Bed was comfortable and the room tidy
Vat of 20% on the price of a draft drink which was already dear
Told that by joining your loyalty scheme 10% would come off food and drinks but it only came off my food in your restaurant

Reception was excellent and the staff very efficient. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. Ironing facilities and a hairdryer in the room.
The bathroom was below the standards of the rest of the hotel, with the shower base seeming flimsy and the lotion dispensers a poor fit into their housing.

nothing
the smell of drains/sewers that made me vomit and i have had to throw my suitcase and some belonging away due to the lingering smell on them when i returned home
the electrics in my room blowing
the bug in my room
the attitude of staf
I booked in on Friday 28th June and the person on duty, Grahame, was very helpful, polite and professional. I was staying in room 427.
There was a slight smell of drains/sewers around the hotel and in it and it was unpleasant.
On Saturday 29th June at approximately 04:15, I was awake and went to make a cup of tea and the kettle started but then stopped and some of the lights went out as well but the TV remained on as did the iron I was using. The bathroom light did not work and I rang down to reception at 04:30 and asked if there was a problem with the electrics and Cristian told me that the electrics were fine downstairs and i explained i had a problem and explained what was and what wasnt working and he told me i should put the card in the reader and i found this patronising asnd rude as if the tv and some lights were working i clearly had done this. I told him so and his reply was what did i want him to do. I found this shocking, unbelievable and frankly disgusting.
I sat in my room unable to have a cup of tea or have a shower as the light didnt work in the bathroom and due to no windows was pitch black.
Eventually having heard nothing i put some clothes on and went downstairs and tried to discuss this with Cristian but yet again he was obnoxious and rude so I walked away because i was so upset and stressed by the situation and i had somewhere i was going that day and he was being unhelpful.
A while later i returned and asked about checking out and getting my money back for Saturday night and he said i would have to go through Booking.

I would just like to say what a wonderful hotel this was, myself and my partner, decided to have a couple of nights away and as I quite like Peterborough I thought I'd book this hotel. We had a lovely room to stay in the bed was absolutely lovely and the room was a nice temperature. Will definitely be heading back in the near future.

Best thing about the visit… the staff!

Excellent choice for breakfast and lots of assistance available if there was any doubts or you wanted n alternative to what was being offered. Spacious rooms, and the bed was comfortable.
The room not being serviced daily and the teas, coffees and milk only refilled by asking at reception. Room service is although available on request

Great location, fantastic staff. Nice hotel but could do with sone extra cleaning and tweaking
Kettle set up in a stand with no- where to plug in so had to set it elsewhere, asked for twin bed last but they had been put together, when separated them could see it hadn’t been cleaned as dust and dirty tissue, spare pillows in bag had been used so had to get house cleaning to provide fresh ones.

Room was large and seemed clean, although I did find the backing of an earring on the floor tangled with someone else's hair, so perhaps the vacuuming hadn't been overly thorough.
Hotel was pretty quiet, although the air con was rather noisy (and the controls had definitely been overused in the past, as the buttons weren't very responsive and the unit looked as though it had seen much better days and was rather wobbly in terms of attachment to the wall). Had a great outlook of the BT building next door, but it did mean that when I opened the window in the morning (I didn't spend much time in the room of the evening, as I needed to be elsewhere, and so didn't look closely enough until then!), the traffic noise was definitely more quiet than I would have been, had I been in a room which faced the road.
Bathroom was a good size and the shower was good. Nice touch that body wash, shampoo and conditioner are provided (only ever seen "washes everything" provided in other hotels).
Breakfast had a huge selection of goods, including fruit juice, fruit, cereals, toast (including gluten free goodies and a dedicated gluten free toaster), baked goods, yoghurts (and non dairy alternatives), ham and cheese (although rather depleted when I saw it, however I'm sure if I'd asked, they would have supplied more), and the usual "full english" items.
Do be aware though that the hot buffet food is removed after a certain time (I think about 9am - weekday breakfast is served 06:30-09:30), although the kitchen will plate up hot food for you on request. I stepped away for a moment and when I returned, the hot food had gone!! I personally prefer to be able to choose items myself, but it wasn't the end of the world.
Staff all seemed very cheerful and polite, everyone I walked past in the morning said "good morning".
A few of the fixtures and fittings seemed a little tired and needed some TLC... the aforementioned air con control unit needs replacing; one of the bedside "cabinets"/table/ledge was rather wonky - it looked as though perhaps someone had sat on it and it did not take their weight!; the bathroom mirror had slightly damaged backing (although still fully functional); and the bathroom countertype was quite scratched.
A little more care is needed with vacuuming.
However the "issues" I have recalled are all small things, and did not affect my stay and I'm sure are things which get broken/damaged easily during the usual churn/footfall of a regular hotel. (I'd love to know how the person broke that bedside table though!!) You would think that housekeeping should be picking up on some of them, however I'm sure they have their work cut out for them on most days though! *shrug*

Function in big private restaurant but catering trolley was going up and down through the reception area as we are having our drinks before dinner and during dinner.
