The coffee at breakfast.

Great blend of traditional and modern architecture. The new pool and spa have enhanced the hotel. Beautiful grounds. Staff so friendly and helpful. A real treasure in the Douro Valley!
4.0
Great property. Food was not as good as what we expected and could be improved.
Food was not good. We had to leave dinner. We also made reservations at the restaurant and waited 40 minutes to sit down.

Average food and table wine.
4.5
Beautiful property, stunning views and very hospitable staff. I would strongly recommend.
The only thing I felt was odd was that there was no coffee in the room. I woke up at 7am one morning and the kitchen didn’t open till 8 either. Also, the bathroom door is clear glass. May be an issue if you’re a group of friends travelling together and someone needs to use the loo.

There were many things to do; the property is beautiful; and the service was amazing.

beautiful property but pricey.
nothing really

This is an exceptional 4 star hotel, with service aligned more with an experience you would expect to receive at a 5 star hotel. Facilities and property even better in real life compared to photographs - I was pleasantly surprised on arrival. Complimentary wine tasting was provided in the impressive new cellar space. Wines on property were fantastic, as was the restaurant. The pool area is beautiful, although closed while we were there as you would expect in the middle of winter, but one could imagine wiling away some relaxing hours there.
The bar, while a beautiful space with high ceilings, was very cold when we had lunch there.
4.5
great facilities, modern rooms are very nicely decorated, beautiful property and views
only one tip for when they next remodel: a bathroom door never needs to be all-glass! especially in twin rooms…
4.5
The picturesque vineyard made for a lovely stay and the restaurant was very good. We took long walks through the vineyard and saw olive harvesting which was interesting.
We would have preferred the new section of the hotel as our room looked tired and the carpet needs replacing...soiled spots. The wine tasting for guests was a bit chaotic with a very large group.

Facilities, location
Comparing to other hotels the treatment and amenities were not as exceptional

Gorgeous location, modern and up to date. Very nice restaurants on location and the wine tour and grounds were wonderful.

We were staying in 2 of the unique barrels in the grounds of the hotel, as a surprise treat for my Mother’s 80th Birthday! Property east to find, all the staff extremely attentive, polite & nothing was too much trouble! Two fabulous restaurants, á La Carte for dinner and the breakfast was out of this world! Gorgeous grounds, pool area and ambience on the whole site! There was even a wedding going to take place on the day we left!!
Nothing, just perfect!

We had a room in the barrel and it was a great experience. The room had a direct view to the pool and winery, with a nice terece just outside the room. In the morning we could relex on the sunbeds on the terrace and listen fado music in background. The entire area was beautiful and the personal friendly offered a wine tasting and a tour.
Everything was great

The property was amazing. We loved the tasting and dinner there.
4.5
The view from our barril to the wineries was simply amazing. The pool area was so beautiful that it was as if it came out of a movie. The staff was simply amazing and very welcoming.
Even though it is a winery hotel it allows small children. The pool area which could be very relaxing, peaceful and perfect to calm down from the city life becomes loud, agitated, messy and simply not pleasant with children playing around, throwing balls, screaming and doing “water bombs” into the pool, splashing water to the guests who are laying around, reading, having a drink or simply trying to relax and have a conversation. Unfortunately none of staff intervened, even though it was visible that most of the guests (mainly couples) were annoyed with all the disturbance.

Member of staff forgot to book our taxi for the train station when we left leading to a stressful few minutes - otherwise I couldn’t fault anything with our stay.
