So glad we found boswell farm cottages, we have stayed in 2 now, location perfect for us and our pooches, comfortable and well equipped. Fabulous walk into sidmouth via the Byes park, about 3 quarter to and hour stroll. Local pub friendly and dogs allowed too.

The location was perfect. Beautiful countryside views, but walking distance to the high street (remember a torch)
The size of the cottage is generous with 2 large sofas in the living area. Perfect, everything great!
I brought sofa throws and extra towels. We were very lucky we didn’t have a drop of rain, but I would have been concerned about the carpets. Parker the dog loved the carpet…he is used to a wooden floor, so he thought it was luxurious!!!

A charming cottage in a lovely location with private garden. Easy parking. Well equipped with all mod cons. Very clean, comfortable beds.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay .
Many thanks Andy & Rosie

Great accommodation and lovely location. Perfect break.
4.3
Quiet surroundings and not overlooked by other guests
No accessible electrical sockets in main bed room
Mattress cover was torn ..old and stained...
Bathroom mat was threadbare
Toilet seat very loose
Bathroom.extremely dated
Host left no welcome pack.and some milk.would.have been much appreciated at the least as the cottage is a drive away from local.shop
Cottage did.smell.of dogs too

It is in a lovely quiet location. The property was very comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The added advantage with two dogs was a safe secure garden.

Amazing location, design of units is good.
Cleanliness was poor - muddy paw prints up the inside of patio doors, extracted fan above bath filthy, dust and dead flies in kitchen. Mirrors all smeared
Tired property - I understand it’s a dog friendly property but the carpet is questionable, kitchen wasn’t overly well equipped, side panel to bath is an eyesore and wants replacing and the picnic bench in the garden looks like it’s just come back from it’s third tour of Afghanistan. Needs some tlc along with the garden - bushes need trimming back and grass could have done with cutting
Would return if problems addressed but some actual effort needs going into the preparation of the properties
I work on a large farm and I can’t see that this is a working farm whatsoever so maybe a little more elbow grease and pride wouldn’t go a miss

Location was great, the views from the cottage were lovely. If you didn’t want to see anyone you didn’t have to, could have total privacy. Pub was great up the road. Cottage had everything we needed- when we asked for a table in the garden it was delivered straight away with no issue.
The water pressure in the shower but cottage is like 100 years old, they did warn us and the water comes from a natural spring! So really just being picky!!!

stunning location. lovely private garden and perfect for all areas we wanted to visit.
double bed was a little tricky for 2 tall adults when you’re used to a king size.

Beautiful countryside location and a very peaceful, comfortable place to stay. Helpful, friendly hosts
The bathroom needed a little attention but nothing serious

Amazing location. Really good communications from them.

Very nice accommodation with all you would need for few days, only negative I felt was coming through the garden boots got extremely muddy and straight onto carpet could do with covered area over door to remove muddy boots and bigger door mat inside or laminate floors/lino as muddy paws nightmare. Cottage comfortable and I hope to return next year with grandchildren but would go for the Holt next-door as really fancied dip in hottub 😂

Very comfortable
All good!

lovely location, very family friendly, the garden is perfect for children.

Delightful little cottage. Perfect for our needs. Ideal for energetic collie. Able to run her off lead around the fields which were just outside the gate. Hose pipe and small brook available to wash off muddy paws. Tennis court and table-tennis facilities available for kids. Small garden would be lovely in sunny weather but too cold this week for us. Internet didn't work for 2 days so forced kids to be sociable with us. Yeah! Spacious lounge with comfortable sofas. Accommodation was warm. Suited our needs and excellent value. Lovely quiet rural position, but a few local shops for supplies. Great 60 mins walk to the beach. Lots of public footpaths in the vicinity.
We liked pretty much everything but a few comments, some of which could be acted upon. All 3 tables were wobbly so when daughter was rubbing out a drawing, a glass of water tipped. This could have been something like red wine which may have stained the carpet. Kitchen table was a bit of a squash to fit 4 around and we are all slim so would definitely problematic for larger folk. Children's bedroom was rather tight with a 2nd bed squeezed in. My 2 didn't mind but maybe this should be mentioned on your description as it wasn't really obvious from the photo how small the room was. We mainly used the French windows as this was close to where we parked the car so could let dog in and out without using leash.luckily we always take lots of old towels and fleece blankets for drying dog n spreading over light coloured carpets and seating areas and for leaving outside wet or dirty shoes on. Maybe something like a small tarpaulin or extra doormats would be useful for clients who don't think of bringing old towels. Or outside box for storing muddy boots and coats. Our towels which we left at french doors were really muddy by end of our stay. Could have done with coat hooks in the entrance hall. We had to hang all 4 coats over the bannister which would have meant they wouldnt have dried had we had wet weather.Double bed was a little hard but better than being too soft and every sleeper is different, so you cant please everyone. Bath panel could have done with lick of paint. Need to warn visitors that hot water is instantly scalding hot, except in shower where it was only luke warm. Most cottages we've stayed at leave a small welcome basket of essentials eg teabags, coffee sachets, few biscuits, milk, etc like in a hotel. So on arrival visitors can enjoy a cuppa. We brought the tea n biscuits but had to go out for milk. Salt and pepper would also be very useful for one's slam in the oven meals.

Location
Comfortable beds & sofas
Access to outdoor games
Very steamy kitchen when cooking
No small foodstuffs like salt and pepper, sugar and oil available in the cottage which is unusual. Would have been fine if we'd known in advance because we could have brought them with us but having to buy them when there was a little annoying.

Spacious, clean comfortable, and well equipped. A lovely, very quiet location, not far outside Sidford. Lovely rural walking directly from the property. Easy parking. We look forward to staying there again.

Easy unfussy arrival and property takeover. Owners left us to it and very quiet, relaxed start to a lovely break away.
Property has everything needed and was spotlessly clean. We were upgraded for free the larger Cottage The Shippen.
Our Dogs had a ball playing in the meadow, the private Garden and were free.
Will be back here for sure, thanks Rosie & Andy, great hosts.
All good really, just a bit picky about the cloth rug in Living room that just rucked up easily and was a bit of a trip hazard, we rolled it up for our stay.

A beautiful group of cottages in a rural yet convenient location. Clean comfortable and peaceful. The owners are lovely people, on hand to help if you should need any. They supplied a fire pit for us to use in the garden which really made it for us.
"Magic" the cat was a regular visitor.
I work away from home almost always, and I've never felt so welcomed. Im planning a holiday there soon as i was so taken by the place and its owners.

Location was lovely and property was stunning!

We were self-catering so first question irrelevant.
The location was beautiful, nestled in a verdant valley and the Boswell farm buildings were full of historic interest.
The accommodation was clean, warm, well equipped and surprisingly spacious (though still cosy) given the name, "Hayloft".
In short, it is delightful.
Only one small criticism: the references to maps on the website were difficult to download and the one map we did find had little information on it. however, this did not really matter as written instructions for directions were good and we had 1:25000 OS explorer maps of the area: even Google can't match these!
