This property is listed as a “5BR Luxury Apartment in the heart of Florence”. Substitute the word “luxury” with “quaint” in the description and it would more accurately represent the property. The location was excellent and is conveniently located to many attractions, restaurants, shopping and the train station. The apartments need some repairs as each of the showers had issues with shower doors unable to fully close, shower floors not able to drain along with visible mold and mildew in the middle apartment bathroom. Although each apartment has a washer, there is no dryer. The first apartment had a bedroom door that would not close fully due to a missing latch. Although this was repaired in a timely manner, communication was difficult, with repeated attempts to call the owner, many dropped calls and no returned calls. I was unable to inform the owner/manager of issues with the cooktop not working in the second apartment and problems with the upstairs air conditioner resulting in our sleeping on the downstairs sofabed. This is a historic property and has a few quirks, despite this we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Florence. The location was great. It is very dark though and there weren’t any clear mirrors. The shower in the standing tub bathroom cannot be used because it slides towards the wall and floods the bathroom and bedroom.

We loved everything about this home away from home. We already discussed going back!

Our family of 12 adults and one infant spent four days in the apartments. They were wonderful and met our needs very well. The apartments had everything we need, and were well equipped. The location is an easy walk from the train station and all locations in Central Florence and Oltrarno.
My only negative comment is that the listing should clarify the configuration of the bedrooms in the two bedroom loft apartment. There are two bedrooms, but because the wall between them does not go all the way to the ceiling and they are both open to the living room below they do not necessarily provide complete privacy. This is not clear from the description or the photographs in the listing. I should add, though that the host clarified this with me by messaging in Vrbo and was helpful throughout our stay.

Great location! We were 6 adults and 5 little cousins. Perfect stay!

Our stay in Florence was incredible due in large part to the excellent location of the property. A little trouble with communication with the owner for questions, but the ease of coming and going with a code and the ability to walk to shopping, restaurants, etc was invaluable. Would absolutely love to stay again!

Our group of 8 adults comfortably stayed at this well located group of apartments. The 3 apartments shared a common corridor making it easy to enjoy our down time together. The apartment is well located. Walking distance to all things Florence.

Of the three different accommodations in three cities in Italy, we enjoyed being all together in one quite historical building 500 year old former castle (we learned from neighbors). We finished off each day all together for our final limoncello before saying "Good-night".

There were 8 of us traveling (5 teenagers, 2 parents and a mother/mother-in law). We used all 3 apartments which felt like one large space vs. separate spaces. The second floor location made coming and going easy and the digital keys worked perfectly so everyone had their own way to access.. The A/C, laundry, etc. all worked out great for our group/ The best part is the location...walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go, shops, restaurants, etc.

We had a great stay in this VRBO. We had 14 people and with 3 apt. it was plenty of room. Would be nice if someone would meet you there to show you the location, even with pics it is a little confusing but once settle in it was great. I did not realize you need cash for a city tax when you check out. They were great though and billed us through VRBO. Great location, nice apartments and a fun stay. I would recommend, and far a large group it was great.

Really a wonderful and spacious spot that made us feel like locals with the comforts of home and the charm of a Firenze. Special!

This is probably just an american but I booked the originally for 14 people, 11 adults, three kids.
It ended up 9 people came but the place was too small and did not have enough onsuite baths so 4 folks checked in somewhere else..
I don't know if the number of apratments they gave us changed when we dropped ro 9 people but I know I was never offered a lower and there is no way 14:people could have slept in the apartments we were in.

It is an interesting several century old set of apartments with a great location. We loved the quirks of such an incredible place with so much history. Once inside the units, it is quite beautiful.
The beds are comfortable, it is clean, and the a/c works well even though it was quite hot outside. Enough towels & toiletries were provided. The kitchens had enough if needed. There was almost zero outside noise if the windows were closed. Nightly loud stomping occurred from above the one bedroom in the third apartment (#4) with the starry night ceiling. Probably happens in many old buildings.
The exact layout of the bedrooms was not clear to us upon renting, but the number of bedrooms is accurate.
There are 3 apartments.
The first has 2 bathrooms, 1 on each floor. Upstairs, there are 2 bedrooms that are comfortable. However, It may matter to some that the gorgeous loft is open to below for both bedrooms, and the walls to the ceiling of the rooms do not go all the way up. So, if you need privacy, the sound carries from and to each bedroom. The apartment itself is absolutely beautiful.
The 2nd is also gorgeous. There is a bedroom upstairs with the bathroom on the lower level.
The 3rd has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. 1st is nice with an attached bathroom including a tub. (Stomper lives above). The 2nd consists of 2 twins beds. The 2nd bathroom was not attached. This 3rd apartment had a large kitchen and living room area that we very much enjoyed. We had a glass of wine while hearing the announcement of the engagement of one of our sons.
The hosts were responsive.
The wifi was spotty, adequate but not if you needed to work.
We thought that there was a dryer inside one of the apartments, however, it is not in the units? When we called to ask about the dryer, the hosts said it was in the building, had someone come, collect, dry, fold, and return our laundry. We were so thankful. I'm not sure if the dryer was broken, but the service was much appreciated.
However, the hosts could make this an even more enjoyable stay. At our other stays, our hosts met us if there would be any confusion on how to access our place and show us around. This happened in Venice, Amalfi, Rome, Riomaggiore. This host sent us a set of instructions, pictures and virtual keys. It was a bit onerous especially after we had a full day. It would be so appreciated if they would meet future guests instead at the building and show them for the first time.
Much apprecited and thank you!

Spent Christmas in Florence. Location was ideal for my wife and five children ages 15-22. Safe with many good restaurants nearby

Beautiful apartments, well equipped and in a fantastic location. Our family of 8 used all 3. Beds were comfortable and apartments were very clean. Only issue we had was that we ran out of hot water very quickly. I was so excited that there was a nice bathtub in my apartment, however did not use it as I would have liked to. Only had a lukewarm bath one night. Gaia was responsive and easy to contact. - would go back for sure! Loved the location as well!

I highly recommend the Relais Berardi for anyone wishing to stay in the heart of Florence in a location with charming features. The location is near the river, in an area with many high-end shops. The are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The major tourist attractions are all within walking distance. The apartments are all well appointed with everything you need. They are well kept and clean. The rooms are large, and there is plenty of closet space. Each unit also includes a clothes washer. The staff is very helpful, and close-by if any need arises. Great place to stay in Florence.

We rented this beautiful property for a celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary and extended the invitation to family and friends. Each person had their own space, but there was also ample space for our group of 8 to gather and talk about our adventures. Close to the train station and the sights of this beautiful city. Lots of great shopping, restaurants & bars nearby.
Gaia is attentive to any & all requests or questions. We would come back again in a heartbeat.

I brought my family of 15, including 7 children ranging in age from 16 to 4 for a visit to Florence. We had 3 apartments that were all connected and private. The apartments were great, with plenty of room for all. The location was perfect. We could walk to everything. Gaia responded quickly to any questions I had. I highly recommend this property for your visit

What a wonderful property. There were 7 in our group and we rented all three apartments. We could have comfortably stayed in 2, but I’m glad we did not. For the same price as a hotel we were treated to old world charm combined with modern accommodations. The apartments are beautifully designed and the beds were superb, with quality linens. The location is primo also. We walked everywhere. Only used a taxi service to return to the train station. Excellent coffee and breakfast just steps away. Restaurants and shopping surrounded our apartmentts. The view from our windows a delightful buzz of city life by day yet quietly peaceful at night. This property was a perfect choice for our trip to Florence. I will most certainly call this home on my return. Thank you Gaia for all your attention to detail!

My group of 6 adults rented 2 of the apartments (4 bedrooms) for a 4-night stay. The accommodations are super convenient - within walking distance of the train station and all of the major attractions, plus shops and restaurants. The only time we used a cab was to get to the airport. The apartments were quite large and had all of the furnishings to make our stay comfortable, the bedrooms were quiet at night, and the kitchens and dining areas (while we didn't use them) were fully equipped. We had one minor facility problem during our stay and the owner was easily accessible via phone and the property manager was working in a shop nearby and came right over to help us.Overall, two thumbs up! :)
