About this house rental
Nice cottage located in the center of Popham Beach. Breath taking views of the ocean from the living room, dining room, kitchen, and master bedroom. Private beach! 125 feet of prime beach frontage. Complete kitchen remodel just completed Jan 2023!
The house sits on the beach with the property leading up to the high tide mark. Enjoy the ocean views from the deck while you work on your tan or enjoy a good book. The property features one bedroom downstairs with a queen bed. One 3/4 bathroom downstairs. Master bedroom has a king and a twin. 3rd bedroom has a full size bed and set of bunks. Wood burning stove to keep you warm in the living room. Also a newly added rinnai heater to warm the entire cottage. Nice large front deck and outdoor shower in the back of the house. Kitchen completely renovated during winter of 2023!

I can’t say enough what a great location this was; on the beach and a short walk to Popham State Park. Beach house was perfect for us with beach chairs and a kitchen that had all the dishes and cooking ware we needed. Host was very responsive to our questions. Would stay here again.

This house is a gem! Tucked away on a private road with a view of the ocean, two lighthouses, and surrounding islands. Quiet neighborhood. The private beach was perfect! Beautiful dark sand to walk on at low tide with few others on the beach. All owners had control of their dogs which is a big bonus as I have been to other beaches where people were not as courteous.
The house is well maintained and has a nicely equipt kitchen. Very clean. Comfortable couch. Lots of windows to open. Front deck is a great place to relax. There is nothing like falling asleep to the tide rolling in and out.

We’ve stayed at Popham beach before, but were still blown away by the beauty of the sandy beach. Especially when it’s almost deserted!
The property was very nice and essentially as promised. The only thing I wished I had noticed that you must bring your own linens. Luckily I am on a cross country trip and had packed some! But it would be helpful if it was more prominently called out. (It was in the second email from the host which included check out instructions, but frankly, I missed it in a quick scan). Still, we were covered and had a great stay!

We enjoyed spending our spring break in Popham. The house was clean and comfortable. Didn't realize that we needed to bring our own sheets and towels until after we had made the reservation, but it was not a problem as we were driving from our home and a little extra luggage was not an issue. We loved having the private beach area right by the house!

This place was perfect for our weekend getaway and birthday celebration. Amazing location and the perfect location. Being early spring we enjoyed the woodstove. The cottage was extremely clean and perfectly equipped with everything we needed. We’ll be returning for sure.

What a wonderful time at Popham! The house was clean, with a modern kitchen (no dishwasher, but that wasn't a problem). The bathrooms were a bit dated and definitely rustic, but very clean. The tub/shower was especially clean. The bunk beds were a big hit with our kids! The views from the windows in the living area were phenomenal: clear views of Wood and Seguin Islands. The path to the beach was easy to use and directly in front of the cottage. The living area furniture was new, well-made, and functional. Thank you for a fantastic time at our favorite beach!

Grew up staying at Popham beach every summer for a week and have dreamt about taking my own kids. Finally made that happen and it was beautiful, peaceful, and just as I remembered. Our favorite part was going down to the beach at sunset-one night we were the only ones. This time of year the crowds are gone and you can still get some sunny warmer days. I even brought mittens for the little ones but we never needed them because we had the one last warmup during our stay. The only part I miss is having a fire on the beach but the town must regulate that now. The property was perfect for our needs. Hope to be back!

We stayed for 8 days at the cottage, and it truly is one of the best spots on the beach. Right center of Hunnewell, beautiful views from the front windows and even better down on the private beach. The cottage itself had most of what we needed to cook all our meals for the week, and was a grear spot to spend the week.We also brought along our dog who loved the walks on the beach and playing in the surf.
The host was very responsive and helpful on a few questions we had during our stay, responding to an email within a few hours.
We will definitely be considering staying again!

My husband and I spent last week at Pete's beautiful oceanfront cottage. The space has everything you need (bring towels and sheets!), beautiful views and sits close enough to the ocean to hear the waves. We both worked from the cottage some of the week and the wifi was fast and reliable. The house is on a very quiet dirt road and literally steps to the beach. The front deck is expansive and a nice place to relax with the pups. We went to the beach several times every day. The beach is very dog friendly, we were fortunate to have nice weather and walked for miles each day on the sand. Be on the lookout for sand dollars, they're relatively easy to find here. The area is quiet, peaceful and beautiful. If you are traveling outside of the summer months, there isn't much open but Bisson's Center store is only 10-15min away and has a good selection of groceries, sandwiches/pizza, etc if you're in need. Thank you Pete for sharing your home with us! We loved our stay and will look forward to returning.

Simple and clean accommodations, very dog friendly, comfortable for making a fire , relaxing and reading a book, playing backgammon, and cooking fun dinners over a glass of wine. Probably the nicest beach that we’ve visited on the East coast. Quaint neighbourhood along the beach (ie. No McMansions!). Thank you Peter, we look forward to making this an annual.

The location of the property is great! Just a short walk thru the beachgrass path to the best beach area around.
I went in the fall, so very deserted and quiet. Perfect!!!
The property itself is rustic and cozy and has everything you generally need. Very roomy, nice deck.
Luckily I have lots of friends and family in Maine to borrow linens and towels from as they are not provided.
Had a great time, I would recommend 100%.

The property is a delightful beach house allowing the sounds of the surf to lull us to sleep each night. House equipped with everything one could need, from a great wood stove to kitchen utensils including a oyster knife to a fully appointed Apple service for tv. We had a marvelous holiday with great beach weather and the only rain was on the day we left!

Beach Vacation
Cute and Comfortable, peaceful cottage with an ocean view. If your looking for a quite relaxing vacation this is definitely the place for you. Included everything that you need to be comfortable except for towels and bedding. If you rent this cottage in the fall be prepared to cook your meals as the restaurants and stores are at least 20 minutes to an half an hour drive.

We had a couple of cool days/nights, but the wood stove proved to be a nice amenity to the house. The rental's location could not be any more perfect. You are a 30 second walk to the beach with outstanding views. The location was not heavily congested with tourists (at least when we went), so if you like calmer areas, this is the place for you. The rental is close to two small islands that you can walk to during lo-tide. You can fish for stripers in the Kennebunk River or just stroll a good stretch of beach and just enjoy the surroundings. The rental's owners are friendly and offered any needed information about the area. We found the locals to be genuinely friendly as well. Maine, while it does not have a huge population, certainly does have very friendly folks and we appreciate it. We are thankful for such a beautiful and great state.

Absolutely Wonderful
My sisters and I have been coming to Popham for 14 years and have always stayed at Ocean View.With being closed I looked to see what else would suit some Grammies.So very comfy and quiet.Cottage was clean and inviting. We felt really at home.Hoping to return next July for 2 weeks..

Nothing beats having your own Beach to play in the water and star gaze at night.......it was so fun to leave our chairs all day and walk to one island one day and another the next.lovely to fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing. paradise!
