The staff were amazing, particularly Queen B at Baravi and our butler Jerry.
The main pool is small for a resort this size. Food prices were high. The only ala Carte breakfast options are at the adults only area which is disappointing for those with children.

Pool was great for families. Activities for kids were wonderful.
Food could have been better for the price.

Beautiful resort with friendly local personnel. You’ve got everything you need here - a comfortable bed, clean room, ocean view, different stores - food, clothes, souvenirs …, restaurants, bars, spa and other activities. Although it’s perfect for families, we appreciated the fact that they have adults only pool and restaurant in the resort.

We absolutely loved the Fijian Staff at Outrigger they were like family it was like being at home, massive shout out to the staff at Vale Ni Kana our lovely Fijian mum Marica there she was so lovely and her hospitality was amazing and the staff at Vakavanua Lounge especially our bros Malakai and Manasa (apologies if the names aren't spelt right) always coming through for us the crazy 5 tongan ladies with our drink orders and the rest of the staff there too whom we saw most nights there when we'd come through they were all awesome, not forgetting the awesome staff always posted out front reception and entry and the lobby, the bro Sola or Saula (sorry if the names wrong) always checking on us and right up to the housekeeping staff too, just everyone we got to know there and our cousin Josh and his cool aerobics moves lol and shout out to Security for helping find my sister's mobile phone.
I think the food can be a hit and miss sometimes, also quite pricey. Best times to buy drinks is during HAPPY HOUR!. I think there needs to be some re-evaluating price and food quality wise but everything else was FABULOUS!!

The rooms have been recently renovated and the room are super cozy and chic.
Massive property with a lot of small children. Not a lot of options for food beside the buffet.

The resort was a lot better than I was expecting... the rooms were old but had been repainted and revitalised. The resort has a seperate adults pool which was calm and relaxing which was great - much nicer location for breakfast! And then the main family pool - which was pretty loud and crazy with lots of kids. I wouldn't have wanted to be swimming in the main pool at the end of the day with the amount of kids in the water!! ;) But you get that at any resort, and the hotel staff managed the sanitation and filtration of the pool really well I think.
The biggest surprise was the food - possibly the best variety and quality of food I've had at any of the resorts in Fiji and I've stayed at a lot of them! The food was excellent and pricing was not extortionate (on Fiji standards). The Flying Fin next door was also very very good if you want to eat away from the resort.
The drinks service is incredibly slow... you pretty much need to order your next drink at the time you get your first drink as it will take a long time to get to you! Especially during happy hour. Also the cocktails are made using syrups rather than blended spirits, so some of them weren't quite what I was expecting.
The beach was a disappointment. Unfortunately, our timing wasn't good re tide times. There isn't a lot of water in the low tide - you have to walk out a fair way to snorkel and we didn't see much when we did go snorkelling - when compared to other places we have been.

The staff are wonderful. Friendly, kind, caring, engaging. Awesome.
Price of food in the restaurants was criminal. So expensive. The quality was very average. The resort is 80 minutes drive from the airport. Not much in the local area to do, therefore locked into eating at resort.

Everything is pricey.

Great resort. Very nice staff and facilities. We had a beach front room that was beautiful
Limited food options. Very hard to just by casual food when you want to. Ie a sandwich. I just don’t want a hot meal or to “dine” 3 times a day.
We had one of the most premium rooms at the resort but apart from the lovely afternoon butler visit I felt that we had no advantage or benefits compared to those that stayed in the cheapest rooms I.e only managed to get a poolside seat at the main pool once and only got a covered seat at the adult pool once.
While you can’t “ reserve” a seat at the pool in reality they are taken early and then people swim all day leaving their items on the chairs while they swim.
Other Outriggers have more rewards provided for those in the more expensive rooms

The staff were so beautiful, friendly and accommodating (One staff member in particular, her name was Sava, was SO sweet!). There was always enough seating at the pools, our room was clean and the food (whilst pricey) was delicious. Coffee was excellent, especially at the Sundowner.
The pillows on the beds weren't very comfortable, and we would have loved a kava ceremony for all guests rather than once a week for a limited number of guests. Essentials are very expensive, stop at a supermarket on your way to the resort to stock up on bottled water and snacks. Whilst not the fault of the resort, the beach isn't great for swimming as it is very shallow with lots of rocks and coral. Unfortunately, a lot of coral bleaching has occurred which limited the amount of sea life there.

Staff were friendly and loved that kids get to eat free! Hotel room were also a comfortable stay and enjoyed the butler service bringing canapés and drinks daily. My kids loved the pool!
We made requests for food to have no seasoning and vegetables to be well cooked (for the baby) but every time this was ignored when the food arrived. The food was also a hit or a miss every time . Limited dining options and free activities to enjoy during stay at resort. Kids club village was also a bit run down. Housekeeping were slow to respond to requests . Felt it was expensive for what we got

Review: Outrigger
I stayed at the outrigger Fiji for 8 nights towards the end of their hot season with my partner and 8 month old baby. Here’s my comprehensive overview of pros and cons:
Pro’s
-The food! There were four main restaurants open when we went (one under renovation) and we were blown away by the quality of the meals. We had an amazing dinner at the award winning seafood restaurant, IVI, but the standout has to be the buffet restaurant up by the adult pool area and bar. each night they had a different country cuisine and each night we went, we were so stuffed to the brim because we wanted to try everything twice. The buffet breakfast is also a 10/10.
-the people. I don’t know who to praise the most. The service really is out of this world, from the moment you enter the property each person greets you with some happiness and enthusiasm you can’t help but smile constantly. Everyone remembered our names, especially our baby daughter who truly was the main character. I’ve never experienced service like it.
-the meimei service. We hired a nanny to look after our baby for two days, in four hour slots. Vani, our meimei was just incredible and we trusted her entirely. They were kind, attentive and most importantly, safe. And the centre itself was the perfect place for kids to hang out whilst my partner and I enjoyed some much needed us time!
-our room was divine. We had originally booked an ocean view room but were upgraded on arrival to an ocean view premium room which had recently undergone full renovations. Everything was perfect and new, huge comfy bed and large tv with chrome cast so we could stream movies. The shower in particular was luxurious. We were also right next to the pool which made life that much easier so we could easily pop back for nap time.
-the butler service that came with our room was such a nice touch and we looked forward to our bubbles and canapés every evening.
-the adult pool is perfect and the swim up bar is a bonus.
Cons
-the renovations happening such as the pool slides, the Thai restaurant and half of the rooms was a little unideal for the aesthetic element and noises, but anyone booking in future won’t be affected by this.
-the general store on the resort had a lot less than we bargained for and we had to leave to find a supermarket to buy more formula and nappies. Just an fyi for parents-bring extra!
- about an hour + trip from the airport and not a huge amount around the resort unless you’re willing to drive / organise transfers.
Note to management - we loved the kalokalo bar but would have loved food to be served (we heard it used to be a tapas bar) as it’s such beautiful views we wanted to stay but got hungry & left early.
Overall, we absolutely loved our stay at outrigger Fiji and can’t wait to return! A 10/10 must visit for families.

loved the people so friendly inviting and attentive, the location exceeded expectations, what this resort has to offer is of absolute abundance!
we weren’t properly aware of the bond, 5 of us booked and all missed the information about the bond,it wasn’t made obvious to read or see, it was no where to be found on booking.com,We also all tried to find it on the actual outrigger website. although it all works out in the end and goes towards your bill, this should be clearer upon booking and should be added to the important information section on booking.com.
