Breakfast.
No heating in bedroom, very dated room. Poor facilities. Lift didn’t work properly. Overall poor experience.
4.0
Central location good breakfast
Car park seems to get full very quickly due to day activity at the hotel groups of older people
4.5
The comfort in the room and size of the room. The bathroom was very decent and big.
Nothing in particular.
5.0
We had a ground floor room which suited us admirably. Spotlessly clean with plenty of space

Staff were pleasant, even though there were 2 coach parties I still got served quickly in the restaurant & bar. The food was good quality and tasty.
The cleanliness was not good, under the glass on the desk was dirty and stained ( this could be removed to clean!) around the taps in both sink and bath very grubby with a build up of limes ale and the carpets needed cleaning, lots of stains. I found a very dusty HDMI cable behind the television.
2.5
The Parking was good and the reception staff are welcoming. The morning staff serving breakfast were charming helpful and hard working.
The hotel is in need of some TLC. It clearly hasn't been maintained/decorated since 2000 as there is a distinct smell of stale cigarette smoke. The TV in the room we were allocated could not receive ITV 1 plus other channels and there was no hot water for washing in the morning as their boiler had broken.

Location was good, bed was comfortable, breakfast was good.
Decor was dated, no hot water on the 2nd morning. Spoke to reception but could not help.

B fast Ok.
Room-smaller than expected.
Bed-good but no bedside unit facility was unusual/poor.

Breakfast was great as were the staff
The bed was the most uncomfortable one I have stayed in…much to firm….my husband thought the same
4.5
For a single room it was very spacious, the bed was comfortable. I choose to eat in the restaurant for an evening meal, which was lovely, we recommend it.

Location
Breakfast
Old creaky dusty building
Needs full renovation to come up to a £86 per night hotel cleaner knocked on my door at 0830 asking what time I was leaving ?? Not good she then said I will leave the new bed change on your bed “do not put them on the floor” ??? Rendering my bed still being paid for until 1100
Un usable ?? Not hood at all

I am always welcomed. The staff have become like family as I go so often now.
Room was a bit small but fine for my needs as I came alone.

It needs a bit of attention, the property is old and could do with a bit of love
We were in room 228 and the door outside our room was very noisy and woke us both up at 6am and then again whenever anyone came through it so another about 20 times

Location
Extremely outdated. Old stained carpets.
Rooms along main road should maybe have aircon as it’s way too loud to keep windows open but very hot.
3.5
Central location, comfortable bed with good facilities. Nice coffee at breakfast. Peaceful hotel and good showers.
The room hadn’t been cleaned properly before I arrived. There was a fair bit of dust in places and still previous guests’ hairs stuck in the bath and on the walls, which was quite disgusting. The breakfast wasn’t great as the eggs were overdone. Was a shame there were no hash browns. Felt a bit overpriced unfortunately.

The windows to our room were old and single glazed and were situated right above the front entrance to the hotel ( Room 201 ). Our last night coincided with a local "Wake" this started mid afternoon finishing around 10:30 - 11:00 ish. It ended with quite rowdy and heated discussions right under our window sometimes involving a hotel steward. Later an ambulance was parked by the entrance to the hotel complete with flashing lights. Double glazed windows at the front of the hotel I'm sure should help reduce the noise quite a bit at least.
Non smokers it seems have been forgotten when it comes to access to outside areas. It was a lovely sunny afternoon and we were sat outside, as paying hotel guests our needs were forgotten once the wake began, we moved no less than 3 times to avoid breathing in peoples smoke. Why are nonsmokers at a disadvantage concerning the hotels outside spaces.
We were planning to have meal in the hotel that night but due to the atmosphere developing we vacated to "Wetherspoons" which as it turned out was far quieter. Is it possible my comments will be acted upon?
Regards Tony
