Excellent fantastic location and views for the bedroom...
The only small thing were the doors being slammed however, they were fire doors so understandable

Beautiful hotel and setting. Such a lovely happy team who clearly enjoy their work. Nothing they wouldn't do to make sure our stay was perfect. Extensive breakfast covering all likes and diets. Fab evening meals with really good selection. Never managed a dessert!
Added attraction of George the resident peacock and his two wives Charlotte and Catherine!
Everything was perfect for our stay.

Room was nice and clean, dual aspect. The bathroom had excellent lighting. The grounds we good would be lovely in the summer with the good weather. Loved the peacock.
Not much atmosphere but that was no fault of the hotel or staff, just down to the economy and lack of paying guests. Limited menu choice but again understandable due the amount of guests staying and the kitchen not wanting to stock produce that would not be used.

Friendly staff, lovely grounds, comfy bed, quiet location - water mill and peacocks an added bonus! We also enjoyed an excellent dinner in the restaurant. Thanks for a great stay.
Bathroom was a bit outdated and could do with some attention, but not a big issue.

Setting was idyllic, with the feature of the original water wheel & works able to be viewed from outside & inside the property. rooms were very comfortable & with the added advantage of the ability to charge an electric vehicle if required.

Setting was lovely, good food, and nice selection
There was no heating in the room when we arrived ,soon corrected when I turned on the radiators but felt it should have warmed before we arrived

Friendly staff make it a home from home. Everyone from the manager to the room staff make you so welcome. Evening meal was lovely food & good value. Breakfast is again same high quality.
Nothing not to like but just be aware of beams in some rooms as 14th Century building, might not be ideal for taller guests.

Everything ticked all the boxes. Inviting, Christmassy, friendly, warm, good food. Ducks and peacocks in courtyard and pond. Upgraded room with four poster bed. No extra charge. Working water wheel integrated into hotel rooms. Cleverly done behind glass windows. Unique. Good meals and service.
Nothing disappointed.

friendly staff, very clean and comfortable. We had a fabulous Sunday lunch with visiting friends and family, and the breakfasts were lovely. plenty of choice and good service. we would definitely come again. The overall ambience was superb. Meals were good. Cooked breakfast was very good although maybe a little generous in the portions. Attitude of staff was excellent.
In room 9 the bathroom door has low headroom. A warning notice on the wall might be useful. I banged my head a couple of times.

Great location, very friendly & hard working staff, very good food reasonably priced, lovely grounds. We loved the history, which has been preserved associated with the hotel.
Some of the rooms including our shower we’re looking a little bit tired but that was acknowledged by the owner.

location good. Attractive gardens.
Restaurant food good and value for money.
Uncomfortable bed and pillow
no air conditioning

The staff were very attentive.
The grounds and building were atmospheric.
The drab reception area could put you off - but don't let it.
For us lighting in bddroom could have been brighter and more intefesting.

Had great character and nice grounds to wander around.
Nothing !

The grounds are beautiful and the staff are super friendly and helpful, it has a family-run vibe to it.
The bed was on a bit of a slope, probably because the floor isn't level, so I found myself rolling to the edge in the night. Matress wasn't particularly comfy.
The shower is hot and powerful but fills the entire cubicle, making it quite hard to dodge the water if/when needed!
Breakfast was fine (particularly the cooked to order menu) but dinner was disappointing. Lamb burger was clearly cooked from frozen, chips were average, and the drinks were decidedly average.

nice setting
bit dated pictures didn’t live up to Whot is is now caters more for weddings and guests not for a nice week end away people not 4 star as it says evening meals limited staff need better training in laying up a table for evening meals ask for wine list and order a bottle of white £23 got came to the table no cooler just plonk down no glasses not till we open it to find it was a cheaper bottle of wine but next day had a word with the manager told the waitress gave us the wrong list but still trying to charge me for it but it got resolved no charge

Beautiful location, great staff and excellent food.

The room was full of character and the property is set in a beautiful location.

Loved the setting and rustic feel of the building - peacock and pea hens were a highlight, same as the space, the mill and the grounds
The common areas could do with a freshen up/clean (sorry) especially the windows. Otherwise, our room was lovely and the bed really comfortable. Friendly staff (one person manning the desk, the bar and serving the food, multi tasking at its best)

Loved the location, setting and facilities. Staff so friendly and felt very relaxed there. Food excellent. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.
Nothing. Loved everything
10.0
The location was perfect for gaining access to several A roads for speed of travel to the coast, but at the same time secluded in a beautiful rural location providing lanes into the countryside for the keen walker. The meals provided were of larger portions and excellent value, the building was historical with staff that provided a very homely warm experience set in beautiful grounds.
I could not pick fault with anything.
