Bathrooms were nice. There was was a full kitchen with everything necessary for preparing a complete dinner or entertaining. Wonderful tile work on the kitchen island and counters. The entire unit couldn’t have been better. Melissa was a great host. The check-in process was easy. The neighborhood was very nice. Casa Grande is walking distance to Taos Center. The village is beautiful with many wonderful galleries, and great restaurants to dine.
We had four adults in our party staying at Casa Grande. We all enjoyed our stay. We plan to return. Thank you Melissa.

The house was perfect for us, well stocked kitchen supplies, areas to sit outdoors and enjoy the weather, and within walking distance from the Plaza.

A wonderful home very close to the action, but quiet and calm. Recommended!

Beautiful, roomy, comfortable--this lovely casita has everything! Close to the plaza but quiet. Front patio, apricot trees, back patio with door to one of the bedrooms. We wanted to move in permanently. We've stayed in many places in Taos--this is the ONE.Thank you so much.

It was the perfect home for my friends and I as we were all coming in from out of town. The beds were comfy, the living room and kitchen were really comfortable to hang out and eat in, and we were able to walk right downtown from the house. There isn’t a/c but the ceiling fans and windows at night made it comfortable.
4.8
Such a cozy and comfy house!! It was perfect for the three of us! The location was accessible to everything. We had a fun time! Will definitely return!!!!

Great place for a relaxing weekend.

This was our second visit to Casa Grande, this time later in the spring. Not only was the weather exquisit, but as always the house was perfect. Very comfortable for our family which included our fur babies. The host is incredibly gracious, and very quick with all communication. The house was spotless and ready for us when we drove into town. This was huge because we drove straight through from Texas, which was 11.5 hours. Don't hesitate to stay here at Casa Grande. You won't regret it. Cheers!

Convenient location close to Plaza; accommodations as advertised. Host responsive to question about television operation. Kitchen knives were supplied but needed sharpening and both overhead stove lights were out.

Nice home. Perfect for two couples or family with kids. Melissa very responsive to questions. No problems during our stay. Quick walk to the plaza. Highly recommend Michael’s restaurant for breakfast.
