Inside of house was clean and comfortable with all the basics you need to use the kitchen. Maria was responsive to any questions we had. We had a few hot nights and there is only one small air conditioner in the main bedroom. .

The cottage was a perfect home base for our week on MDI. It’s quiet, well-stocked (we made dinner most nights), very comfortable, and perfectly situated for exploring the island. Communication with the owners was superb.

Enjoyed having this comfortable, quiet home where we could relax and do laundry after several days on the road. Was a great, quiet location from which to explore the island and Acadia National Park. Would stay here again.

Great house on the quiet side of MDI. We were there over a holiday weekend in October and Bar Harbor was jumping. But over in SW Harbor, all was serence. This house is a great base to explore all around MDI.

This is a great location to Acadia and surrounding areas. This is a very quiet neighborhood and this house had everything you would need and comfy beds! Would recommend!

Property was great for our small group and had great access to Acadia Park. Southwest Harbor had everything we needed and able to avoid the higher prices and traffic headaches of Bar Harbor.

Maria’s house is very clean and cute. The location is great as you can check out the town as well as some nice trails that are very close. Short drive to bar harbor as well. I love that they also had some games for kids and a gate upstairs for stair safety.

The cottage was a wonderful base for our short stay on MDI. Clean, comfortable and easily accessible to all that Acadia has to offer. I would definitely recommend to anyone who doesn't need/want to be in the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor but still enjoy the area.

The house is really charming with everything you could need - including a washer & dryer. Beds were comfy, decking was great and the local deer were an added bonus. Southwest Harbor itself is fairly small though so if you're looking lots of shops, bars & restaurants then Bar Harbor is better. But we like nice, quiet places and the local walks (Ship Harbor trail & Wonderland) were stunning. A 30 mins drive takes you to Cadillac mountain and all the amazing scenery Acadia has to offer. We absolutely loved our stay in this house & Maria was really helpful & quick to respond through the whole process. Definitely recommend

We really enjoyed our stay. It certainly is the quiet side of the island. The color scheme of the house was perfect in blue & aqua. Very clean, lots of windows for lighting and views. We enjoyed the living room each evening to relax and regroup. Laundry downstairs was easy to use, the grill worked well. Each morning I walked down the drive to view the dock/bay area. Such a great view each day. Beds are comfortable, lots of room. We would definitely stay here on a future visit. Thank you!

Me, my husband, and my 1 year old had a great time at Maria's place in Southwest Harbor. It was the perfect spot to explore Mount Desert Island/Acadia. 1 minute drive or 15 minute walk into SW Harbor, and about a 20 min drive to Bar Harbor. The house was very clean and had everything we needed....including the added bonus of a pack and play, high chair, and a few toys for our daughter. Maria was so kind and accommodating, and easy to text with! Would definitely recommend this place and we hope to be back ourselves in the years to come!

Review of the house in Manset
This house was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The only recommendation I have is for there to be more electrical outlets throughout the home.

Great, first Vrbo rental since pandemic started
We have not rented and stayed in a VRBO since before the pandemic started. This was a great return to travel. The house was wicked clean. I now travel with Clorox wipes and there was not a smidge of dust on surfaces. The minimalist, clean design style was perfect as we all have allergies. The pictures do not do it justice,. The home was the perfect size for 1 dog, my husband and myself, and is ideally located near Arcadia. Hiking every day was easy; especially when you knew you would come “home” to a comfy bed and a garden filled with flowers and the occasional wandering deer. This was the first time that we stayed in southwest harbor, but it will not be the last. If it didn’t involve a 13-hour drive for us, we would definitely try to find time to go back again this year. The neighbors and their dog Cain were friendly. Plus the views of the bay are beautiful. Thanks so much for letting us borrow your home.

Just Perfect
The house was clean and fresh with a white, beachy vibe. Beds were comfortable and shower was hot. Beautiful view of the sunrise over the water from the comfort of the living room!
Location was convenient for quiet side activities - Echo Beach, Beech Cliff trail, waterfront dining at the Upper Deck. Maria was very easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this property!!

Robins Nest
We stayed for 3 weeks in July. The house is exactly as described in the listing, right down to the actual robin building its nest in a lilac (?) by the front door. It was a perfect base for exploring all of MDI and beyond. I couldn't believe how quiet it was despite being so convenient to the main road through Southwest Harbor. The owners were very welcoming and helpful to ensure that we had a good stay.

Perfect Acadia Getaway
The property was incredibly clean and well-maintained, and Maria was very easy to communicate with. The property was well-equipped for any kind of cooking or cleaning. Southwest Harbor was no more than a 3 minute drive from the front door, and Bar Harbor was probably 20-25 minutes, but the drive went by very quickly. This was the perfect place to stay to be near enough to experience everything on Mount Desert Island while still maintaining a very comfortable vacatation atmosphere. Everything was perfect and we will definitely be staying again!

Quiet Cottage on the Quietside of MDI
Our group of 5 adults loved this cottage. It was comfortable, quiet and clean. So many small details made this house the perfect place to stay. Who would think you would need duct tape while on vacation? Well, we did and guess what, there was a roll in the kitchen! The water pressure in the shower was awesome too. The neighbors were friendly and welcoming (Polly was great). We enjoyed Southwest Harbor because it was so low key. I would definitely recommend this cottage to my friends and I would definitely stay here again.

The house is very well maintained and it is very cozy and a nice retreat!
We had rented the Robins Nest with my family and we loved the location and views from the house towards the harbor. The home is very well maintained and it has a typical New England feel of a cozy seaside home. We would consider renting it in the future again.
