The location was very central
The bass from neighbouring club was making the headboard rattle and boomed through the room. I called down to the front desk to request to be moved to the other side of the building several times and no one picked up. When I reported this to reception in the morning the lady just shrugged and said ‘yes it’s the club’ if your website stated that it is a lively area instead of “Perfect for guests who want to relax and unwind” then we would’ve expected 3 sleepless nights but as it stands, you completely misrepresent. The pool is actually at another facility across the road and the rooms are dated and tired looking. I have given my feedback to the hotel and asked for a response but again have been ignored. Would absolutely not recommend as ruined what could have been a very handy location. Certainly not 4 starts if this is what you usually book.

Having read the reviews before I booked, I agree and confirm that the locations is perfect!!!
If you're looking for accommodation located in the heart of Auckland CBD near the restaurants and bars of the Viaduct Basin, this location is excellent. It's right on Customs Street (East) and the hotel lobby has entry/exit doors leading to the Viaduct, so it's just a short walk to great views and a lovely relaxed vibe. If you don't mind paying $326 per night (plus a $50 bond for each night you stay) for a weekend of fun and frivolity in the city, this is the place for you.
The size of the room was true to the pics online but it seemed smaller in person. Lovely soft bed and there were plenty of extra blankets, which we didn't need but it was comforting to know we had them if needed.
The big sliding window let in a lot of fresh air along with the aromas for good food and fresh coffee in the morning and music, cheering and laughter in the evenings.
The STAFF are amazing, especially during check-in and check-out. They're really accommodating, they don't try to rush you out the door, always had smiles and were polite and respectful. That kind of service really sets the tone for an enjoyable stay.
LOVED THE STAFF!!!
LOVED THE COFFEE PODS/MAKER!!!
LOVED THE BATHTUB!!!
LOVED THE WASHER AND DRYER!!!
LOVED THE VIEW AND VIBE OF THE VIADUCT!!!
As I said, having read the reviews before booking, I knew that there were going to be some issues.
TO BE CLEAR THESE ARE NOT COMPLAINTS JUST THINGS FOR OTHERS TO BE MINDFUL OF BEFORE BOOKING AND FOR THE OWNERS/MANAGERS TO CONSIDER IMPLEMENTING IN FUTURE.
NOISE: This particular room is located on the first floor of the hotel which puts you right above the bars. The music is loud and it doesn't wind down until around 3am. Know that before you book here AND If you read the reviews and still choose to stay, DON'T COMPLAIN. We were happy so it didn't bother us at all.
BATHROOM: The toilet, shower, bathtub and sinks were clean, as is expected. However, behind the doors there was hair and dust accumulating in the corners, the backs of the doors, around the door handles, need wiping down and so do the light fixtures (not the switches). The flecks of fly poop along with fingerprints from whoever changed the lights, clearly showed.
TOWELS: 1 towel per person is not enough. It is not even standard practice anymore. For $326.00 per night patrons deserve at least 2 towels. Also, have black face cloths to avoid the white cloths being stained with make-up.
HOT WATER: hot water is is limited as the room only has a hot water cylinder. If you want to take a bath, you will have to wait for the cylinder to refill and reheat before using the shower or washing dishes. This should be mentioned in the booking process as people may have an expectation of unlimited hot water.
THE ROOM/LOUNGE: Same thing with the light fixtures in the ceiling, they need a serious clean and perhaps covers installed over them. You can see peoples fingerprints smudged around the edges, and it's really noticeable. Also, the sofa is dated and uncomfortable, please consider upgrading. Add a dustpan/shovel too.
ROBES: There were none. I checked. Don't advertise them it if they aren't available.
BALCONY: its tiny. Its a tiny little alcove for 1 person.

Location
At 1:30, the music was still blaring from Fox’s bar downstairs it was like they had a band in the room

Good location
Got a marina view apparently you had to go into. Corner to look at the view couldn’t sit on couch and look out at it.
Also the noise for downstairs bar which had a live band you couldn’t sleep that well and we had people knocking on our door also at 1am waking us up.

always a good spot to stay for my travel
I Travel a lot and the only gripe I have with Sebel Viaduct is the billing process. I always have to chase my invoices every stay and this last time they missed some charges so invoiced me again which is fair, but I have been asking for an invoice to match my expenses for two months and still haven't received it despite four phone calls. This is the only hotel I have issues with invoicing. There is certainly room for improvement or even staff training.

The location was great. 11am check out.
The room was very expensive. As others have said the rooms are dated. I was also surprised to have to pay for wifi, especially with the price of the room.
We paid a lot of money and had a view of stones on a roof top as well as the water.

Location was right in the viaduct. Large rooms and lovely facilities.
Right above the bar with live music until 2 am. Even though the music was great was difficult to sleep. Staff said we could get earplugs but we thought at the time how bad can it be. We really wished we would have got the ear plugs. You need them.
