Great staff. Knowledgeable on local walks and safe conditions. Friendly and proactive in giving information. Brilliant breakfast served so well.
The lack of an array of mobile charging leads. No on site masseurs for weary travellers and not a single rainbow pony! It was great you deliver what you promise.

The small tokens, treat bag for my dog, sweets on pillow, pillow mist, all the coffee teas hot chocolate in the room. My dog even got a doggy breakfast. The staff absolutely make this hotel!! They are absolutely lush and make a fuss of your dog. Also make you feel so welcome. I've been to keswick alot and this hotel beats them all!! Lush hotel and staff if I could give 10 stars I would xx

Great location. Very good breakfast. Helpful staff. Room was small but comfortable and with all what you need. We got there by bicycle and they allowed us to leave them inside the premises during the night.

We have stayed here many times over the years and it never disappoints. Excellent food. Extremely doggy friendly - our dogs love it! Staff are very friendly and helpful. A lovely place to stay in the centre of Keswick.

Very good breakfast. Excellent location on Main Street.
No complaints at all.

A super location and wonderful room. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We loved that it was dog friendly.
I’d searched for an accessible room and this place came up. Unfortunately there were stairs everywhere, and even in the bedroom to get to the bathroom. I’d suggest updating your listing.
Parking was tricky too but fortunately we could park on the street with the disabled badge,

The breakfast and bar food menu was excellent, as was the service. The Royal Oak is perfectly situated in the pedestrianised town square, with easy access to all amenities. We have stayed there over 10 times and can't wait to go back.
Our room was very spacious and comfortable, however the shower cubicle is awful. Very tight to access and the floor is seriously slippy. The en-suite is large enough to accommodate a better cubicle. Sort it out Royal Oak

Location is great … and the staff made us feel so welcome from the very beginning to the very end.
Terrific breakfast and dining in the evening was also excellent!
The temperature of the shower was wildly inconsistent.

Room very hot and noisy in the evening
Bar and breakfast staff slow, inattentive and orders misunderstood.
Expensive and no car parking which cost us an extra £23 for two nights in public car park

Nice and clean room, excellent location, love the food (breakfast included, also good).
Also is dog friendly, Dan got sausages and biscuits every time, love the people there, and they even have a blackboard showing the day’s weather, which is very thoughtful if you suddenly wanna have a walk after the meal ;)
Will definitely come back again.
Very nice, nothing to command here.

The position of hotel, bar and restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Room 12 which we were staying in looked out onto the back of other properties. We could hear the bins being emptied early in the morning and also there was an air conditioning unit outside or near our bedroom window which was on all the time.

I have to say first impressions were great the lady in the bar area was very welcoming when we arrived. After completing a long walk around the Derwent Water before we arrived she was happy to let us sit and relax with a drink before showing us to our room.
We decided to have our evening meal in the restaurant as it was lovely, warm and welcoming and has a good range of food and drinks on offer. There was a little mix up over our order, both the starters and mains were delivered to the table at the same time, but it was quickly rectified by the lovely dark haired lady who we met earlier on check in. Apologies, I didn't get her name. The food was lovely, I opted for the Olives and Fish Mongers plate, it was delicious and my husband had the Pork and black pudding scotch egg and the Steak Pie.
We had breakfast included in the room rate. again we received a very warm welcome from the staff. There is a great choice of options form fruit and yogurt and cereal to full cumbrian breakfasts or even Eggs Benedict.
It is ideally located on the hight street and close to all amenities. Whilst there is no direct parking at the hotel there are pay and display just a few minutes walk away in all directions.
Would definitely consider staying again when we are next in the area or even just call i
Unfortunately for us, the bed was a little too soft for our taste so we didn't sleep great. But this is a personal preference, not the owners fault.
We were in room 20 and quite near the stairs so we could hear a lot of noise when people were turning to their rooms and exiting in the morning. But again, I think that is the nature of the building. We were supplied with eye masks and ear plugs in the room if we needed them. He heard no noise at all from outside it was lovely and quiet throughout the night.

Accommodation, food and staff were very good
Breakfast was exceptional. We hat our evening meal at the hotel which again was very good and reasonably priced by today’s standards.
Unfortunately there is no car park so you have to walk half a mile to the nearest long stay. Allow an additional £11.00 for overnight parking. The weather was good when we stayed so no major problem for the short walk

Very warm, welcoming staff. Our room was a good size and nice and comfortable. Our dog was also made to feel very welcome, even receiving her own sausage at breakfast. The food was very good and we shall definitely return.
