David is a terrific host. He was extraordinarily response throughout the check-in and check-out process and when answering any questions we had during our rental.

Loved our home in NoPa
David was kind and communicative; so was the property manager. Really enjoyed being able to call this lovely place our home, particularly since we spent so much time here working from home during the pandemic. Thanks for the hospitality!

San Francisco At Its Best
We had a wonderful month living in San Francisco despite the shelter in place order issued by the city halfway through our stay. The apartment was spotless and spacious and located in a perfect location to walk virtually anywhere in the city. David, the owner, was tremendously accommodating through the entire process. We highly recommend this apartment and will return, hopefully next winter.

Great vacation rental
My wife and I were there February 2019. I exchanged an email with David the day before we departed telling him how much we enjoyed his house and my wife comment regarding my email was I didn't rave enough. We read the reviews before we rented and we felt they were too good to be true. They weren't, they were true. The pictures of the house reflect the actual house, very attractive and very comfortable. Also it is very well located in terms of close to the town center and availability of public transportation. We walked to the town center or back from the town center a number of times. We were advised to purchase a "Clipper Card" which allows you to use the bus, train, cable car and trolley on a monthly single payment ($39.00 for seniors) basis. A telephone map app is very useful for figuring out how to get places using the transit systems. The comfort and location of the house, the convenience of the transit system the garage to leave your car and San Francisco combined t make our stay one of our best travel experiences.

Wonderful place
It was great! It felt very homey and had everything we needed. The location was great, we enjoyed walking to different restaurants each day. We were very close to the Golden Gate park and often walked or rode bike there. The bus line was only a block away. We did bring a car and it was a tight fit in the garage but we were glad to have a place to park (finding parking in San Francisco is tough). I loved our stay

We had a great stay and would definitely return.
Comfortable and well-equipped accommodation in a very convenient location, close to many restaurants, a beautiful park, and a supermarket. Having the garage was an extra plus.

Enjoy San Fransisco as a local!
On vacation from England, this is our second stay in this great home in a fantastic neighbourhood. We are already thinking about visit number three, what more is there to say! We’re in the city to catch up on the latest “hot” restaurants, so being able to get everywhere by walking and the occasional evening bus is just what we need to keep up an appetite! Thank you David for a perfect stay. Tartine Foundary is a great addition on the food front.

Truly wonderful!!
Nothing but impressed with this beautiful home! I was in the process of moving to San Francisco and looking for a temporary place to stay. I was so happy with my choice. The location is outstanding! Within steps to some of the best/most popular restaurants in town, golden gate park and more. David keeps the home in pristine condition and was very helpful and responsive with any question or problem I had. Would highly recommend!

Even better the second time around
We rented this apartment last summer, and were so impressed with its quality and spaciousness that we rented it again this summer. When we walked in this time, we just breathed a sigh of happiness, it was as good as we remembered. So much room! And such quality! Well worth the rental price. There are beautiful living and dining rooms, replete with paintings and prints that are wonderful. The bedroom is nicely removed from light and street sounds, great sleeps as a result. We cook as well as dine out when we're in the city, and the kitchen is large, and, again, beautifully appointed. There's a laundry room! How nice not be shoveling coins into pay machines down in the basement. We like to take buses and the three major routes out of the area get you quickly to all four compass points. A very modern Lucky's supermarket is literally a block away, and it's all flat walking (heavy groceries and SF hills don't agree with each other). Because of all these fine features and advantages, we enjoyed this trip to San Francisco even more than last summer. And, are we going to rent again? You bet! We've already booked next winter!

A perfect home away from home!
David was the perfect host and his home in SF was impecible. Especially appreciated the indoor garage, furnished backyard and gourmet kitchen. David left copious information on what to see, where to eat and how get there - both on his website and at the house. Conveniently located to restaurants (our favorite being Central Park Bistro), mass transit, and most every activity SF has to offer. Can't wait to get back!

Trust the reviews! This place deserves all of them.
We sojourned in San Francisco for two months as part of our post retirement, round the world trip. The desire is actually live in various cities around the globe for an extended period and get to learn to live local as much as possible. We stayed at David's home the entire time. It became our home for that duration and we loved being there.
We were a little skeptical to see such glowing reviews of the property, seemed to be too good to be true, but they are 100% representative of his home. He takes special pride in catering to the needs of the tenants, is extremely attentive and a pleasure to deal with. We booked the place almost 18 months ahead of our arrival and there was great communication all along. David put our minds at rest and we were confident in finding what we were looking for ahead of time. He even told us of the best way to register our license plate for the various bridges in the area and this was both convenient and money saving. Little things like that are a real difference.
The location was perfect for us. We walk everywhere and we could walk to the ocean, we could walk to Golden Gate Bridge, we could walk to Downtown. We were close to Haight Ashbury, the Castro, the Presidio, and spent a lot of time in nearby Golden Gate Park. When we wanted to take a bus, we rode the Muni all the time, there is great access with several close routes.
The home is spacious and very well appointed. We largely cooked for ourselves and the kitchen has state of the art appliances and is fully stocked with everything you could ever need. In addition, don't discount the fact that one of the larger grocery stores in SFO is located on the next block, Lucky's, and it has both a large selection and good prices. We were there all the time.
One of the selection criteria for selecting a location in SFO was the available garage as we had driven across the US and Canada and wanted to have a car for day trips in and around the Bay Area. The parking is very tight for a mid sized car, Ford Fusion, but ahead of signing the lease David validated the dimensions of both my car and the available garage space in order to ensure that we would be able to use it effectively. We did, tight squeeze, but we did it. There was great cooperation with the upstairs neighbors in this regard as well, nice people.
David provides a cleaning service every two weeks, which is a luxury, and well appreciated.
You should have no reservation in using this property!

Great vacation stay!!
We stayed at David's San Francisco home for eight nights in August. We've never stayed at such a comfortable rental! The location is very central, with a great supermarket - Lucky's - only 1 1/2 blocks away. With such a great kitchen , we stayed in for quite a few meals. It was so nice to have a quiet haven to return to after the "big" city activity. David was great to deal with; always returning e-mails very promptly. If we ever return to San Fran, we wouldn't hesitate to book this great rental.

Our best apartment rental.
We are just finishing our first stay at David’s house, and I can’t say enough about how pleasurable this month has been. We’ve rented apartments in a variety of locations, and his place tops them all. The furnishings are of amazing quality – no leftover odds and ends here. I use a Cuisinart coffee maker in the morning! The art in the house is astounding, so many quality canvases, prints, photos. We spend a fair amount of our inside time just appreciating them. For a one-bedroom house, the space is amazing, a full kitchen, family room, formal living and dining rooms, thick soft carpets everywhere, it’s truly remarkable. The garden in back is great. It’s well-tended, and sitting out there with a beer at the end of a day of touring is perfect.
There is a new, huge Lucky’s supermarket literally a block away – and it’s a flat walk, no hills! Three of our favorite places to eat and drink are just across the street from the market, and the lovely Panhandle is a mere three blocks away. We have great memories now of sunny walks among the giant eucalyptus. We’re not in the heart of “old” San Francisco, and we personally find that to be a plus. It’s wonderful to be able to enjoy that area sometimes, and then to come home to a quiet, lovely residential area. We are bus people, and the buses in this area are incredibly convenient. The Ferry Building is 15-20 minutes away by bus, another whisks you right to the center of the beautiful Presidio, four or five others move you to Fisherman’s Wharf, Nob Hill, the Castro and Noe Valley, on and on.
David is impressively attentive to any issue you may have and responds almost always the same day to emails. He has a handyman on call, there are cleaners that show up every two weeks, very clear instruction notebooks strategically placed around the house. Communicating with him has been an ongoing pleasure.
Too good to be true? How sincere is this evaluation? We’ve already booked the house for next year!

Super Great SanFran
I was in San Fran for conference and Golf. Regarding the Conference, the location was close to the Wharf area for me to get to quickly. I was impressed with the the fully fitted kitchen with utensils- everything one would use to cook for a family. I used the toaster, but did not cook. The home was Clean, and ready for use. There's a store for food and drinks 1 block away. I left coffee filters in the unit when I left, so it would be there for You. Regarding Golfing, I played Presidio and TPC Harding, so I washed my dirty clothes. I can't do that at a hotel. Best of all, was use of the garage for parking the rental Infinity SUV- There was Nowhere to park in the neighborhood. Please do not Block the Driveway, since its a 2 unit home, the guys upstairs need to come and go!!! The entire home was great, but Parking in San Fran is a premium and this is a Very important feature. Don't rent anywhere in SF if they don't have reserved parking- you'll get ticket and towed!!! I would stay here again,

Definitely first class guest service in mind! Enjoy this gem!
I can’t wait to return to this gem of a home. I was enjoying my week’s stay so much I actually didn’t want to leave! I think you’ll feel the same! It is a delightful mix of vintage San Francisco, wonderful artwork and modern updates in the kitchen and bath. The pictures do not exaggerate the charm and artfully appointed living spaces. You can tell the owners have put much soul and time in to truly make this a welcoming and very comfortable home for a lovely getaway or an extended stay. Definitely first class guest service in mind! What a great responsive host! Just about all the essential “little things” were there. Did I say this home is clean, comfortable, charming, clean, convenient; you can walk to Golden Gate Park and it’s a straight short-ish shot to the beach, and a close walk to a full super market (like less than 2 blocks away), coffee shops, bus stops, and some good places to eat? Or you can always relax with a book or glass of wine in the lovely outside patio/garden area. If you are a media junkie or staying for business I don’t think you’ll be disappointed either. David has prepared great operating manuals for the business station, media center, and kitchen and laundry appliances, along with great suggestions for your stay. Enjoy!!

Comfortable and well-appointed home in the heart of San Francisco
This year was the first time I rented a whole flat for six weeks and I couldn't be more pleased about the experience. The home has a full complement of conveniences such as a fully equipped kitchen, washer dryer, computer, cable television and even garage parking. It is very attractive, clean and comfortable and can accommodate quite a few people although there were just two of us. The owner is extremely conscientious and responsive so, even though there is no face-to-face contact, any questions and concerns are promptly and efficiently addressed. My kids and grandkids did come over a bit and it was so fun to have such a nice place in which to gather. The location is ideal for touring San Francisco--we bought clipper cards for transit use and bussed and walked most of the peninsula. Bus use is so convenient from this location and leads to downtown, Japantown and Chinatown, east to the beaches, north to Fort Mason--virtually every direction. We also borrowed my daughter's car a few times for trips to East Bay and parked in the garage (although even the small Honda Fit must be maneuvered with great care to save the mirrors--but it's totally doable). This home is just blocks from Golden Gate Park and from east to west in the park, there is so much to appreciate. From interesting people in all manner of costume, to science and art museums, to the gorgeous botanical garden and AIDS Memorial to the many varieties of wildlife and water foul and the stunning cliffs and beaches--Golden Gate Park is an amazing resource. We so enjoyed it. From this home one can also access the Haight, Twin Peaks, the Castro, the Mission and points south.
There is a grocery store one block away and many smaller specialty stores as well. There are coffee shops, restaurants of all kinds and many other resources within easy walking distance.
If you're looking for an authentic and very comfortable San Francisco experience, this is your place. You will not be disappointed.

Spacious and Comfortable Home
My wife and I spent a month in David's home in San Francisco and had a great time. As previous reviews have mentioned, the house is conveniently located in NoPa, nicely furnished, well-equipped, and very comfortable. David has done an excellent job of providing instructions for the appliances, TV, DVD player, etc. We also really appreciated having a full sized washer and dryer in a separate room which was so convenient. There is also a nice collection of books and DVDs, along with a laptop, printer and fax. David has thought of just about everything one would need. The home is within a couple minutes walk to a few muni bus lines (#43 Masonic, #5 Fulton, #21 Hayes) which will take you all over the city. The nearby Fulton Market is just a block and a half away, and Target and a Trader Joes's are only a 12 to 15 minute walk or a short bus ride away. We will definitely seek a return visit to this home in the future.

Absolutely wonderful home-away-from-home in great location
We had a fabulous 5-month stay in David's beautifully appointed San Francisco home! It is beautifully decorated, filled with every amenity we could think of, and truly felt like we were living in our own home. The backyard is an oasis of calm with lush landscaping, comfortable seating and hummingbirds. The kitchen is modern with great appliances and kitchenware. The bedroom is cozy, ultra comfortable and importantly, very quiet. There are 3 perfect places to eat: the large dining room, the kitchen table and the counter. With a family room AND a living room, there are so many places to relax and enjoy. The bonus: a laundry room AND a garage! David is an impeccable host...he is super responsive and just a pleasure to deal with, and always helpful with suggestions. Staying here was an overall perfect experience for us as we transitioned to relocating permanently to San Francisco!!! We couldn't recommend it more highly!

Fantastic home for our family
My family of 3 stayed in this wonderful home for 4 nights in a wonderful part of San Francisco. Plenty of room and privacy for couple and teenage son. Everything you could possibly need for your stay was provided in the home including use of all electronic equipment such as internet, laptop, tv, dvd player, etc. Wonderful, large kitchen, facilities like washer/dryer which were invaluable, beautiful garden out back where you could sit quietly with a cuppa; local supermarket was 2 mins away and bus stops to take you downtown or to see Golden Gate Bridge all within easy walking distance. The home has a fabulous manual for FAQ. Booked trip to Alcatraz and again no problem getting to the pier from the home via public transport. 30 min taxi ride to the airport. Communciation with David the homeowner was easy and straightforward with excellent instructions and tips for our arrival. Would recommend this place in a hearbeat! You won't find better!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas in San Francisco and spending some of that time at your warm and lovely warm just topped it off! Thank you so much for your hospitality and attention to detail. Everything was perfect and I hope we left your home in good order. I treated it as I would my own....and I am finnicky!
I hope you will have us back again on a future visit. Thanks for everything!

We stayed at this home for a weekend visit to celebrate our daughter’s graduation from University of San Francisco and could not have been more pleased with the experience. It’s only 3 blocks from USF in a very urban, walkable neighborhood. Having secure parking in the attached garage is a luxury that’s hard to find with rental properties in San Francisco. Above all, the home is comfortable and tastefully decorated throughout. Most impressive was the attention to every little detail a visitor might need to fully enjoy their stay, from the informational guides for local attractions, to the completely outfitted kitchen with all the necessary utensils, appliances, and cookware. We hosted a very nice dinner and enjoyed the evening in the comfortable dining room and living room. We look forward to a return visit, and would easily recommend this rental home to anyone considering a home to rent in San Francisco.

My husband and I stayed in David's beautiful home for a week in March 2012. The website photos accurately reflect a very warm and inviting home. When we walked in the front door we both said wow! From the entrance hall, a lovely lounge room leads through to a spacious dining room, both very tastefully decorated blending traditional and modern in perfect harmony. The eclectic and interesting art works throughout the house add to the ambience. All the household amenities you could ever need are provided including washing machine, dryer, microwave, dishwasher, wifi, computer, printer, good quality towels and bedlinen, a well-stocked kitchen, clean fresh bathroom, to name but a few. We also enjoyed spending time in the second living area next to the open plan kitchen. The house has plenty of room, much more than we've ever had in a holiday apartment before. The whole house was extremely clean. The main bedroom is very cosy and has a really comfortable bed - always important when travelling. It was quiet and peaceful at night. There are about 8 or 9 steps up to the front door from street level so it's fairly easy to carry up the luggage. David was very obliging and easy to communicate with both before and during our holiday. There are great restaurants, cafes, a local supermarket and buses, all close by. We found a very good French restaurant, Bistro Central Parc, only a couple of blocks from the house; we went there 3 times - delicious. We would definitely recommend this San Francisco home to family, friends and anyone who appreciates a real home away from home when travelling. It's a very pretty neighborhood with all the Victorian houses. Many thanks, Robyn and Garry

We found the apartment gracious, beautifully furnished and presented in pristine condition. We particularly appreciated the notes of where to eat. The location of the apartment was in a very good area and an added bonus was the availability of transport and the nearby supermarket. We will definitely return to this apartment when next in San Francisco. We will certainly recommend you to our friends in New Zealand and Australia.

We had such a wonderful time during our week in San Francisco, and your home was really just perfect. It had everything we needed, was comfy, beautiful, well furnished and conveniently located. I wish the weather had been nice so we could have enjoyed your enchanting garden more than we did..Such a treasure.
We used the fold out sofa beds for a single woman on each, and a couple in the queen bedroom. The arrangement worked well.
I would love to rent it again.
Again, thank you for making your beautiful pad available to us!

We enjoyed staying in your beautifully decorated, clean and tranquil apartment. Your place felt like our home in San Francisco in a central neighborhood that is charming, safe and oh so amazing! You have managed to create a rental that is so well equipped down to a new sponge and dishtowel in the kitchen. Your thoughtfulness in providing added special touches like being able to use spices or other items made us truly feel like valued quests. We loved the surrounding area especially our ability to walk places and use the buses. The house instructions were very clear and helpful. The customer service you provided was very professional and set us at ease so that we could enjoy our vacation. We would highly recommend this property to anyone of our friends and family. We loved San Francisco and hope to visit and stay at your beautiful home again!

My wife and I spent five lovely days in David's home near Golden Gate Park. Very, very clean and exceptionally well equipped. Lots of light. Very nice decor. The garden was a wonderful surprise. In this home, you can truly get a feeling of living in a San Francisco neighborhood, which is what we were looking for. We found fun local shops and evening ice cream, plus the grocery just down the street. Convenient location to the trails along the bay near Golden Gate Bridge as well as to Muir Woods and the Sonoma/Alexander Valley wine country. Excellent restaurants within walking distance. The importance of the garage cannot be overstated in San Francisco. Truly serves as an excellent home in San Francisco. We were pleased in every way. I'm recommending to friends and hope to return.

To start, this apartment was sparkling clean, comfortable, quiet and convenient. Rooms were spacious, well appointed with art on the walls, high ceilings, and comfortable furniture. Kitchen had every appliance needed from 4-slice toaster to food processor and lots of cookware and cutlery. Owner thoughtfully provides excellent Wi-Fi with laptop, great 42" HD TV, and strategically placed nightlights throughout. Great shower. Rugs were thick, floor sturdy, shades for quiet mornings and light filled afternoons. The 21 bus (to the Ferry Building) is a 2 block walk and a great supermarket (Lucky's) is less than a block. The neighborhood is quiet with plenty of restaurants and cafes on Divisadero, a few blocks walk. The very clean garage accommodates a compact car. The owner takes excellent care of this rental, providing a relaxing, clean, quiet and convenient apartment for its guests. A huge thanks - Debby and I will be back ... Doug

We had a fabulous time and this home was perfect for our week to meet, greet and fall in love with our 1st grandchild. We highly recommend that our friends stay in this home when they come to visit and we will definitely try to stay there again. This apartment had everything we could have wanted or needed so it made our stay so easy and pleasurable. Plus we had a great week of sunny, mild weather!!! Thanks again for the hospitality and we look forward to contacting David next time we have a chance to visit SF.

This apartment was perfect for us. We chose it partly for the location, as we love to walk everywhere, and we certainly did that! Haight Ashbury and Golden Gate Park are very close, but we also walked to Japantown, Castro and Mission, and discovered lovely parks along the way, all with glorious views. For anything further we used buses, which we caught just round the corner, and which were really easy to use. Staying in the apartment helped to make us feel part of this lovely neighbourhood, and everything we needed was nearby. The apartment itself was wonderful - just as in the pictures, but with some very personal touches. Loved the artwork everywhere, and the interesting books. The garden room felt really cosy at the end of a long day, and it was lovely to be able to have lunch in the garden a couple of times.Above all, the owner, David, had thought of everything possible to make us feel comfortable and enable us to enjoy our stay. He was on hand (via e-mail!) to answer the slightest question before and during our stay, which was so much appreciated. We certainly hope to go back one day!

We're dreaming, when we first stepped into the apartment to set everything up for the arrival of my parents the follwing day, we couldn't believe it. We were dancing and screaming.
It wasn't a dream, or should I say it was a lived dream for two weeks.
I'm an au pair, I work here for one year and my parents visited me and stayed in this real gem. Located in a "San Francisco-house" and you feel like you live there since ever. It is quiet, but central, there's a shop (Lucky's) where you get everything nearby, the bus station is also just around the corner and the bus-line brings you downtown without changing.
We liked the best, that there's everything you need or more, you open a drawer because you look for scissors, and they lay there. You can use the computer and the phone for free, the contact to the manager and the landlord is so easy and you feel so comfortable just to write emails with them. The garage's perfect for a little car, you don't need more in SF anyway. My dad loved the garden, we enjoyed the last warm days in November.
Sometimes it was hard to get out of the apartment because we slept long, laid around and most of the evenings we cooked at home or my Mom cooked for me my favourite meals, there's not only a microwave, like my dad suspected, there's everything you need a stove, aoven, a huge fridge, a coffemaker and a microwave. :)
The only bad thing was to say goodbye, to the apartment and to my parents.
We felt at home, thank you so much.

our stay in this flat was enjoyable in all respects. the owner and management were very reliable and helpful about settling all the formal requirements for renting this place. responses to special requests were always met promptly. the flat itself proves to be very comfortable, well furnished and equipped and clean. the location was perfect for us in a quiet neighborhood close to golden gate park and just 20 min to union square by bus. some restaurants and a nice supermarket just up the street. we would most certainly want to go back to this place next time we travel to SF! thanks to the owner for enabling us to enjoy a nice couple of days in SF.

What a wonderful surprise to turn the key into this lovely apartment. Everything exceeded our expectations: the size of the apartment, its decoration, its location. We'll recommend it to our friends and we'll come back for sure.

We were very very pleased by the flat; it is as good as described. The vacation is excellent with both a grocery store and a bus stop nearby. We were able to park our car and use public transportation to get around SF. We loved staying in a real neighborhood in San Francisco. The flat has all the comforts of home and is very well decorated and maintained. I highly recommend this flat.

My husband, sister and I were so pleased to find such a comfortable, welcoming place to stay. The house is charming and the neighborhood is calm. All instructions and suggestions were helpful and clear. We enjoyed the garden one sunny afternoon and had friends stop in for dinner. If you're a walker, the De Young, Academy of Sciences etc, are within reach. We took the 21 bus home (from just outside the park north of the museums), which stops at Central on Hayes.
We've stayed in SF hotels many times in the past, but this is so much more relaxing. We will be back.

Thank you David and Richard for making our family vacation such a wonderful experience. The house was lovely and had everything we needed and so much more!
Our five year old son loved playing in the beautiful garden and also enjoyed the Alamo Square playground that was in walking distance.
Getting around the city was a breeze from this location (lots of bus options). It was a very quiet neighbourhood for sleeping too.
Highly recommended!

For a comfortable stay in the city, ease of using public transportation, a place to park your car, some nearby coffee and breakfast places to get you going, the convience of a nearby market, and a delightful garden to enjoy, this is the place to stay. The description of the house is accurate, the location is central, and the owers are very helpful. I have recommended this home to many friends and I look forward to staying there again and again and again.

We regularly rent self-catered accommodation and David’s apartment must rate as one of the best we’ve used. From the outset, we received professional, friendly, timely communications and our first impressions of the apartment continued to exceed expectations. A spacious, clean, stylish pad, which we quickly settled into as if it were our own during a two week stay over Christmas/New Year.
Safe neighbourhood, great amenities nearby – including a fab supermarket and a good selection of cafes and restaurants (DO NOT miss the wonderful Poleng Lounge– delicious pan-Asian food and one of our best meals while in California – and it’s less than 100m from the front door). The bus stop round the corner takes you straight down to the ocean (great for a morning run along the beach and you can then walk home) or downtown (for shopping and sightseeing). We walked everywhere but also had Muni passports so that we could hop on and off buses, cable cars and streetcars at a moment’s notice.
Absolutely no complaints or suggestions for improvements – the apartment had everything we needed (and more) – and the PC and CD/DVD library was great. Loved the Little Miss Sunshine DVD!
I just hope we can come back to SF again soon ...
Thank you very much, David.
