The property was beautiful, private and well kept, it was well stocked and the location gave us a chance to explore this side of the island. Our dog Comet felt right at home

Wonderful! House is great. Very clean, spacious, and beautiful.

Great house in a great location on the "quiet side" of MDI. There is a free shuttle bus stop, mini-golf & plenty of restaurants to choose from without having to drive up to Bar Harbor. When at the house, most of our time was spent upstairs or on the deck, but the basement is a great spot to beat the heat of the afternoon sun & it has the most comfortable seating options. Kitchen has everything you could possibly need.
The little things - all small "inconveniences" but when added up, I took a star off the overall rating.
1. Smoke detector - arrived Sat.; detector out of reach started beeping Sun.; contacted Theresa & Sandy came quick & replaced battery; same detector started beeping again Mon; contacted T & S came quick & just removed the whole thing as there is another detector outside the smaller bedroom. That detector started beeping on Tues. We just pulled the battery on that one & did not contact Theresa until end of week.
2. Mosquito monthly spraying took place while there. T let me know & said we didn't need to be there, but 1/2 our group was there with their car which got covered with pesticide - enough that they felt the need to pay for a car wash. Would have been nice for sprayer to let them know to move car.
3. Check out time:11am on VRBO - cleaning people showed up just after 10 & when I mentioned #4 while they were waiting for us to finish, the woman had an annoyed tone.
4. None of the pillows on the bed apparently were the ones we were supposed to sleep on.

Beautiful, peaceful property with excellent communication from host. The property is well stocked with kitchen and bathroom supplies.
Location is accessible to Wonderland, Ship Harbor and Bass Harbor Lighthouse. Great seafood restaurants within close proximity to house.
Looking forward to returning to this location!

We really enjoyed our stay at Theresa’s place. The house is super clean and comfortable and the setting is tranquil. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet side of MDI. Everything we need is nearby without the crowds. Lots of activities as well such as hiking, kayaking and taking a dip at echo lake. The Arcadia national park is a pleasant 20 min drive away. We wish to be back!

This is a beautiful house on a beautiful, peaceful property within a few miles from the center of Southwest Harbor. Best meal was at Beal’s, and enjoyed ice cream at the Salt Box. Close to Wonderland Trail and Ship Harbor Trail, which made for good walks with our dog each morning. The house is clearly well cared for, with a lovely deck where we could enjoy our morning coffee. Easy communication with the host, too. The house is about 20 minutes from Bar Harbor, with easy access to all the Acadia Trails, including Cadillac Mtn. And Jordan Pond House. Would stay here again!

The house was clean, well stocked, organized and very inviting. It had a nice open concept layout. The beds were very comfortable. Location was perfect for visiting and riding bikes within Acadia. Many great places to eat close by. The home was quiet and secluded. The porch was huge. We enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the red squirrels, the chickadees, and the blue herons in the Glade. We will definitely be back.

This was by far the nicest property we have ever stayed at. The host was attentive to any question we had and took care of any of our concerns. We experienced a rare hurricane while at the home and the host continued to check on our welfare. Thank you for making our vacation perfect!

This was our 3rd summer at Gladeview with Theresa. We had another lovely stay and her home was the perfect setup for us. If you like lots of bright, natural light, this is the place for you. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s immaculately clean and has all the things you need to settle in and feel like you’re at home while on vacation. Thanks for continuing to provide us with a beautiful home for our summer trip to MDI.

We enjoyed our stay at Gladeview. It was a short drive away from the busy world of Bar Harbor, but all of Mt. Desert Island and ANP were easily accessible. A trail was in walking distance, and I found a few more a short drive away via the AllTrails app. I really liked Ship Harbor Trail. Beautiful! The house had a fully stocked kitchen and we loved the deck with the hammock. Theresa was communicative and helpful.

Located in a beautiful setting that was peaceful and private. We enjoyed the large deck to be outside for meals, reading and stargazing. The kitchen was well supplied for preparing meals. Daylight comes in trough the expanse of windows making a pleasant space. Of course the great deep tub and great shower were nice to have. When the heat wasn’t coming up, Teresa had someone come and take care of that. We so enjoyed our stay.

From the very beginning, Theresa was easy to communicate with, always prompt to respond to messages.
The house is clean, well maintained and stocked with everything we needed for a week long stay.
I would highly recommend Theresa’s house to any one visiting MDI, we enjoyed being close to Bar Harbor and ANP.
If staying with your dog, as we did, there is a 2 mile path just steps away that is very popular with the locals that we discovered the last day of our trip. I wish we had found it earlier.

We had a great experience at Gladeview. Quiet, secluded yet close enough to the main road to get access to everything Acadia has to offer.

We had an amazing stay! Theresa communicated from the beginning and made sure we got in safely and were settling in. The house was spotless and had everything you could hope for! Although the marsh area is extremely mosquito-y, the house gets treated so we were able to enjoy the porch in peace. Low light pollution on the quiet side means great star viewing on clear nights. A wonderful visit and we’ll be back!

We loved staying here. The property was well located, clean and had a wonderful view across a field and stream. Theresa was really quick with messages and we hope to one day come back!

This was our second year staying at Gladeview and it felt like we were coming home. Theresa is such a great host. The house was clean, well appointed with everything you could need. The hammock and porch were a favorite spot of ours at all times of the day. We saw turkeys, hummingbird birds, and geese on the glade. Theresa is always looking for ways to make the property better. The new water filter system that was installed over the winter was an amazing addition to the property.
We already booked our return next summer. If you’re looking for a spot on the quiet side, this is it!

This was one of our favorite VRBO homes we have stayed at! It's an open style floor plan with so much sunlight! The location is super close to Echo Lake where we went for swimming, minutes away from several hiking trails and ice-cream and about a 25 minute drive to Acadia Park. My favorite part was sitting outside on the deck in the evening or having a fire while the kids roasted smores. We also cooked our own lobster twice with all the tools in the kitchen. The kids even worked on one of the many puzzles available. Communication with the homeowner was fantastic. We were so sad to leave but I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting this area!

We had a wonderful stay and accommodations were very nice. Super roomy and wonderful views. Enjoyed relaxing in the hammock and dining on the deck! Would stay here again. Only downside was there is no railing going up the four steps to the house entrance. My wife has trouble navigating stairs so I had to assist her getting in and out of the house. Beds were very comfortable.

Ideal location on the quiet side of Acadia.
We explored much of Acadia and always had a comfortable well equipped place to return to. Gladeview was very nice and we had all we needed. We highly recommend this place to families or friends who want the balance of exploration and a quiet place to relax and enjoy the beauty all around.

Terrific space with a wonderful view!
It was a pleasure to work with Theresa as the property owner. This secluded home with the perfect open floor plan and large windows overlooking the new large deck and marshland was perfect for our small family event.

Wonderful Retreat
A lovely craftsman house with a large deck nestled among the trees on the ‘quiet’ side of Mount Desert Island yet close enough to explore MDI and hike Acadia National Park and all its wonders. Amenities and restaurants are a short drive away. A wonderful place to relax, connect with family and the natural world and make memories.

First time Acadia visitors
We had a wonderful week exploring Acadia and Gladeview was a very comfortable, peaceful home base for our family of four. House was just as advertised and loved the location on the “quiet side” of the island - also appreciated being close to Southwest Harbor. We were so busy trying to see everything on MDI that we only wish we’d had more time to enjoy the lovely outdoor deck and fire pit! Thank you for sharing your home.

Great Stay
We loved this property so much, we just booked it again for next summer. Theresa is a wonderful host who provides you with anything you could think of. The location on the quiet side of the island was perfect for us. You won't believe how bright the stars are at night. Beautiful Acadia is right down the road.

Acadia Adventure
The house was perfect for our first visit to Acadia. It is neat, clean, and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is much nicer than the photos. The location was perfect. Southwest Harbor has lovely shops and restaurants. Gott’s General Store is minutes from the house, which is a plus. The house is not far from the main sections of Acadia or Bar Harbor. There are entrances to many trails nearby, as well. My husband and I, plus our pooch were very comfortable.

A perfect place for a Mt. Desert Island adventure
This was our 3rd trip to Mt. Desert Island, and Theresa’s home was absolutely perfect for our time exploring everything the island has to offer. Theresa was kind, prompt, and helpful from booking through arriving on site and departure. The house had everything we needed and it was evident that Theresa wanted to make her guests feel welcome. The house was spotless and comfortable and came with the little things that made us feel at home.
Our 1 year old loved toddling around the house. Our dog loved the windows that looked out over the glade. My husband loved the sunsets that you could see from the marsh. I loved the hammock on the back porch. Acadia National Park and this island had our hearts, and we are so grateful that we got to call this place home. I hope this isn’t the last time we get to stay at Theresa’s home.

Exploring Acadia
The location on the quiet side was ideal for our family of four and two dogs. We enjoyed hikes and exploring harbor towns on the quiet side, but we were only a 20 minute drive to almost everything else the island has to offer. The house itself was more than we hoped for and we would look forward to the opportunity to stay here again. The owner was extremely attentive, checking in with us and making sure our stay was awesome.

Ebb and Flow
Gladeview was a wonderful place to watch the ebb and flow of the tides weather from the expansive deck or through the many large windows. The house wasn’t cluttered at all, so it offered a lot of space for renters to spread out and make themselves at home. The kitchen was well stocked w/everything you need to cook. The owner provided so many details that many VRBOS miss-flashlights in many areas, candles, extra paper products, as well as tissues. The location to explore “the quiet side” of the island is perfect w/many excellent hikes on that side. We would definitely like to return!

We had a wonderful stay at Glenview! The house is sparkling clean and is so cozy and relaxing; it made the one rainy day we had in Acadia a nice experience! The location can't be beat, it is on the "quietside" of the island away from the hustle of the main part of the park but a 10 minute drive from dozens of gorgeous hikes in the national park. Highly recommended!

Gorgeous, clean, and secluded
The house is really beautiful, surrounded by woods but with enough open sky to be able to stargaze out on the deck. It was up to my husband's high standards of cleanliness, and was very comfortable and well-furnished. Additionally, it's within walking distance of a beautiful hiking trail. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking to explore the area but escape the crowds of Bar Harbor at the end of the day.

Maine Getaway
The place was incredible... really inviting, bright, and warm! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was a little off the beaten path, but all attractions are within a 20 to 30 minute drive, so the remoteness was not a problem at all. You really felt like you had your own oasis with nice views, deck, and fire pit. We will be sure to return when we vacation in Acadia again!
