The Neighborhood
This home is located in Salt Lake City's Marmalade District on the west side of Capitol Hill. An extremely walkable neighborhood, the Marmalade District was named so because early street names reflected the fruit-bearing plants and trees imported and planted there by its early residents. Settled in the early days of Salt Lake City, the Marmalade District is distinguished from other neighborhoods by mature landscaping and a surprising variety of vintage residential buildings. Within a single one-block area are almost as many styles of architecture as exist in the entire Avenues Historic District.
Getting Around
Ideally located just a 15 minute walk from downtown Salt Lake City. The local UTA Trax station is just a few blocks away.

Was a great place for all and great location.

What a great "home" for a SLC visit. six senior (60+) guys got together for the NCAA tourney at the Delta center. Walked everywhere Delta Center, Temple Square, Gateway Plaza. There's a coffee shop/Deli on the corner. Everyone had their own comfy, large bdrm. The house is a combo of Victorian and Modern Farmhouse; awesome kitchen. Even the bathrooms were nicely appointed. As the title says, it was "home" as soon as we walked in. The dining room led to enjoying great meals and conversation. Would definitely stay again!

We came for a concert for my sisters a birthday. Unfortunately our concert got cancelled but this home gave us a gathering place and opportunity to spend time together. The home is charming and huge!! There were 11 adults and we all had ample space to relax and sleep. The beds are comfortable, space is clean. There is a large deck at the back of the house that was great! Would definitely stay here again.

We arrived later in the evening when we checked in. Smooth process. Online the pictures don’t do justice. This house is marvelous!
Built in the 1900’s~ lots of energy & rich history. This mansion must have been so fun to live in with a family of 6 or more. Our group enjoyed the neighborhood, close walking to some local coffee shops& small bites to eat. Some parts of the house need some extra TLC. The deck outside was a nice touch. Wouldn’t hurt if it got a fresh stain.
Overall we loved this house, plenty of space and room for large groups.

We used the house for a Board retreat, and this house offered plenty of beds along with enough rooms to give people privacy when needed. House was as described and owners were responsive when queried.

Lovely house, very clean. Beds were comfortable. Nice kitchen, lots of room. We really enjoyed our stay. My only complaint was lack of communication. I sent messages that weren't answered and called once and received no call back. Everything turned out ok but communication is key to a great stay.

We loved our weekend with our 3 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, and 2 granddaughters! Many meals around the large dining table, movies in the living room, and hanging out in the kitchen! Loved the personality of each bedroom and could have spent hours imagining the family that built and lived in the home. We will return. Location is perfect for being close to downtown without being right in the middle of downtown.

Really clean, adorable inside, home. This may have been the most well-equipped home we’ve stayed in. It had everything we needed and more. Very comfortable and homey. We would definitely stay again!

Pros and Cons
I loved the location, appearance and size of this listing. We were a group of 14. The only problem was that the house only has 1 AC unit and it cannot keep up with such a large home during hottest times of the year. The upstairs temp ran about 82 when the thermostat was set to 70 and it eventually stopped working all together. The property managers did their best to keep us comfortable by bringing over 3 window AC units that we used downstairs during the day and upstairs at night. They also were willing to pay for an AC repairman to come out on the 4th of July weekend but he was unable to get the needed part. I think using the window AC units upstairs in addition to the regular AC unit, the house would be cool enough.

Beautiful House
This house was absolutely gorgeous. We stayed here with our bridal party because we were getting married in town. It was super roomy and very comfortable. The kitchen is gorgeous and they had tons of extra snacks and things in the house. There was plenty of seating for dinners and we just loved it. The outside trash cans were already full when we got there but that was genuinely the only down side if you can even call it that. They had a snow shovel for us out back and there it tons of parking here. Would absolutely stay again!

Welcome back
Members in the family had talked about staying at an Air B&B so when looking to make reservations, I chose this location. It had the most rooms for the traveling family members. We all enjoyed our stay. We had accommodations for our grown children and were able to visit in a relaxed environment. I recommend staying at this location over any hotel. I would stay at this location again.

Conveniently located to many Utah attractions!
We had never been to Utah and wanted to experience lots of things. We were able to go to Soldier Holllow snowtubing, Park City skiing, Temple Square, Jazz arena, Bonneville Salt Flats, Antelope Island and more! This house was close enough to all to be able to easily enjoy the activities without the stress of lengthy driving! It was also very walkable to downtown and the beautiful Capitol. The house was well stocked with coffee, toilet paper, hair dryers, etc.. the owners were extremely responsive and helpful!!

Spacious, Comfortable and Convenient
Our group of 8 women friends stayed here for 2 nights. Beautiful older home with Victorian details, but new baths and kitchen. Plenty of room, beds and bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen (only kierig for coffee). Enjoyed the back deck. We walked to local market, brewery and restaurants. Also walked for sightseeing to Temple Square and the State Capital.

Excellent Stay
This was the most lovely place and it perfectly fit our needs. We had wonderful space to spread out and rest well with all the bedrooms and bathrooms in the home. We were able to meet together in the common spaces. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bathrooms were all wonderful. There were plenty of towels and amenities provided for us. The beds were comfortable. The property is walking distance to some fantastic places to eat and short drives to other great places for dining. We would absolutely stay here again!

Great Home!
This property was like taking a trip back in time but with all the modern conveniences. We loved the beautiful fireplaces throughout the home. The large rooms and table were perfect for gathering to eat and play games. Great access to downtown
Salt Lake. We would rent it again next time we need a place in Salt Lake.

A great place to stay in Salt Lake City
We had a family group of 10 adults and their 10 children. The house accommodations worked well for us. The kitchen is big and has lots of items available. The other rooms are all large too. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms well stocked, except we couldn’t find wash clothes. The neighborhood is not in great shape but we did not have any problems. The house is old, but that is part of the attraction. One granddaughter said it must be haunted, but in a good way with friendly ghosts. LOL. There is a great coffee shop in walking distance. For some reason, after we had our reservation, it never showed up on the VRBO app. I was able to send a message to the owner to communicate so it worked out.
We will use this house again next time we are all in Salt Lake City together. Very happy with our stay.

Wonderful!
We were excited to get together with family to celebrate Christmas. We unfortunately had to reschedule for after the holiday and the property managers were more than Accommodating and understanding. The house turned out to be a perfect solution for our group. Plenty of space and beds, great location and wonderfully stocked with kitchen essentials, toiletries, towels and other necessities. We had no complaints and are already looking at dates to come back next year!

Comfortable house
House is great. Neighborhood is a bit sketchy and the yard terribly unkempt so upon arrival, it’s a bit worrisome. But house is very comfortable, to include the beds. Great house for a group and centrally located to freeways.
