Could have been better for the price

Facility was nice cleanliness

Pool closed at 9pm. Beach access closed at 9 as well. Didn't want to give more ice in cardboard bucket of beer even though it melted in the heat and the bucket tore from the ice melting. Unknown charge on my card at end of stay.

Overall my stay was good.

I think the breakfast option was limited for the price paid. I was unhappy with the quality of breakfast. Only ate one day. Needs improvement

The pool water could have been cleaner and the hot tube wasn’t hot at all. I also didn’t that there wasn’t any options for hotel entertainment live band maybe karaoke for the rainy days.

Such a beautiful experience and we will stay there again.

The property is steps away from the beach. Very clean and you always feel safe. The staff is incredible and you never have to wait long for anything.

We had momentary power losses several times throughout the stay but nothing to complain about. I wish the balcony was a little larger to be able to sit outside.

A good investment when you want to treat yourself right and have a convenient beach experience.

My room was spacious and the AC was on full blast which was great to combat the humidity whenever I stepped outside. There is a bar in the lobby a restaurant right outside and another that overlooks the beach. The breakfast buffet was tasty about $33. The swim up bar connected to the pool is also available. 10 minutes or less from the airport so very inexpensive uber. Wear your hotel bracelet everywhere, and use it to access a pool/beach towel. Very solo travel friendly, I absolutely loved hanging by the pool and some staff really make you feel welcome and cared for, I'd definitely return.

Anything I got wet took forever to dry or didn't dry at all. The hanging space is limited in the rooms. They really should invest in wall hooks around to hang stuff to dry. I also felt like the floor could have used a nice steam mopping. Water pressure is also low on the shower but that is a normal occurrence in the caribbean.

Great hotel with fantastic atmosphere

The property has a fantastic location it’s close to the airport, in walking distance to food, shopping and more! The hotel property is clean and has great amenities like a spa,gym and nail salon, with great food options! Alei and Ocean Breeze were my favorites. The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. This is a Beachfront hotel with access to water activities like jet ski parasailing and banana boat rides. Archie jet ski rental is the best and also Checkin/ checkout was easy! Great for families or couple get away.

Made great memories!

Beach was pristine, food was great and the pool was fantastic. The staff was so friendly and eager to help. I am disabled and cannot walk and every staff member from the pool attendants to the desk staff bent over backwards to help me in any way possible.

I can’t name anything that the hotel could have done better except maybe had a shower chair with arms on it.

Loved the location mins from the airport, the Hotel was a resort, beautiful pool beach and hot tub and exceptional in quality and luxury. Food proportions were Huge, but they offer a mini fridge and the to go option with reheating in the cafe if needed next day so no wastage. Pet friendly resort as well.

Our Room Toilet was full of used toilet paper on entering our room after we checked in. Lights in room difficult to locate in main bedroom area. Room was too cold, AC kept defaulting to 68F regardless of setting to 72F

Our stay at the Royal Sonesta was amazing. I love the umbrella service at the beach and the food at the beach restaurant was delicious. Will definitely be returning here!!

The breakfast service was very very slow. And I'm very patient with realistic expectations and it was still way too slow.

We had great weather fortunately and spent the majority of our time enjoying the beach.

The room was very nice, we loved the wrist band feature so we didn't have to carry any cash or a key with us. The beach area was very nice, great being able to have chairs and umbrellas set up for you. We did not use the pool.

The staff was friendly but certainly not overwhelmingly helpful. At check in, nothing was shared about the dining options, the beach process, pool hours, gym information - really nothing but given our key. For as much as we paid each night for our stay, I felt there should have been a few water bottles included in our room, a little more attention to the customer in terms of making us feel like they cared we were there at check in. When I went to ask the "tours" staff member a question, she was borderline rude and not at all helpful. The beach and beach restaurant staff were great as were the bellman out front helping us with taxis, directions, suggestions etc. I would have also thought there would have been more activities on site such as outdoors games (corn hole, chess, jenga etc.), and other resorts nearby had sunscreen available by the pool and beach which also would been a nice feature.

Good hotel, could be great with slight adjustments

Rooms were spacious for 2 people The breakfast was good, fresh with a nice selection Most staff were helpful and very polite Beach right at the back of the pool area, loved that! Pool area nice and large, sectioned also Loungers in pool Free loungers on the beach Hotel walking distance from restaurants and few shops The beds are very high and could be good or bad depending on your height.

Toilet kept blocking The patio door was stiff and difficult to open Bathroom door no lock and stiff Wardrobe door opens and has no stop, so damages handles The room is not really big enough for more than 2 people Pillows need more filing Sink area not practical, floods unit and spills onto floor One of our rooms had damage to the shower One day, they blocked off part of the communal sunbathing area and made us move as they had a private booking. Private bookings should be made in private areas. Not areas that all guests have access to. Private bookings should not be at the detriment of other guests

It was good for a few night stay, but not much entertainment or food options. The beach was gorgeous.

We liked the view from the balcony, although it was very small. We liked ocean breeze restaurant. The chicken fingers and pizza was very good. We loved the beach and its location.

We left the property each evening for dinner and to have entertainment. The pool closed very early at 9pm. There wasn’t much dinner or food options. If you are looking for any entertainment at all, this isn’t the place. The music can barely be heard on the speaker. Also, some of the property needs some updating.

Musty damp rooms, both my friends moved their rooms multiple times due to dampness. I wanted to keep my view so I didn’t move. AC was subpar, my clothes stayed damp. Hotel ran dehumidifiers in hallway, didn’t help.

Will not stay again

The property was clean and had friendly staff.

Their lobby/pool music is awful. My husband and I stayed at the Sonesta hotel for five days. We are both educated professionals, natives of Puerto Rico living in the United States. We were looking for a stay that would take us away from our daily work. The hotel pool area is beautiful but the music at the pool was the equivalent of the music you hear at your dentist office or at an elevator. Too relaxing. It never reminded me that I was on vacation or on a beautiful tropical island. I could see it on the other guests faces too,they were bored. In fact the choice of music they use at the pool and throughout the hotel reminded me of work instead of relaxing me and helping me forget work. They are in a Caribbean island with plenty of music to choose from but for whatever weird reason they choose the easy listening style. When I asked one of the managers, he told me that the music decision comes from way above himself and that they cannot change it. Also in the outside lobby on Thursdays and Friday they had live music but one day it was a duo singing 90s American songs and the other day Calypso. We are adults & we were not looking for a nightclub setting at the pool or lobby, but for the amount of money you are paying per night we were expecting a more tropical/happier setting. A place that I would not want to leave because I enjoyed the music and the ambient so much. In fact we barely had drinks at the bar because of the music. Overall I don’t think we’ll ever stay there again.

Good spot for a getaway.

The staff was very nice and welcoming. They were professional and had great suggestions for where to go and how to get around. The pool area is amazing! So very nice!

The television signal was bad and there were limited channels. The hotel overall is aging. Our housekeeper was kinda lazy. She made up one bed and splashed some bleach around in the shower. The lighting in the bathroom was dim. The air conditioning was hard to control. We spent a good portion of the night trying to get the temperature right.

Location

Very dead, on Saturday night the swim up bar closed at 6pm. There is no music on the facility. Very dead, no adult entertainment for 4 days $2500 I will never return.
