We had a great time at Nadine's cottage for the last week of August. The view from the property is fantastic and we loved watching the light on the water as the sun was setting at the end of the day. The cottage, with 3 bedrooms and 4 beds, met our needs perfectly. The cottage was clean and all the appliances (stove, fridge, microwave) were newish.
We rented paddleboards and a kayak from kawarthaadventures.ca so we could do accompanied long distance swims out past the islands. Even though close to the Lovesick Lake locks, the lake didn't seem to get a lot of boat traffic and was nice and quiet.
The screened in porch was a lovely spot for meals.
Nadine was a great host and made our experience easy. Would definitely rent again.

Nadine the host was very welcoming and helpful, the cottage was very clean.
The lake was good for swimming (there were quite a few weeds but the entranceway was cleared out for easy access)
Fishing was by far one of the best we’ve experienced.
Overall a nice week away, very scenic area.

We stayed at Nadine's cottage for 2 weeks in August and it was wonderful. Nadine and her family were so helpful and kind. We brought our kayaks and bikes, and there was ample room to store our trailer in the car park. If you enjoy kayaking you can't go wrong with this location - so many beautiful spots to explore! There are also a ton of places to visit in and around Buckhorn Lake - the Rotary Greenway bike trail from Lakefield to Trent was a big hit with our family. Our teenage son and his friend enjoyed fishing off the dock and even caught a couple bass. The paddle boat worked just fine to bring our groceries to the cottage from the car park (there is also a canoe). A couple other bonuses are the big dock (I could have sat on the dock forever watching sunsets) and comfortable beds (which is unusual for a rental cottage!). Highly recommend. We would definitely return!

Loved the location on a very quiet lake. Although weedy for swimming it was nice to paddle to the next lake via a very cool wooden portage/exchange for a swim. Lovely property and excellent place to watch the Osprey everyday.
Nadine made us feel at home and was very accommodating ! Thank you!

This cottage was the perfect combination of adventure and the relaxing vacation our family was looking for. We were very happy with how private the location was (we did not have to THINK about this pandemic for 7 whole days!!) And the view!! You just can't beat it.

A slice of heaven in the Kawarthas. Peaceful location with breathtaking views that are enjoyed from the large dock.
