The breakfast was excellent and the host was very accommodating. The location was great especially if you're getting in from a bus and the rooms were super dark if anyone is sensitive to light.

We had the place to ourselves which was great because they apparently had just finished some refurbs. It's good value for the price for sure. There's some really unfavourable reviews on Google of this place about the owners being unfriendly and just trying to squeeze tours out of you. I didn't experience any of that. They were helpful and friendly to us. I don't know what people expect on this budget sometimes.
BUT... and this is a bloody big but... There's a huge gym right behind the hostel that does Zumba or Dancercise or whatever the hell they're doing for about 3 hours from 7am and then again from like 5pm. If you expect any quite time in the common area on the top floor during these times forget about it. I have no ideas how the owners cope with this. Without earplugs a lie in is out the window as well.

Cheap
Grumpy staff, room had no light nor ventilation, everywhere stank, and 'breakfast' was a joke (a small slice of avocado with bread)

Very reasonable priced private room. Hostel was very clean. Good kitchen and rooftop terrace area. Hosts were very helpful in organising hikes. Very close to the stop for Collectivos to hikes. Walking distance from most bus terminals.

The location and the kitchen equipment were the only good things
The staff is only having a Hostel because that's their only way to make money with their big house. They treat you not very welcoming and cold hearted. They try to control all things and always try to sell you a tour. For gas (kitchen) and toilet paper they are very restrictive. Only once per day you can use the kitchen and 10 minutes before our checkout we didn't get any toilet paper which runs out all the time and is never refreshed by them. You always need to ask and feel pity for it. Also they have no overview over their bookings and didn't want to give us back some money that they owed us first. Also at 7 !!!! in the morning horrible loud music starts right next to the place (there is a gym power training every day). They seem that they don't like their customers. The room was very cold!

There was no water all the time we were staying.
They are locking the entrance door at22:00 and don’t bring you key so you need to call them and wake them up if you return late to the hostel.

The showers were not working and they didn’t tell me when I checked in. Did not offer a discount of any kind. When I asked to check out a day early because I needed a shower they did not want to give me my money back for extra day. Said “it’s not my problem”.

Very helpful and friendly staff/ owner. Lots of info and accommodating. Allowed us to stay in a side room pre check in to rest and wash up. Kept luggage while we went trekking a few days.
The building door is locked in the late evening, which makes it a bit inconvenient at times. Water may be shut off at night if it's quiet, needing to ask to turn it back on if needed.

The lady let us leave our luggage there after we checked out while we went to hike Laguna 69. When we came back to pick up our suitcases, she let us shower before catching the overnight bus back to Lima.

The main entrance doors are pernamently closed. If anybody wants to get in inside, need to ring a bell. The bell is so loud that it was impossible to get some sleep. One day I was going hiking at 3 am, other guest were coming location till midnight. Due to loud doorbell it was impossible to get soke sleep. Moreover at 3 am I wanted to got out of the house. But the doors were closed with padlock. In case of fire there were no way to get out of building (its just dangerous).
The only window I my room was an jnteriow window facing staircase. So it was impossible to get some fresh air in the room. Moreover you can hear all noises.
The bathroom is stinky.
The breakfast is just a bread with jam and coffee (we'll it wasn't coffee to be honest).
After 6 weeks in Peru this hostel was my worst experience.
Additionally nobody from owners speaks English.
That's just few thing I did not like it in this place.

The owners of this very nice guest house are very nice people, always trying to help whenever they can. Even though English is not spoken, they have lots of patience to listen and explain again and again, until it is clear.
They are familiar with all the trekking options around, and can help with organization
and needed equipment.
We arrived very early in the morning and got our room immediately, without extra charge - that was very nice.
The bed was very comfy and warm.
In addition, the location is great, right in the center of Huaraz, which is very convinient.
It could be nice to add a curtain in the shower, or any other separation, such that after showering there will be no water all over the place.
There is no noise or light insolation, so when somebody needs to get up in the middle of the night, light enters inside the room and everything is heard.

Comfortable bed. The owner kindly let us in when our bus arrived at 4am.
Extremely noisy!

The staff they were very thoughtful, everything was clean all the time. The value is completly worth it. The location also. Veryyy confortable beds!!
The doors arent wood so we could hear all the noise from the corridor and the light hitting inside the room.

Great place to stay, convenient little kitchen, great wifi, hot water, very clean. Included breakast at the hotel is good.
We booked one tour with the indoor travel agency, to lake 69. The tour was good, although they do make a quick stop for breakfast on the way in (it's normal, the tour starts at 4h30 am) at a restaurant near the national park, and I recommend packing your own breakfast, this restaurant offers crappy options for quite an expensive price.
Nothing to dislike.

Cheap and good location
Very noisy, the only way to get in is by ringing super loud ring that was right next to our room (but due to rooms layout everybody can hear it). Family is chilling in their living room/office till late with loud tv so you cannot really relax or sleep (laguna 69 tour starts at 4 am). Poor wifi signal, there was no water at all first night, had to find the owner to turn something on to take a shower.

The place is very comfortable. It's centrally located few minutes walking from bus terminals and central squares. The place is kept very clean. The breakfast is different every day and delicious. The hot water and a tea is available throughout the day. The owners (mother and son) are super nice and helpful. And they allowed me for a very early check in on the day of my arrival and to rest in one of the rooms in the evening before my departure... They provided tours at better prices than available in the town.
I felt too cold there!
