The staff was very nice and they were always there to assist us with anything that we needed help with. The decorations they did with the towels in the room for the kids was priceless.
Not much to say, but would have been good if there were more air conditioned public rooms. Mainly the game room and the kids playground had enough cooling

Super friendly staff, very clean, great breakfast
A little noisy due to construction, renovations happening , gave us late check out for any inconvenience

Great location, staff are super friendly and so helpful, room locations are great, food was excellent. The have heaps of kids activities for free like roasting marshmallows on the beach, movie nights, foam parties etc. the kids club is great, all the Nannie’s are lovely.
Very expensive, Australian prices for everything. The cocktails were horrible, worst margarita I’ve ever had!

The Hotel was lovely and the staff very helpful. Kevin on reception was always there to lend a hand if you needed anything.

The rooms are clean and spacious. Great dark bunk room in the kids' suite.
Kids club was good fun.
Buffet breakfast was amazing! So much choice! Kids loved the croffles!
We paid for the catamaran and Stanley was such a great driver. We really enjoyed that experience! Most of the staff were great, with a few exceptions (but that is human nature).
A child did a poo in the pool but the staff didn't tell anyone to get out of the pool. They just cleaned it up while everyone was still in the pool, so my 5 year old and I were swimming around in it and both got sick the next day. Gastro has gone through my whole family (including back in Australia now) and we have all been very sick.
I also saw them use tap water in the juicer/ in my juice at the juice bar. I can only assume they have filtered water in the kitchens, or that may have also been where we caught the illness.
Both experiences were very disappointing for such a high end resort that was very expensive!!! We ended our trip on what was supposed to be a luxury experience and it totally took the shine off a wonderful trip. We stayed at a 3 star resort in Legian for the week prior and no one got sick.
Due to our horrific illness we probably wouldn't return.
It also lacked a bit of spark. The place was a bit soul-less and quiet, but that may be due to the extensive renovations occurring.

Did not like 3 adults being put in family kid area too noisy every night

The entry and the location
Over priced... paid alot for premium rooms and had nothing premium about it... ran out of hot water every shower... staff were not very polite or helpful..
Pool shut early kids can't even swim after a day of adventure and dinner

Breakfasts were exceptional. We had All Inclusive - not cheap but we were able to eat and drink 24/7 and had access to the evening entertainment and banquets at no extra cost. This included their Chinese, Indian and beachfront restaurants. Better than having your hand in your pocket all day. Service was amazing and the staff so friendly. I even found clever towel arrangements by my expert room cleaner, Mandie. Truly relaxing.
Watch out for some of the marine operators at the beach close by. Most are fine, but a few were dodgy. Not actually part of the Grand Mirage, I believe.

It was great
Maybe more hand washing stations for washing hands before eating at the buffet. And hand gel.

The hotel is just too good for family who have little kids(My niece is 12 years old, but she still loves here!), it has 2 pools and you can also use the building next.
After going out from your room, you can feel heat straight! Because the hall area is so hot, I don't feel the hotel turns on aircondition.

Facilities fantastic for children
Locks on doors could be higher so toddlers/small kids can’t open them given railings and balcony are very easy to climb onto or fall over

Breakfast was amazing each day and the grounds/ gardens/ pools etc were fantastic
The food in the Chinese restaurant was extremely average. The food in the Indian restaurant tasted good however the portions were ridiculous. My main meal was 3 small bits of chicken floating around in a bowl of sauce. It was also expensive. This was the same for all 9 people in our party. When we complained the manager had no idea how to handle the issue. Drinks were served warm. The bottles of soft drink had not even been in the fridge at all. Overall the service in the resort was lacking. There didn't seem to be enough staff in any area, be it restaurants, at the pool or the beach. They were very slow and didn't appear to know what they were supposed to be doing. It was a let down.

Nice hotel. Great breakfast.
3.0 / 5.0
Breakfast is amazing, there is a ton of variety (indian/korean/japanese/continental/chinese/indonesian). The pool is big. The beach is sandy. However, be aware that the water is shallow and you will not be able to swim in the ocean.
Hotel is clearly outdated and needs renovation for the rooms. There are not enough sunbeds for the guests. The restaurants are very expensive. We have eaten two times there and the bill was 2x compared to a restaurant that is 3 minutes away (Sukun).
The drinks are also expensive. I could live with that, but as you know, the tap water in Bali is not drinkable. We have received every day 2 bottles of water (330 ml). This is unacceptable. I saw a water reservoir in the reception, but it was a 10 minute walk from our room. We have bought water from the store from accross the street.
Room is very noisy. You can hear everything from the sea and from the inside of the hotel.
Too expensive for what you get..

Breakfast was amazing - lots to choose from. Pools were great -Water park was a massive hit with our 5yo.
Can’t get drinks to room on all inclusive package and if staying in family side there is only 1 place to get drinks and they were not able to do majority of cocktails there.

Activities for kids , there are heaps my kids had a great time !
We had an issue on the next day to open our room , so we had to wait more than 2 hrs to get it solved it was annoying cause we wanted to get changed and go to the beach etc … at first it felt that he guy at the reception wasn’t taking serious maybe thinking we wanted upgrade or freebies but actually the door battery was dead and needed a replacement, after waiting for few hrs we got another room ( same one as our rate but upstairs) so we were annoyed that after waiting for so long he had to pack and move all the stuff and two kids kicking off .
We got offered a free lunch at their buffet which was really yummy .

Nothing.
Room had mould around skirting board of room and stunk. Food and drinks were overpriced. Unless you walked over to the Thalasso area to eat breakfast the buffet wasn't very nice. Haven't contacted Grand Mirage to try and resolve dissatisfiation and haven't not had a reply.

Loved the breakfasts and nice view from our room, comfy beds decent sized room. Staff lovely being kind to daughter
The condensation issue was annoying, had to have aircon going at all times or the room got extremely moist!
Unfortunately the beach and ocean had a lot of rubbish, no one swam in it

The range of amenities, such as the pool slide, children's indoor play area, and mini toddler splash play area, provided entertainment and fun for the whole family.
Moreover, I must commend the excellent service provided by a staff member named Chandra. Despite the challenges we faced, he went above and beyond to assist us. He helped book transport for my husband, who checked in late with luggage, and arranged for him to move to another side of the hotel. Chandra also extended his support by facilitating a late check-out, which was much appreciated.
Upon check-in, we noticed the room was not very clean. We immediately informed the staff, but to our dismay, the cleaning crew only showed up when we were about to sleep, even though we had informed them that we would be out for dinner. The balcony light and hot water were not working, and we had to wait until the next day to change rooms.
The hotel heavily marketed itself as a family resort, but we were disappointed to find that children's cutleries were unavailable, and the play areas were not properly monitored. Moreover, adults were openly smoking in non-smoking areas, ignoring the designated signage. The safety concerns extended to the children's pool and splash water play area, where we observed kids engaging in dangerous acts without supervision.
One noticeable issue was the hotel's understaffing, particularly during breakfast. The lack of manpower resulted in unattended tables and delayed service, including the timely clearing of cocktail glasses near the pool. Staff members appeared inexperienced, making it challenging for them to address guests' inquiries effectively.
As the night progressed, noise levels increased, and there was no effort to control rowdy drunken behavior among guests.
Additionally, the hotel's condition did not match the appealing images presented on the booking site. The rooms were outdated, with furniture and features requiring maintenance or upgrades. The bathroom mirrors' wood frames were faded and dusty, and the lack of a bidet and falling door hinges contributed to the overall disappointment.
Considering the hotel's high price, we expected a more satisfying experience. However, the shortcomings outweighed any positive aspects, leaving us with no plans of returning in the future.

Many facilities and programs for kids. Direct beach access, nice pools. Has enough TV channels.
Lack of maintenance on many points. Food is not always great. (breakfast had a great choice however). Most cocktails are hardly recognizable (cosmo, mohito etc.)

Infinity pool, main building, kids entertainment in Family Paradise section. Foam party.
Breakfast great in both buildings.
Main building and area is beautiful but we were in the Family Paradise side which was not mentioned in the booking at all and very misleading. While it was great for the kids with the facilities, I was disappointed with the building and room was average for the price really. When we arrived there was rubbish over the beach out
front and then walked next door and immediately felt disappointed not to be staying in the main building. You can stay in the main building and still have full access to the kid's activities. We asked to be moved to experience the other side after a few days which they were very good about. The room we were put in in the main building was the most beautiful hotel room I've ever stayed in with incredible views too. This was lovely but made me wonder why we weren't given the option to begin with. Maybe they hoped we wouldn't ask and would never know.. not sure but felt a bit robbed. I do think the other room was probably above the average and we got lucky. Overall it was a great stay if I forget the initial disappointment and short changing.
