The staff were excellent, so friendly and helpful. This was the main positive thing about the hotel.
The location was scary for two women travelling alone. There were needles on the steps up to the hotel and homeless people in the surrounding area.
We booked the hotel as being accessible, but for my mum on a mobility scooter, the lift to the hotel was via the gym, literally weaving in between the equipment. The car park was on a different level and although we could go up a ramp, it was long and winding.

Lovely staff throughout. First when checking in and then the bar staff too. They were all very friendly chatty and polite. Rooms were nice, fully equipped.
Could do with complimentary water in the room as woke up very thirsty. Also was advised they had vegan options for breakfast and to just tell the chef in the morning. When ordering breakfast there were no vegan options as sold out. Staff did go to local shop to find some however were unsuccessful. Redund was given.

The staff was wonderful, very kind. They make you feel very welcome, and accommodating. The property is located outside the city center, but for my purpose (near a wedding venue) it was located perfectly. If you want to go to the center, it is located very near to one of the free busses / bus stops of the free bus to the city center! It’s also a short walk to the metrolink / tram so you have easy access to the airport and the city center. If you wanted to you could use the sport center facilities like the swimming pool, gym, or sauna. I never used any of these so I can’t say anything about their status. The room, bed and towels are very clean.
The hotel is outdated. It feels all very old and therefore a bit grimy. It isn’t dirty at all, just feels all a bit old and therefore a bit off. The lighting is poor, if gives very TL lights vibe and you either have big lights or no lights. There is no little light option to read before sleep or go to the toilet at night. And when you take a shower, the shower curtain blocks the light of the bathroom so you shower in the dark. The door to the hallway is very bad quality so you will see the light of the hallway go on and hear everyone on the hallway at night (which woke me up every time as a light sleeper). The walls don’t have that because you don’t hear room to room. But it means everyone in the hallway can hear your conversations through the door as well. The room is very warm. Even when the radiator is turned off it is emitting heat so it is boiling. You can’t leave open the windows because of the noise outside (which you absolutely don’t hear when the windows are closed!)

Great location and has a lot of facilities. Bedroom decent.
Bathroom was a bit tired and below par for what was paid.
Couldn’t get served in the bar at night as no staff on (to be fair, only 2 people in the bar at that time so probably popping in and out)

The hotel and facilities are nice and clean and breakfast was good
We paid 184.00 for a room, but it was definitely more like a £100.00 room if that. Was very disappointed when we saw it. I'm sure there are nicer rooms, we just weren't in one.

Breakfast was lovely, fresh.
We had to que a bit for breakfast and once we got the front we had to wait for more food to come out, the trays were a bit small so would say make them a bit bigger.

Bathroom door had been chewed at bottom by a dog at some point and bathroom smelt of dogs

The Castlefield was the perfect space for a weekend trip to Manchester. The rooms were no-frills but clean and had everything we needed. The access to the YMCA was also a bonus!
3.5
Including entry to the gym and swimming pool, sauna, steam. Big room with everything needed.
Car parking was an extra charge not stated when I booked via booking.com.
People smoking weed just outside reception.

Nice set up. Friendly staff. Good location.
I'm not a fan of hotels charging extra for on site parking. Not a trend I like at all. Just include it in the room price.

Location to town is superb, parking excellent. Very friendly staff.
Had to leave the windows open all the time in December due heating and water pipes constantly hot, this wouldn't stop us booking again.
3.0
The room was clean and spacious, with tea/coffee making facilities, a TV etc. The location is really great for accessing Manchester city centre.
The rooms are so dark, getting ready in the morning was a challenge. The very small car park was full and I had to wait a while, but there was some confusion with the receptionist about whether I had paid for parking or not, and I hadn't been issued a ticket on arrival so wasn't confident I could leave in the morning.

Nothing except maybe a little warm in the room
4.5
Such an amazing hotel, so clean and tidy, facilities are second to none, you have a pool, a gym, a bar, restaurant etc
Staff were exceptional, polite and friendly, nothing was too much bother, my daughter and I even witnessed a member of staff take some hot food and drink over to a homeless person sleeping in the castlefield bowl
Would fully recommend this hotel
If there was anything I had to find wrong then I'd say that they now have to charge £1.20 when you arrive which is, apparently, a new tax bought in by the council, I just feel this should be stated on the website

All the reception staff were really friendly and professional. The standard of cleaning was high. There was ample space in the bedroom and bathroom to put our clothes and toiletries.

Excellent staff, decent gym, very nice sauna.
Tea was nice.
There was mold in the corners of the room, I had an allergy attack because of this, very outdated interior, no effort there. Very stiff mattresses.
