Lovely spacious room, we upgraded to a superior room, as we were travelling with 2x dogs. Definitely worth the price. The room was very large. Massive bed and ample room for 2 large dogs and their beds.
4.1
The old traditional exterior
Dirty, water stained tea and coffee jugs
Water stained glasses

Awful experience- offered an upgrade for£20, which I didn’t take.
When I got to my room it was freezing. The radiator was off. I turned it on after 15 mins the radiator had not warmed up/ I called reception who informed me they would come and check it out.
After 1 5 mins I called back down as no one arrived. I was getting frustrated at this point as I needed to work.
Someone came 5 mins later.
He said the boiler was not working and offered me a space heater. He told me no other rooms were available.
Considering I was offered an upgrade I found this hard to believe.
I refused to stay in a cold room with a space heater.
I checked out immediately and changed hotels.
I was offered no apology on site and just offered a ‘ yes I would be annoyed too’.
Left annoyed frustrated and cold. Would not recommend and would not be going back.

Location
Our room smelt of smoke which when questioned by the manager said it was just chemicals . Because it was bank holiday the hotel was full so we were unable to change our room .

Slightly dated in area although there was work taking place to upgrade.

I was really shocked at how lovely this hotel was. It was just a quick stop over for me which I am disappointed about as the hotel room and facilities were amazing and the location was fab
Very hot

Size of the rooms and views from bedroom were beautiful, breakfast was good

Nice spacious room. Pet friendly. Love the building and location.
WiFi dropped off and lost some work I had to redo. Shower was boiling hot and couldn't turn dit down. Had the same issue last time I stayed here and reported it then and again. Another guest at reception had the same issue. Has put me off a bit staying again.

Very friendly and helpful receptionist.
Booked us in the restaurant although we were late.

Very well appointed room
Nothing to dislike. So close to the sea as well. . Hotel buikding itself very representative of Victorian grandeur
4.1
Great Location with good breakfast and clean rooms
There was very little Parking in the Hotel. You had to park quite a distance up the street.

Beautiful old building - well maintained throughout. We upgraded to the junior master suite - amazing! It did not disappoint! The four poster bed was so comfortable and the free standing bath was a wonderful experience!
It was too short!

Most of the staff were super friendly and helpful.
Pre-paying for everything may be the hotel policy but it makes you feel like a criminal. One staff member in particular was particularly unhelpful and unsympathetic. Extremely few parking places are available given the size of the hotel, the parking permit requirement to park in the road outside is not transparent, poorly implemented, not very well explained, and landed in me receiving two parking tickets during the course of my stay. The hotel itself is a rabbit warren, I booked 4 rooms in total for family members and they were spread out across three different floors. There are too many stairs and not enough facilities for the disabled or elderly, even getting from the hotel ground floor down to road level.

The room was very comfortable and clean and had a fan which was very helpful with the heat.
The bathroom was also very clean with a good shower.
The food in the restaurant was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
I liked the location right at the coast with lovely walks nearby.
First impressions are important and upon entering the hotel I noticed how dirty the carpets were in the reception area.
I know it is a dog friendly hotel but it did make me worry slightly about the state of the rest of the hotel.
Thankfully everything else was fine.

It has character
No air conditioning meant the room was like sleeping in a Sauna. Our room was right be the elevator so was very noisy.
4.1
Position of hotel is excellent. The room was clean and comfortable, good to have complimentary water in the room. Nice shower with shower gel and body lotion included. Checking in and checking out was very straightforward.
We found breakfast a little disappointing, brown bread, beans and eggs ran out and it was a while before they were replaced.

The staff were fabulous extremely helpful. Breakfast was great and very comfy bed. The Bay Tree Bar was lovely.
Could have done with a table in room by window to look at view and eat breakfast.
Bottled water and biscuits would gave been nice.
Room very hot

needed somewhere to stay very last minute and was pleased to find a room at the Burlington for a very reasonable price. the young lad on reception (Gary) was incredibly friendly and helpful and had me checked in with no fuss. Clean, comfortable room and was just what I needed for the night.
4.1
very clean and comfortable room with excellent reception staff
we were disappointed with the breakfast, it didn’t reflect the menu we had been sent prior to our stay. my partner was expecting the ‘garden’ breakfast and I was looking forward to smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, none of which was evident.
4.1
stayed here before it’s beautiful build lovely staff amazing food and bar everything you need in one place definitely a place to relax
nothing
4.1
Food was good and the staff were very accommodating.
Our room was comfortable, but I think there were staff quarters above us, and we could hear them going about after their shift, because of the floorboards.
Some thought the plates were a bit small for breakfast, and the parking facility was a challenge.
