About this cabin rental
WE ARE TAKING RESERVATIONS (no damage to the property.) DOVETAILS IS READY FOR YOUR STAY! Dovetails is located in the heart of Historic Flat Rock. The cabin is a clean, fully equipped log home conveniently located five (5) minutes to Hendersonville NC - sixteen (16) miles from Asheville Regional Airport and just three (3) miles from US Hwy. I-26. You are within walking distance of local bakeries and restaurants and the Flat Rock Park where you can enjoy walking trails, and playgrounds. The neighborhood is quiet and a beautiful place to walk your pet or take a leisurely stroll. Pets are always welcome with no pet fee. Your reservation comes complete with fresh premium linens and towels, paper products, garbage service, firewood and basic toiletries. 100mbs Wi-Fi, DIRECTV, and Netflix are all included with your stay.
There are two (2) master suites, each at opposite ends of the home to provide optimum privacy. Each suite has an en-suite bath and private covered porch. Master one (#1) has a King size bed and Master two (#2) has two Queen size beds. There is also a pull out sofa with a Queen mattress in front of the wood burning fireplace.
Dovetails is equipped with 3 large TV’s, all with DIRECTV and access to Netflix. The Wi-fi is wireless and 100mbs.
Bedrooms include large closets and dressers. Each suite has a TV, an alarm clock, bedside access to plug-in’s and USB charging ports. Each master suite is individually climate controlled for your comfort.
En-Suite bathrooms have double vanities with large mirrors, large tile showers and hair dryers. Makeup towels are provided in addition to regular bath towel sets. You will have access to extra towels and linens during your stay. Basic toiletries are provided.
The Kitchen is fully equipped with basic everyday cooking utensils and cutlery. There are storage containers for your convenience as well. A gas grill is available to use on the back deck. There are two sitting areas for dining. One six (6) person table inside and one six (6) person table outside on the back deck. You will have use of the front loading clothes washer and dryer, laundry supplies; as well as an iron and ironing board. Dovetails is stocked with basic cleaning and garbage supplies for your use.
Enjoy the wood burning fireplace or head outside to huddle around the outdoor fire kettle. Firewood is provided for your stay. Dovetails is on a one (1) acre lot surrounded by woods. The Village of Flat Rock is just 0.5 miles away and is connected to Dovetails by walking / biking trails. The Village has a movie cinema, coffee shop, BBQ shack and shops. Flat Rock is also home to the NC state theatre The Flat Rock Playhouse and the Carl Sandburg National Historic Site. Dupont and Pisgah Forests are close by and great for fishing, hiking, biking, climbing, paddling, camping and sightseeing.
Check-in is available 24 hours a day. Prior to your reservation you will receive a Property Information booklet. This will contain your entry codes, Wi-fi passwords and more. There is plenty of parking on site.
Upon arrival you will receive a complimentary gift along with local maps and guidebooks.

We enjoyed our stay at Dovetails, and highly recommend it to others as a clean, comfortable cabin in a quaint little mountain town. Its location is wonderful, as you are a short 3 minute drive to the Village of Flat Rock, and also very convenient to Hendersonville & Pisgah Forest, for hiking, tubing, waterfall explorations, and orchards galore! We loved being so close to everything. The hosts are kind and attentive, and you can tell they truly care about their guests and the property. Our experience felt warm & personal, and not corporate like some rentals can be. Flat Rock Village is adorable, the ambiance is beautiful, and the restaurants are all delicious! Our only minor disappointment was that we were under the impression that the cabin is “connected” to walking trails to town. It should be noted that the start of the trail is actually at the end of the road behind an apartment complex, and not actually on the property. It was a bit more of a walk than anticipated, so we opted to drive to town instead (mostly because of the rain). Not a big deal, but thought it should be noted. This cabin made it so easy to relax with our family for a peaceful vacation. It rained pretty much the entire 5 nights of our trip, and we still enjoyed our stay so much. We would not hesitate to stay here again if we are in the area!

We had an awesome weekend at Dovetails. It was our 39th anniversary and we couldn’t have had a better place to celebrate. A beautiful log home that is private and quiet yet very convenient to the area attractions. We look forward to returning soon!

This property was amazing and we will definitely be back! The location was wonderful. The property was clean and thoughtfully set up with all the extras. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of towels. Hairdryers in the bathrooms. Firewood stocked for the beautiful fire pit. Extra pet bowls for the dogs. My daughters (age 11 and 15) loved the screened in porch with string lights. We played card games and board games stocked in the living room (Man Bites Dog was such a hit we had to order one for our house!). We enjoyed the coffee table books (photo book with the dog photos was especially loved!). Very comfortable with easy access to everything. We walked into town through the trails to get breakfast. Can’t say anything negative. We will definitely rent again!

This home is ideal with all the amenities anyone could want.The home is settled among the trees and the privacy is wonderful eventhough it is in a conveniently located neighborhood. The unique architectural features throughout the home and the large fireplace are very cozy . It is convenient to the Flat Rock Playhouse which is a must do along with a visit to Carl Sandburg's home. I highly recommend this home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. It is so quiet and peaceful that you feel far away from everything yet it is within 5 minutes of restaurants, shops and parks. It was very clean and our bed was super comfortable. We loved hanging out on the porches and listening to the sounds of nature. We can't wait to return!

Dovetails is a beautiful cabin!! It was so clean and perfect for our family. The location is convenient to restaurants and shopping but secluded enough for rest and relaxation. We had a wonderful stay with our family! We will definitely be back!

Wonderful Cabin getaway
Property is amazing! Split floor plan with main living area between the two bedrooms. Rear deck is large and inviting. Wrap around front porch to both bedrooms with their own comfortable chairs to enjoy either early morning coffe or a glass of wine sunset.

relaxing time on the back deck
We really enjoyed staying at Dovetails. Personally I love how the owners blended modern with antique, especially the piece of furniture between the kitchen and den. However, with a beautiful sunny day, my favorite place was the back deck. We had few questions and when we did, Margaret Ann was very responsive. My only regrets: I wish could have stayed longer and I forgot to sign the guest book :-(
