My family and I (14 people, 4 kids) had an amazing trip. Esma and the team were phenomenal, we could not have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend it, we would love to stay here again.

We were a group of 9 older adults. The Villa is expansive with large sitting areas and outdoor spaces and enough bedrooms with king beds and ensuites for everyone. There seemed to be inconsistencies between rooms: some (but not all) beds were uncomfortable, bed linens tired, bath linens not replaced in all rooms, etc. The bedrooms are large with seating areas and contained outdoor showers. The outdoor showers were lovely except they weren't cleaned and leaves, branches and dirt accumulated in the showers. There also seemed to be a lack of some supplies. We had to ask for more toilet paper after running out several times and shampoo and tissues were not available in every room. However, these items were provided immediately upon mentioning the problem. The outdoor pool is large and lovely. The seating areas accommodated our large group so we could dine and socialize together, but with enough private spaces that we could be solitary if desired. We booked two days of meals at the villa and both the lunches and dinners provided by Maureen and her staff were extremely tasty and allergies were accommodated. Esma was very helpful at check in and with information and bookings during our stay. The other amenities such as the basketball court, gym and pool table all need some TLC (gym mats were falling apart). This VRBO provided a different experience than other VRBOs we have booked due to the availability of the villa staff. There was some initial confusion when communicating with Beth, the owner, regarding use of the kitchen and washer/dryer. However, in the end, we were allowed access to the kitchen where we made our own breakfasts. The villa staff did our laundry, washed dishes, brewed our morning coffee and made up our beds daily, which was a real treat but quite unlike VRBOs we had previously stayed in. The villa is located a couple of blocks from the upscale Sandy Lane Hotel and Old Nine golf course with great walking trails. It is about a 10 minute walk to the beach where guests of Bon Vivant have access to the Sandy Lane Property Owner’s beach club with good amenities. The Villa is reminiscent of an old plantation house which is still beautiful but somewhat faded and past its glory days. Some of our group would return to Bon Vivant and some would not, depending on their vacation preferences. Bon Vivant would be a great place for a large family gathering but not so much for travellers with expectations of a high end resort.

The property is beautiful, however, the most wonderful part of our stay was the staff! Absolutely outstanding!

Bon Vivant is a lovely property within Sandy Lane Estates. Our family of 15 were treated to a great staff and wonderful food. Esma and her team did a great job fulfilling our needs. if you are looking for a secluded home to enjoy on holiday in Barbados, I would suggest this home.

Bon Vivant provided the perfect experience for our group of friends to enjoy the beauty of Barbados and each other’s company. The villa was stunning and the staff were incredible. They provided delicious meals and drinks, and made sure everyone had what they needed at all times. The villa is a short walk to Sandy Lane Beach where the villa gives you access to a beach club with amazing drinks and food as well as lounge chairs right on the beach. We all had an incredible time and can’t wait to go back.

Bon Vivant is a top shelf vacation property! Our experience on our group trip to Barbados was 2nd to none! The villa offers your own private oasis in one of the best locations on the island! The grounds are huge and pristine and the layout, which is centered around the pool and group space, was ideal for our group of friends.
Beth and team were responsive and informative throughout the booking and planning process, and Esma and her team on site were absolutely AMAZING! Their hospitality, service and the great food the chefs treated us to really helped make our trip memorable. Esma is also very well connected on the island and was able to help plan all of our extracurricular activities including golf, a catamaran cruise and rum distillery tour!
I'd highly recommend Bon Vivant for your stay in Barbados - where the only thing better than the villa itself is the great crew who service it behind the scenes.
THANK YOU!! :)

Our entire experience with Bon Vivant, from booking to check out, was fantastic. Beth was there to answer all our questions and Esma and her team made sure everything was just right when we arrived.
The villa is beautiful. There's plenty of space if you want to have some quiet time and there are several large gathering areas where your entire group can be together without feeling like you're on top of each other.
It's in a great location - walking distance to Sandy Lane hotel and shops, and right near several golf courses.
I would absolutely plan another trip to visit Bon Vivant in the future.

We just returned from a wonderful stay at Bon Vivant. The house is perfect for a large group...we were 8 couples. It really felt like our own private boutique hotel! Everyone was happy with their rooms and we loved the pool and gathering spaces. We lucked out one day and saw monkeys on the property, which was really a treat!
The staff was phenomenal! Esma and everyone at Bon Vivant took very good care of us, without ever feeling obtrusive. Such a treat to return from a day at the beach to your clean laundry folded nicely in your room. Every meal they prepared for us was wonderful! They even indulged us by making their amazing fried chicken again for us. The walk to the Sandy Lane property owners beach club was easy and we swam in the warm water every day. 3 of our dinners were at restaurants ( Champers, Daphne’s and the Cliff) and they all were terrific. Esma also helped us arrange a fantastic sailing trip to swim with sea turtles and included a delicious lunch.
Our only critiques would be the following:
1) The gym at the house is quite hot and not very well equipped. We were an active group, so we took advantage of the basketball court ( even turning it into a pickle ball court), but many of us had expected to be able to workout and it really wasn’t ideal.
2) We had read on various websites that it would be possible to use the facilities at Sandy Lane hotel for a nominal fee. Turns out, the hotel is not very welcoming to non-guests, despite it being off-season. We even had a spa day where we spent quite a lot of $$$ for 8 massages and lunch, but were very limited in where we were allowed to go...and could not use the pool or fitness facilities.
We all agreed that our stay at Bon Vivant was amazing! I hope we can go back one day.

Sandy Lane was everything we had hoped for! We were a group of 14 celebrating a 50th birthday party and it was perfect. The staff was amazing...Esma, Haldon and all of the kitchen staff who made sure we were pampered every day. There was lots of space and all of the bedrooms were large with king or queen beds and private bathrooms. Our only issues (minor) is that the dining room was extremely hot and it felt as though we were eating in a sauna and the pool was not functioning properly. Fortunately we had our own private pool master in our group who made sure to oversee the day to day pool functioning. We loved it and would totally go back there again!!

We stayed at Bon Vivant with three generations of a large family aged 8 to 78 over the Christmas holiday. The staff are amazing and we all agreed it was the best family trip we had taken. It was incredibly relaxing not to have to worry about shopping for meals, cooking, or cleaning up. The food is first rate. The grounds are perfect as there are many communal areas combined with the right combination of private spaces. There is never a shortage of things to do and if somehow you do exhaust activities at Bon Vivant, Esma the manager of the house, is quick to offer up suggestions and to arrange excursions. We all have incredibly fond memories of our time in Barbados and would (and will) recommend Bon Vivant to anyone looking for a relaxing venue from which to enjoy the friendly people and warm sunshine of Barbados.

Bon Vivant was an amazing experience. Imagine having your own private staffed villa/hotel for your family and friends for a full week on the elegant island of Barbados. There are nine ensuite bedrooms all of which have outdoor showers, a real treat in this tropical climate. The property is comprised of four buildings arranged around the pool, which lends privacy to the accommodations. There are numerous amenities including a basketball court, trampoline, shuffleboard, ping pong, etc. The 2+ acre grounds are stunning, with a large vegetable garden, flowering plants and numerous fruit trees; we saw monkeys scampering across the property and up the trees many times. It is but a short -- and very pleasant walk -- to the nearby private beach adjacent to the Sandy Lane Hotel, one of the poshest resorts in the Caribbean, situated on the 'platinum coast' of Barbados. Here the water is usually calm and a gorgeous aqua color, and beach staff prepare your chaises and umbrellas. But the coup de grace is the wonderful staff at Bon Vivant, several of whom have been on site for 15-30 years. From 6AM to 10PM, a staff of six cater to your every whim, preparing healthy and delicious meals -- true 'farm to table -- and mixed tropical drinks of whatever you desire. This is the epitome of gracious vacationing, being cared for by local professionals; mingling with the staff members made us feel more a part of Barbados than we would have otherwise had we been at a large hotel, no matter how nice. I was as sad to leave the staff as I was the opulence of this amazing property. Beth, the owner, was a wealth of information about local eateries and attractions, and I enjoyed chatting with her before and after (to say Thank you over and over again) our stay at Bon Vivant. We will return in a heartbeat if we are ever extended the opportunity.

Our family and friends just finished a week-long stay at Bon Vivant Villa, where we all gathered for my daughter's wedding. We could not have chosen a better place to gather for the celebration. The villa itself is stunning - quiet, secluded and serene - each room exceptionally appointed! We all especially enjoyed the outdoor showers, the intimate niches scattered throughout the property, the gardens and of course the pool. What stands out most of all though, is the accommodating staff. Esma and Maureen attended to our every need and desire all week long. The food was exceptional - the service staff among the friendliest I've ever met. I learned a lot from each of them about how to offer an exceptional guest experience to say the least!
We are definitely looking forward to our next visit to Bon Vivant Villa and highly recommend you consider this villa for your Barbados holiday. You won't be disappointed.

Nine couples stayed at Bon Vivant for one glorious week! The pictures do not do the villa justice. There is every imaginable amenity....jacuzzi, huge pool, basketball, tennis, indoor racquetball, walking distance to a semi-private, white sand beach, with warm, swimmable water, and top notch staff to cater to your every wish. We sat by the pool every night, drinking cocktails and munching on snacks brought out by our own bartender and one evening, the staff brought appetizers and drinks down to the beach for us to enjoy. They provided exceptional service without being intrusive. At dusk, curious monkeys came out to eat the fruit that had dropped from the trees, which was so fun to watch! Barbados was definitely one of the best destinations we have been to, with great weather, friendly people, plenty of shopping and nightlife, but also plenty of quiet places to relax. We have rented 5 other villas all over the world, and Bon Vivant is the best, hands down. If you have the chance, rent this villa! You will not be disappointed!
