Had an amazing time with friends. The location was super convenient as we were able to walk to the pier. There was also a park right by the house, which was really helpful when traveling with a 3-year-old.
10.0 / 10.0
The house had more than enough room for my husband and me, our 21-year-old son, and golden retriever. The layout would be great for a couple of families with small children. It was beautifully decorated and nicely stocked with everything we needed. We loved playing cornhole in the fenced front yard with our dog watching nearby. I wish it had more of a backyard area, but the front was nice and roomy.
The location was great for walking down to the village and pier. There are lots of dog-friendly places to check out. We got takeout from CJ's Italian restaurant which was just okay. We really enjoyed our breakfast on the patio at Palm Coast Cafe.
It's not walking distance to a beach, but we made a trip over to Jekyll Island to see Driftwood Beach. It was worth the trip. We had fun searching for the Spirit Trees (at least I did), and climbing to the top of the lighthouse (my legs are still sore). Overall, it was a great place to relax for a long weekend.

Sugar Magnolia is a beautiful home with such character! We enjoyed looking around and finding the nooks and crannies of this house! The kitchen is better stocked than my home....more spices than I keep! We cooked 4 meals while on vacation and there was nothing that I needed and couldn't find. The master bedroom is worth the price of admission!! A comfy king bed, two closets with velvet hangers, a huge sitting area and the ensuite with two sinks and a ceiling fan! Ceiling fan in the bath...genius!! The front and side yard is manicured, beautifully landscaped and was the perfect place for our dogs. I sat on the front porch each morning drinking coffee while they roamed and I didn't have to worry about them escaping! The location could not be better! We walked to the pickle ball courts and dog park several times. We walked to breakfast one morning and dinner one evening. We rode bikes to the beach and around the neighborhoods. It was perfect! Thank you for a wonderful, pet friendly vacation!!

This house was perfect for us. Shops, dining, beach access, pier, and light house were all within a 5-10 minute walk. The house is older but beautifully decorated. The yard is immaculate and the landscaping is beautiful. The kitchen was stocked better than any VRBO rental that I have ever stayed in. My only concern, I hate to even mention it because we truly loved the house, was the air conditioner. We were there in early May and the temps reached the high 80s, so not really hot, but the air conditioner couldn't keep us as cool as we are used to. We set it to 70 and it stayed around 72 the entire time. The upstairs was the warmer area because it relied on a ductless mini type of air conditioner. We weren't super uncomfortable but I would think if your temps were in the upper 90s then you would be hot for sure. I would definitely rent this house again, however.

My husband, adult children and two grandchildren had a wonderful vacation here! The house and yard were clean and spacious; our multi-generational party of 8 people and a large dog had plenty of room. We also enjoyed the neighbourhood, filled with giant moss draped trees, opulent blooms and the clean, sandy beach nearby. St. Simon's is gorgeous, and for our large group, this house was perfect!

Pros: The location could not be more perfect. An easy stroll in various directions leads to the village, the pier, a massive park and playground, a dog park. A short drive to the beach for daily walks (it was February). The house is very spacious and supplied with everything we needed. We had our little dog with us and appreciated the fully fenced yard.
Cons: We were aware of a strong smell of pet urine on the rugs and mats in the main room and entrance. I appreciate how tricky it must be to avoid these sorts of things when a rental is pet-friendly, and we are grateful to find places like this, so we were happy to adjust to it. Definitely not a deal-breaker, considering how perfect the place was overall.
The texting communication with the rental agency was cut off mid-conversation on the first day as it coincided with their end of day. At 5pm, mid-question, an automated text was sent to say the office was closed. We were having trouble with the TV and also had a question about a kitchen appliance... so not terribly important issues (we survived!).
More importantly, though, a lawn care company came to spray pesticide in the front yard while we were out, and we weren't given a heads up. I only happened to notice the little sign in the ground a couple of days later, warning people and pets to keep off. Our dog had been spending time in the yard every day, and I was concerned (we all survived that too).
Overall a truly excellent rental and we had a terrific week!

This was the most pet friendly vacation home we’ve stayed in. The fenced yard was perfect for our mini goldendoodle. The location is perfect and walkable to all the shops and restaurants in the village. Great place to stay, park the car and relax for a few days!

This home was a great choice for our extended family of 5. One grandchild (4) son, daughter-in-law and my husband and I. It was an easy walk to the Village with its restaurants and shops. You could see the Village ice cream shop from the front yard! Despite the proximity to shops and restaurants it was very quiet and private. The fenced yard was a hit with our Boston Terrier and the Boston Terrier decorations made us all feel at home! Plenty of room for all generations without feeling cramped. We would hope to rent this home again!

This is such a cute home and was very dog friendly even with a fenced in yard. Added plus for the claw footed tub in the master bathroom. Also, within walking distance to the village which is a huge bonus! I will be back!

The place was clean and comfortable. The main floor shower hot water faucet handle fell into the tub and broke. A maintenance person found a replacement on the second day. The laundry was a great help for after beach time. Our family had plenty of space and enjoyed our time there. Great location to village restaurants and shops, within walking distance. Front yard beautiful and fenced in for dog.

Great location
We had a wonderful 6-week stay. The location was so convenient. While it was essential that we had a fenced yard for our Westie, this front yard was also beautifully landscaped. The kitchen was well equipped. The beds were comfortable and we had everything that we needed. Loved it! We wanted to stay again next year, but it was booked for our desired dates.

Sea Island golf trip
This house was great, we walked to shops and restaurants. Fortunately, we were able to golf around the rain episodes, but did not get to enjoy the cornhole and outdoor games and patio area which seemed very nice. We would look to rent this house again for sure.

Great stay!
We had a wonderful time at Sugar Magnolia! It was just off the main pier area with lots of restaurants and shops to go to. So, you got the privacy of nice house in a cozy neighborhood, with the convience of being right downtown. The house was nice and spacious and had everything we needed. The only downside was the inconsistency in the hot water. It took up to 15+ minutes some nights with the shower going full blast on hot before the water got warm, and then it would suddenly turn cold again with no warning. Five minutes later it would be hot again. Otherwise, we had no other problems and would definitely stay there again!

Great family vacation!
We had a wonderful time! The house was comfortable, clean, and we all had enough space in our bedrooms. Location was perfect so we could walk or bike to the shops and there was a park close by to walk the dogs. Thanks.

Perfect Stay!
We treated our two grown children, their spouses, and two grandchildren to this trip to St. Simons and the Sugar Magnolia cottage was perfect! The spacious interior had lots of room for our grands to run around and the littlest took his first steps here (first without coaxing). Our family was impressed at how much there was to do close by. The kitchen was well-equipped for all our needs. Thanks for the memories! We would love to stay here again.

Great location
The house was very clean all around. The location was hard to beat. A one or two minute walk and you’re on Mallery street, but with that being said it was still very quiet at the house. Would definitely stay here again.

Family trip with trusty dog
Our family was very happy with these lodgings. We loved being close to the Village and the restaurants, shops and pier. Our pup loved the fenced in yard and that we had lots of space in the sun room area to place his crate. We did drive instead of walk to the beach and chose to go to the Coast Guard Station access which was lovely and wide and had a flat access and bathrooms. We rented bikes from Two Brothers and recommend them. We enjoyed dining at the Sand Castle for breakfast, CJs for takeout pizza, the Half Shell for seafood and Frosty's Grill and Shakes on multiple occasions for lunch and treats (a block away!) The master bedroom and bath were huge and lovely. The upstairs loft was very quaint and cute. The second downstairs bedroom was very tight space wise. Three bathrooms were much appreciated. Kitchen was quite nice. We would definitely return to this property and recommend it to others.

Comfortable house in convenient location
The house was very comfortable. Our teenagers loved the loft. The master suite is spacious. It is very close to the village and lighthouse. There is also a lovely park two streets over. The kitchen could use use some attention as the cabinets are disorganized and crammed with random items. The landscaping could use some work as well. It would have been nice to spend more time outside but there is no grass.

Great location
This was our first visit to St. Simons and we very much enjoyed it. We loved the laid-back beach town vibe (which was palpable even in February), great restaurants (I think our favorites were Palmer's and Half Shell) and wonderful community parks (esp. down at the pier). The house was in an ideal location to walk right into town, which was great. (And for a first time visitor, definitely glad we stayed here vs. Redfern Village.) The decor was a little dated and everything was a little worn out (esp. outside), but it was clean and had more than enough room for just three of us. Again, the location was really great and we appreciated having our own space (vs. a hotel or condo).

All in all, a great place
Excellent location with great fenced yard. extremely clean and well stocked home. Would definitely stay again. Only suggestions would be a better coffee maker (the current one takes nearly 30 min to brew a pot of coffee) and better responsiveness from property manager. TV's all stopped working on our last night and I texted the prop manager to the # listed on the instructions...no one ever responded. We made do without TV but it was a bit of a disappointment on our last night as we wanted to watch a movie.

Great Christmas getaway with the family.
Everything as described. There were only 4 of us, but there was plenty of room for more.
We’d definitely stay here again.
