Location ideal for us and staff very friendly
It is a bit jaded
3.8
Staff very friendly and efficient.
Room 2, Quite dated, also my room was next to the toilets unfortunately. The hand dry machine was very loud up to 2345. Window wouldn’t shut properly allowing street noise through out the night
Curtain wouldn’t shut properly allowing light in to the room from 4am onwards.
Overall not a good experience for the price

Room warm and clean
Repairs required in Bathroom and generally throughout the hotel

Location
Appreciate the building is old, however, internal decoration very tired and could do with an update. Our room had wallpaper peeling off in a couple of areas. Bathroom was functional, but again could do with being refreshed/decorated/updating. Also during our stay, for the majority of the time, we were unable to access any tv stations all we had was a scenic picture and the message 'No signal'.

Location, free car parking
No practical lift system, need to carry heavy suitcases up and down a dodgy staircase, no water in rooms, no safe in rooms, small storage area in room, low bed Profile, shower and body wash dispensers not topped up, breakfast times restrictive, entrance to hotel on a side street on a curve!

the Hotel team were outstanding. Their attitude and approach overcame the difficulties and shortcomings caused by the clear lack of inward investment in maintenance of the property!
The maintenance of the property - paintwork furnishings etc etc all tired and run down.

the Hotel is in a great location for Huntingdon and the surrounding area with area of interest including Cambridge and Grafham Water. The staff go above and beyond to help and drinks and food are good. The breakfast is plenty for a good start to the day.
The rooms need some TLC. The bathrooms could do with an upgrade although most rooms have big old fashioned baths which are lovely to relax in. There is an old fashioned charm to the hotel which would be improved with some redecorating.

The staff were great. Friendly and welcoming and they did all they could to make us feel comfortable and happy. We had a great evening meal and the service was commendable. Great stay.
The building is old and therefore the furnishings and accommodation reflected its age. However it didn't affect our stay. The rooms were big and clean and served their purpose. We had a great stay and it was central to the town and in fairness the streets were quiet too. Not expected as it was a Saturday night 🤷♀️

Breakfast was good, staff were very friendly .
Dinner was OK but could have been better, tasted a bit like a microwave meal.

It was clean
Food was good at breakfast
Coffee cold
The walk from reception to our room was so far away along corridors,up stairs, down stairs throught doors with my aging father and carrying bags, cases this was not Ideal.
The sloping floors in the room were not good for my elderly father and my bed was on a angle due to the UN even floor
The shower over the bath.. ran hot, cold , boiling hot then freezing cold and I'm only 5'4 and once standing under the shower my head nearly touched the ceiling so no good for tall people

olde world - but nice. dated but in a good way.
bedroom number one. floorboards creak badly

Located in the middle of town and only short walk from rail station. Friendly and efficient welcome. Good price including excellent breakfast.
Decor a bit tired but didn’t affect stay.

Staff were very good. Stay was great. Floorboards a bit noisy. Food really tasty and good value.
Nothing really. Having a lie in is a bit tricky as as soon as anyone moves it's noisy

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly throughout the stay. I requested a quiet room and was given a room away from the main through fare of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable. There was a good choice of breakfast options and the staff were very attentive.
Some of the public area decor in the accommodation area of the hotel is looking a little tired and in need of refreshing.

The staff were friendly, welcoming and made you feel very comfortable. the room was clean and tidy. the cleaner came into my room to clean and refresh the stores which i didn't expect.as i was only staying 2 nights. I mentioned i was cold during the night and she offered me another blanket and mentioned to for me to let the reception staff know as they would if needed offer to help. When i returned to my room later in the day i realised the radiator was switched off and once i turned it on the room heated.
the decor was out dated. the bath panel was chipped. the wall paper under the radiator was peeled off exposing the plaster board and the window was not able to be closed at the top causing a cold breeze to the room. I didn't report this to anyone because the staff were so lovely and i didnt want to be a bother as i was staying for only 2 nights. The visit was planned at short notice due and by the time i noticed the condition of the room it was late and i was tired from travelling. If the visit was longer i would of mentioned this to the reception staff. The friendliness of the staff would encourage me to book again when i return to Huntingdon with my family in the next few weeks.

Not much really. The bar was rustic and comfortable.
We were placed at the very end of the top floor. Two flights of stairs. Wife used the stair lift for the first as no lifts. The second staircase was quite dangerous for two 75 plussers like ourselves. We were told we should have called the hotel first to try to get a ground floor room. No indication of this problem on the booking.com site. We checked out after the first night. Hotel needs some renovation work for sure.
