Wonderful Everything

Rita and her husband are the kindest most beautiful people. Her husband came down the hill trying to find us incase we got lost enroute. They did everything to make us comfortable

!! BEWARE of additional charges !!

We booked a 2 bed apartment for 2 adults and 1 child 10 months before our stay. 7 months before our stay, I contacted the host Rita via booking.com to notify her that 2 additional adults (our parents) were coming to join us. Rita confirmed by booking.com messenger that this was totally fine as the apartment (which accommodates 5) was big enough for all of us. Rita made no mention of additional charges or the need to amend booking details. On arrival, Rita demanded extra money for the 2 additional adults, initially requesting 100% additional in cash for the 2 extra adults. She eventually came down to 50% extra which equated to €700 extra. To be clear, this booking was not for a hotel or B&B but for self catered apartment. I appreciate a small additional per person charge to cover towels, extra energy etc but €700 more with no advance warning is incredibly unfair. The host also said her costs had gone up since we booked 10months ago but isn’t this the point of booking in advance? The host has chosen to fix the price at the time of booking. There were no additional booking charges on booking.com’s system so if we had updated the reservation with 4 adults prior to arrival, there would have been no additional charge as far as booking.com were concerned. If we had known there were additional charges in advance, we probably would have accepted and budgeted it in or made alternative arrangements but to be sprung with significant additional costs on arrival is totally unacceptable behaviour from the host. Messages via booking.com even though recorded don’t seem to count for much. If you choose to stay here after reading this then please be aware that you may be hit with additional charges for which booking.com will offer you as the customer no support. After 6+ calls with booking.com who refused to mediate or negotiate with the host, we were left with no option but to pay the additional charge as there were no suitable alternative accommodations available in the area.

Great for families

It was a great place to stay for a family of 4, with cooking and clothes washing facilities. Close to the beach but in a quiet location.

In the newer part of Monterosso but not really a problem.

Exceptional

location, cleanliness, well appointed. Host Rita and her husband greeted us when we arrived and gave us helpful information both about the accommodations and the town. She even thought to have drinks and snacks for us. She is lovely and so is the place. We would absolutely stay there again.

Beautiful apartment close to the beach and amenities with the friendliest hosts. Perfect for families or those seeking a

location of the property was excellent, walking distance from the train station and just off the beach. Rita and her husband met us at the property and were so welcoming and helpful. we stayed in 5 different areas around Italy on our trip and this was all of our favourites, highly recommend.

Nothing, Rita had thought of everything to include in the property.

Near perfection in paradise location

A fantastic location and host that goes the extra yard to see you have a great time. Rita would be one of the best hosts we have ever had. We arrived late so couldn't get a meal. Rita had left some wine, chips, biscuits and milk for us. we survived till morning. Thanks Rita :)

Impeccable

This apartment is the best in this trip. Location is excellent, a few minutes walk from station. House is big, comfortable and clean, well equipped bath room and kitchen. We like this lovely holiday home especially the hosts are so kind, welcome gift (wine & snack), early check-in and bags drop after check-out, useful tourist information and suggestion.

overall a worthy place.

It was very well located but because we visited during the winters, the heat radiators had timings and it was uncomfortable at times. Many steps to reach to the flat.

Fantastic hosts that make you feel so welcome.

I really wanted to give this property 10 out of 10 mainly because Rita and Giovanni are fantastic people. Giovanni met us at the train station to escort us to the apartment and Rita has such a bubbly personality. The reason I can’t give 10 / 10 is because lounge area of the apartment, the kitchen and bathroom were uncomfortably cold at night when the heating was turned off. This was due to heating restrictions currently in place but it could have been such a cheap fix by providing a portable fan heater or two. The bedrooms had reverse cycle air con so they were able to keep warm. The property itself, there are a number of steps if you have heavy luggage there can be too many steps. The apartment was clean, tidy and well presented. Rita provided a few extra goodies, a bottle of wine and some snacks.

definitely stay here!

the apartment was so charming and so close to everything!! the bed was super comfortable and the house was stocked with everything we would need and more!! Rita met us at the train station and showed us to the property. it was super kid friendly as well!!

Beautiful apartment, fully furnished with everything you’d find in a normal home. 4 minutes from the station. Rita, the owner, was exceptional. So friendly and helpful. Will definitely come again.

The Costamare apartment is clean, comfortable, quiet and well located. we would stay here again.

the property is clean and well cared for. the owners are kind and helpful.

They should have beach towels to use for the beach- we didn’t have many bath towels and so just used a hand towel to dry off at the beach.

Great place, great view, lovely hosts - highly recommend

Our family loved this apartment, the balcony was an oasis every night to watch the sun go down. Its so close to the beach, train station and restaurants. Rita even met us and walked us to the property.

lovey traditional apartment - great for families as there is a washing machine and kitchen. it’s walking distance to a playground, shops and the beach.

Location was great. Easy walk from the train station. Had a view of the sea & a great balcony from which to enjoy it. Host left us some goodies too, which was nice.

Wonderful apartment and highly recommended.

This apartment was perfect for us. We loved the terrace and the living room where we could relax in the morning and in the evening after going out and seeing the towns. We loved the location. That apartment is bright and cheerful and spacious. We also liked the individual air conditioners in the bedrooms.

The beds were a little harder than we are used to, but we slept well.

Fantastic people. Fantastic homestay. Fantastic location.

Super sweet older couple were very professional and friendly. Place was large and immaculate. They let us use their beach umbrella and blanket, gave us tips for traveling around the area, and were present as soon as we arrived. Even gave us free drinks and cookies. Super reasonable price and great view with balcony. Would definitely stay again. 4 minutes from train station but quiet location.

Extremely unpleasant and unwelcoming!

Not much! Finding a restaurant that was available was a chore.

The property manager, Rita, was very rude and disrespectful. She used inappropriate language referring to us. We heard her continue talking badly about us even after she left. It left us feeling unhappy about our decision to stay there and we won't refer or return to this property.

Home away from home

Rita was the perfect host. She answered all my pre arrival questions promptly. Her husband met us on the road to escort us to the apartment. It is in a great location, 4-5 minutes from the train station and even closer to the beach. There is a small grocery store also very close by as well as restaurants. The apartment is in a quiet complex. It is spacious and was super clean. Rita had all kinds of goodies there for us, very kind. She was so warm and welcoming.

Superb

The hosts met us at the street, which was very helpful because the unit can be difficult to find alone. Rita also explained certain procedures and left us some wine and snacks. She also had a personalized message for us.

The floors were a bit dirty, so we definitely couldn't walk around barefoot. Though this could have been because earlier they'd had the windows open but there was very heavy rain, so as I understand it, the floors got wet and that could've dirtied them.

Highly recommended

Very cozy, clean and nice appartment in very good location. Super friendly and helpful owner. Rity even prepared some cookies, juice and wine for us. Parking is possible right across the street (private, not for free) if places are available.

Beds are not that comfortable and noisy.

Very clean and nicely decorated. Good location with a very friendly and helpful owner. Pretty big balcony with a bit of a sea view. Spacious, close to the station and the sea but well enough behind to be quiet, and if you are a very light sleeper the shutters help to cut the place of completely.

If I have to think of something, it’s close to the railway so sometimes you hear a train. But to be honest inside we never really noticed it.
