Location v good. Service was great-everyone friendly. Steep stairs up to top floor (was warned) but ok.
Shall return.

Really enjoyed our stay, only negative I have is that the door to the room was difficult to open, but that was because it was clear the room had been given a new comfortable carpet. Breakfast was great, lovely atmosphere

The hotel is in the heart of Carmarthen city centre with easy access to all the shops and restaurants. It's easy to drive to the neighbourhood beaches, gardens. We love the stays in the hotel. The waitresses are very friendly and helpful. The English breakfasts are wonderful.

Atypical traditional pub/hotel exactly as described old and quirky we loved our stay.

Our stay was very good. A few small issues like towel rail loose and drawer handle missing but good size room well equiped plenty if tea, coffee and milk. Great choice for breakfast and very reasonably priced to include breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Good position close to centre of town.

Travelled for a famiky funeral and we could not fault the hotel or it's staff at all.
Cheryl and Thomas went above and beyond to make us feel welcome

Ok for the money.

The room was a little 'tired' but generally OK. Unfortunately the heating in the rooms was not on so it was occasionally cool. The hotel did apologise once we had pointed this out to them.
The restaurant was good and the staff friendly. We would have liked prepared fruit for breakfast instead of a
limited selection of unprepared fruit.
Parking on site in a monitored car park was a real bonus.
The hotel is in a fantastic location for access to the town centre and the bus and rail stations. Could not have been better from that point of view.

Unable to stay due to storm Babette. Had to click on one to send a message. No rail access to Sheffield from Lincoln for two days

The only issue we had regarding our stay was that the Expedia booking confirmation stated a 1:00pm check-in time, yet at the property the check-in time is actually from 2:00pm, which did cause a bit of hassle on the day we arrived, as we had to get off to a wedding

Good Catering service, staff O.K. but outdated decor and bedrooms need attention.

Fire alarm system gone off at midnight no one knows what’s happening and where to go couldn’t sleep whole night

I enjoyed my stay but the second set of stairs were very steep. I was on my hands and knees going up they were so steep, this is a very old building. I am in my 80s so found this challenging. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless and modern. Everyone was helpful and polite. All in all a pleasant stay.

Had a very nice and cosy overnight stay. Nice breakfast, friendly staff, well-presented room with a very nice bathroom. Could perhaps do with an extra blind or window covering to keep more light out. Vegan as well as veggie options at breakfast would be good too.

Convenient position on the main street with bus stops at the front. Difficult small car park but ok for small car. Twin room off the carpark clean but needed tlc (sellotape holding shower rail together/no spare loo roll, one radiator cold, bathroom flooring peeling away. Recommend info of key/breakfast access/times in room. Staff friendly.

Room clean and comfortable. Window rattling due to wind and noisy location as taxi rank outside front of hotel. Tap in bathroom sink was loose..
David was a credit to the hotel and very friendly and helpful. Other staff not very polite and unhelpful and gave the impression they didnt want to be there.
Garlic bread i had with my starter was burnt although cooked breakfast was very nice.
Not sure if we will stay again.

The entrance to the car park is very tight and narrow. We have a large car so parked on the road. We received a frosty reception from the person behind the bar. We arrived at 8:45 to be told that they had stopped serving food but that there were plenty of places around serving food. This was not the case. The only place serving food was full and all takeaway restaurants were closed. We walked for at least 1/2 an hour trying to find somewhere. Our room was on the top of a very steep spiral staircase, the corridor was not lit and we couldn’t find a light switch. The room was ok but was at the front of the hotel and was very noisy all night. There was a large blood stain on the bath, and generally the room needed some TLC. We were concerned the next morning when we left our room and saw that the fire door was not closed properly and it didn’t look like a safe exit. Breakfast was absolutely fine and the staff were really nice but they were clearly understaffed.

The attitude of the landlady was dreadful – blunt, impatient, self-serving … think Basil from Fawlty Towers, but a lot less funny. The room was a ridiculous shape, the bathroom had no hooks or shelves, the shower was claustrophobic, and impossible to use without getting your hair wet, and there was noise on and off most nights. We had to get help to open the window. They advertise room service, but when we asked, they said they were “too busy”. Meals were just about adequate, although all ingredients except the meat were poor and tasteless. Only redeeming feature was an attentive young waiter at breakfast on the last day. Must have been his first day. This hotel makes much of its ‘centuries of history’, but fails miserably to do it justice.

No parking on arrival! Staff are very abrupt and unhappy! Bacon wasnt cooked at breakfast!!!
But i must say the 3 course meal we did have was excellent.

Staff were friendly and efficient. Room was in need of a freshening up, but very clean and tidy. Will be happy to stay again and recommend it to others. Breakfast was nice and check-out a breeze.

we only stayed one night, Lot of noise from the street and could not sleep properly. Night staff was very nice and helpful, but morning staff seem to be bit moody and at breakfast without clearing the table bring food to the table and expect us to clear the table. Entrance to the car park is very narrow I wouldn't return due to the narrow entrance.

On arrival, after confirming our pre-paid stay, the staff wished to take details of a credit card (not unusual), however the card details were written on a card, the card number, expiry day and SECURITY number, on explaining they should not be writing this down next to the card number, I was rebuffed. Though shown where our room was, no details of breakfast location or time, wifi details, or other courtesy details were provided. Breakfast and breakfast staff were very good.

Lovely hotel in the town centre. Old building, with plenty of charm. Food was excellent. So can’t complain. For the price of the room and breakfast it was more than reasonable.

Very good breakfast, Steep steps to the family room. Tight access to the car park. Charged extra for third adult even though we paid extra for the family room. Located on the main street. Lively bar area!
