We enjoyed our stay at the house. We had 9 people with plenty of beds left over. Would have liked more seating in the main living room so we could hang out together but we made it work. Nice place overall.

House was great!! 3 levels with king beds on all 3 plus numerous single beds for the kids was perfect for us. Roads up to the house were your typical mountain roads but driveway up to house was difficult with a narrow access. We had plans to cook, eat in, and play games so was a geeat vacation for us.

Nice clean property in seclusion! Tons of space for children and adults! Host was beyond hospitable! Thanks for a great stay!

Spacious house up a curvy mountain road. Great dining table with plenty of room for games & meals. Need to update furniture in main living area. A sectional would be nice in the space. Very quiet & roomy!

The cabin is beautiful and has everything you need! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here with a couple families and children over the New Years weekend and had a grand time! The property was very clean and extremely comfortable for sleeping arrangements for our group. The kids loved the bunk area downstairs and exploring/playing in the surrounding woods! The property managers, Arion and Wendy, were very responsive with any questions we had. Looking forward to visiting again!

Being from Florida we were in awe of the beautiful landscape. The first drive up was a little more exciting than we expected due to how dark it was, but once we were familiar with the location it was easy.
We loved the layout, our older kids stayed in the retreat downstairs and would play music and games late at night and we never heard them. We roasted marshmallows in the fire pit, cooked on the grill and even visited The Blowing Rock.
We had a great time and were very happy with the accommodations. Edelweiss Lodge memories will be forever cherished by our family.

The home is great, no real complaints. Although, there were a few dead crickets and roaches when we arrived and lots of dust under the beds, many cleaning teams forget about the normally unseen spots. The camera focused on the outdoor space is a little CREEPY but, somewhat understanding. In my experience using VRBO A lot in this area of NC and also Highland, Cashiers and Sylva, this rental home is a bit over priced for what it is. Location is great for Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock and Boone maybe even a day trip to Biltmore. The host is pretty responsive and the wifi is excellent if you choose NOT to "unplug" while on your get away...

We returned here this fall, stayed last fall as well. It's about an equal drive for family from Raleigh and family from Columbia, room for everyone. We were able to execute an early Thanksgiving dinner for 11 on site, can't do that with most vacation rentals in our experience.

Edelweiss rental property was probably the nicest rental we’ve ever experienced. The house and location were fantastic. Communication with the owner could not have been easier. The entire family was happy with the accommodations. I would highly recommend it.

Property is nestled in the mountains of western NC. Beautiful setting in forest .. fall colors were just awesome to view and porch was relaxing. Loved listening to the creek in the distance.

Great location. We would have preferred more of a view from the deck, but it was still beautiful.
Drive on the Blueridge Parkway was absolutely stunning!
We would classify this cabin as a nice cabin, but do not agree that it is a luxurious cabin. It is well stayed in and could use some basic updates (lots of stains on the carpet in upstairs bedrooms).
Didn’t care for all the “rules” (limit two bags of trash, for example).
Our visit was nice and enjoyable-just don’t depend on the TVs working.

Great accommodations for our party of 10. Close proximity to downtown blowing rock. The cabin was clean and as described. We would definitely stay here again.

It is a very steep drive up to the house, which is fine without weather. I booked the stay, but my wife has the VRBO account, and did not have her password during the visit, so we could not respond to your inquiries. I didn't have much electronic, which is kinda the point of going there anyway. It's a great place, and we love BR.

We recently stayed at this property for a family reunion of 12 and had a wonderful time. The cabin is perfect and exactly as described. Updated amenities, nice porch access, everything in good working order and fast response/easy communication with the owners ahead of time. Highly recommended!!

Our family enjoyed our long weekend at the Edelweiss retreat. You are 15 minutes away from downtown Blowing Rock. Breakfast on the porch was so peaceful after a good nights sleep in the cozy beds. Hiking and other attractions are a short drive away. The home is up windy roads so we planned early dinners if eating in town so travel back was in daylight. Overall a quiet and relaxing getaway.

This inside was wonderful and there was enough parking area. We had little kids with us so we had to be sure to stay with them on the balconies as it was quite a drop down. This house/Cabin was a great gathering place for our family. We had all the sleeping accommodations that we could wish for. We were so happy that the outside grill had gas. We really had a wonderful time. The following is only intended to help: My son rounded up batteries that worked from other TV remotes in the house and came up with enough to run the TV on the main level TV in the Great Room. Other wise the remotes throughout the house needed batteries. I intended to buy some but just did not get to the store.

LOVED this home! Would definitely recommend. Exactly as described - only even better in person! Very very clean. And comfortable beds! Owner checked in to make sure all was ok - and was super-quick to respond when we had a question. Very private setting yet close to everything. We saw a mommy & baby deer walking just down the road from the house in the middle of the day! Perfect getaway for our family.

Me & some friends from around the country met up for a secluded long weekend in nature. The house was beautiful & the layout was ideal for us. The location is amazing! We only ran into issues getting here because the VRBO app wasn’t letting me open the hosts directions & the address listed took us to what looked like an old driveway. The host was very responsive & patient with us in helping us find our way. When we arrived it was well worth it!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our week in the mountains. We were there for our granddaughters graduation but took a full week to enjoy the area. This is a great location for shopping, restaurants, and hiking. The house is perfect for families to gather. The layout works well for both interaction as well as privacy. We would rent this by house again and hope that others families enjoy it as much as we did!

The house and location were awesome. There was plenty of room, yet cozy and inviting. Everything was as advertised; no surprises, and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful. All in all a great time with family.

We had a wonderful extended weekend with both our children and their families. The house had three living areas where the families could have their own space or we could all come together. All had a great time doing various activities and we look forward to staying here again soon. The owners were great and checked in several times to ensure we had everything we needed. Thank again for sharing your home with us.

The property was exactly as described. The owner checked in several times through the app. We found a different way into town versus how we came in which made a world of difference. There was plenty of room for us to be separate or together during our time in the cabin. The weather was extremely good so no problems getting up the hill or on the road around the cabin.

My family does an annual trip for New Years and we decided on the mountains for this trip. This cabin is amazing and the amenities are great. Although the weather was bad while we were there, we still managed to have fun. We spent two days in Downtown Blowing Rock which is a quick 15 minute drive. When we weren’t in town, we played games and sat on the deck. There were 6 of us and this cabin felt like a mansion. There is plenty of space for everyone and you still have your privacy. I would definitely stay at this cabin again.

Great home to spend time in the mountains. Plenty of space for everyone, and host was great to work with!

Lovely, secluded, babbling brook to wake and go to sleep to. What's not to love?

We enjoyed staying at the cabin. I liked the fact that there were 3 very nice bedrooms almost as nice as the master. It was decorated so tastefully with lots of nice touches. There was plenty of space to spread out. Unfortunately it was too cold to sit out on the deck. We will have to come in the summer sometime. It was close enough to Blowing Rock to go into for dinner and/or shopping, but out enough to feel like you are really in the mountains. It was very cozy. The wi-fi was not great, but it wasn’t a problem. I would recommend a car like a SUV for the gravel road going up to the cabin.

Had a great stay in the mountains. The hill getting up is a bit steep but didn’t have issues. House was even prettier in person and great for families or girls trip. A quick drive to Blowing Rock/Boone. It was a little hard getting Ubers especially when the weather was rainy so I’d recommend venturing out during the day and staying in at night. Hosts were very easy to contact with any questions or concerns.

We love visiting Blowing Rock for their downtown Halloween celebration each year. So glad we chose to stay here! House was great, had everything we needed and the hosts were very responsive and easy to work with! Downstairs area was perfect for the kids. The area was nice and quiet, yet close enough to town when we needed to run out for necessities. Would absolutely stay here again!

I think we heard three cars pass by during our three day visit. Plenty of space for our party of 11 adults and teens. The place is in good shape, had everything we needed, we would gladly return. My Toyota sedan, loaded with people, a dog, and luggage, had no problem getting up the road or the driveway.

Edelweiss was the perfect escape from the Florida heat and humidity! Close enough to Blowing Rock and Boone to pick up essentials and treats at Stick Boy Bread, yet seemed miles away from the Labor Day weekend crowds. The house has plenty of space, really nice bathrooms and a great kitchen. Enjoyed cooking in dinner and grilling on the deck. Internet in the mountains wasn’t perfect, but better than expected. The owner was super responsive when we had a minor problem and even upgraded the Tv package so we could watch the US Open! Would highly recommend Edelweiss…just be prepared for the steep gravel road to the property!

We came for a long weekend. Beautiful home, upgraded as described. Plenty of room.
It is in nature and you will not hear cars! On the other hand it is close to blowing rock and instacart and Uber eats delivers
Thé last stretch is a climb so recommend a 4 wheel drive if you have
Overall very pleased. Responsive owner .
Great getaway for families

Short and wet - but sweet!
My family, some from Chesterfield, VA, some from Powhatan, VA, and some from Rock Hill, SC, chose this property for a short four-day meetup. We do not regret it!
Our bunch consisted of 6 adults and 4 kids, ages 10-14. We found the house very comfortable for our number, and could have accommodated a couple more! The fact that it has 3 king master BR's for the 3 adult couples was the selling point for us.
Our 4 days got a little damp on occasion, but we were able to tour the great Blowing Rock shops and hike the Glen Burney Falls trail; eat some great BBQ at Woodlands; enjoy a full day of kayaking, fishing, and picnicking at Price Lake; walk the Mile High Swinging Bridge at Grandfather Mountain, and also enjoy the nature center and other facilities there.
It was a joy each day to return to Edelweiss. (One night was even cool - and dry - enough to enjoy a fire in the firepit and listen to the grandchildren tell spooky stories.) The 3 levels of the house allowed us all to spread out enough to enjoy card or board games, engage in some cutthroat foosball tournaments, or just sit on the deck and enjoy each other's company in a very beautiful setting!
Our thanks to hosts Arion and Wendy! As other have said here, they are extremely responsive and considerate hosts, and made our stay a memorable one. We will return!

Ideal Family Gathering Spot
We were delighted with our choice of Edelweiss Lodge for a family gathering with our two adult children and their families. There were only seven of us, but the house can accommodate twice as many (or more) with all the extra single and bunk beds! We loved the three levels of accommodations, giving each family its own "suite" with bedroom(s), bath, and living area. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is large and well-equipped. The two decks were pleasant, and we utilized the gas grill. Be aware that the house is located more than two miles up the mountain, and the last bit of road is unpaved and quite steep (but didn't hinder access in the summer). A quick trip to the store is out of the question and we learned to plan ahead and make only one trip "in and out" per day. Blowing Rock and surrounding areas are beautiful and provided us everything we were interested in for the week. From an ATV tour, zip lining, tubing, and hiking, to a moonshine tasting, gem mining, dining, and shopping, there was plenty for everyone in our party to enjoy. Check in and check out were effortless. We did need to adjust to the sporadic cell and internet service. We could usually make and receive calls from the deck (rarely from inside the house). We could sometimes get online and sometimes not. Resetting the router and modem sometimes helped and sometimes didn't. None of us needed to "work" while on vacation so, in general, we were fine. We highly recommend this house for an enjoyable stay!
