- The style of the hotel is very much in your face, so it's you like it or you hate it type of scenario. We personally enjoyed the roman theme of it
- The pool area is nice
- The beds were comfy, the room was clean and spacious, no complains
- Service was good, all personnel were smiling when crossing path with us
- Next to a small shopping center and to the beach (need to cross a 2x2 road to access though)
- Wait time for breakfast was long, service wasn't great (they forgot about our coffee)
- the parking is a bit confusing to access and to park into
- it's located about 1h away from surfer's paradise, so it's a bit isolated from the city center
- no in house transfer offered to get to the city

It was a comfortable sleep and nice to be opposite the beach
This hotel does not live up to a 5 star expectation. The place is tired and the we were disappointed with the service. Clearly there is an objective to keep operating costs down and it really shows. Increasing staff may help. We waited too long for breakfast and coffee, no laundry service after 2pm, phone in the room which I used to call housekeeping was not answered and went to a voice message of the Versace hotel.

Pool cabana and surrounds. Gym was well kitted out. The room was spacious and included a spa. Plenty of hot water and a good shower. Breakfast was plentiful and great coffee. Very good selection.
Surprised there were no tooth brushes. Location was ok if you want quiet. Was surprised it was only 4 floors given the elevated photo of the hotel. Eggs Benedict where not good the first 2 days of our stay and improved a lot by a change of chef on our last day

The entrance is very pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast buffet which is included. Is one of the best breakfast buffets I've had. Great selection of food and quality of the food is great plus real coffee! The bed is very comfortable
The pillows are shocking and no pillows offered to swap, this did affect the quality of sleep. Too many heavy glass doors in the bathroom and they squeak and rub on the floor. Rooms are very out dated. Lamps you need to physically get out of bed to turn off, no PowerPoint near the bed to charge your phone. I think if they spent a bit of money of electrical to update a few things and have wireless phone charges it would be great. Pod machine instead of an old kettle too. A little bit roadhouse motel like for a "5 star hotel".
We were given the last room away from the lift which was an endless trek down numerous corridors to room which was very hard on my mother physically. I had told the hotel it was my mother's 70th birthday during our stay and they nicely left a slice of cake in the room but we were out all day and had no idea how long it was left there and was a rainbow cake with 100 &1000's on top. Very nice gesture but not appropriate choice of cake for 70 year old and may have been helpful to be notified since we were out of the room for a good 7 hours that day.
Sadly it was raining the whole time, so didn't get to experience the outdoor area which looked lovely through the windows. I don't think this place warrants the 5 star anymore as the rooms are outdated but if they upgrade a little to modernise it it could be warranted the 5 star. Staff were hit & miss. I am glad I finally got to stay at the old "Verscace Hotel" I wouldn't be in a rush to stay again though

Was run down mouldy tiles by the pool
Service wasn't the best quite rude took over 30minutes ro check us in then took over a week to return the room deposit

Everything was beautiful , service top notch and accommodating. The only thing is when we checked in, we missed out on our "welcome drinks". We had to go and park our car and when we came back to finalise the checking in process, this went amiss. No biggie, but thought it would have been nice to receive. All in al a great experience.
It was my husbands birthday and our wedding anniversary, which was mentioned when we made the booking. We received a lovely piece of birthday cake ; it would have been nice to receive some champagne to go with it. Just a thought. We did however receive a voucher for drinks at the bar.

Concierge guys were friendly and welcoming.
Other staff were robotic and not at all engaging.
The smell in the entire hotel was strange and horrible in our room. It was only after turning our air conditioner off during the night that we realised the smell reduced. It seems the horrid mould like smell was coming through the air conditioning.
Our room had a small verandah that was dirty and we were unable to leave the door open as ibis birds tried to come in.
The hallway to our room (149) was awkward to navigate as the signage was poor and no information was provided to us that it was quite a journey with many twists and turns.

Love the pool area. It's absolutely beautiful.
Room's are really outdated and they definitely need some renovation. Rooms are not worth the price.

The size of the pool ,
Where do I start , very outdated hotel , furniture ripped , dirty rooms , staff rude , not interested , should be a 3 star hotel
2.5 / 5.0
the breakfast and the staff
I had an allergic reaction which caused my eyes to swell up and barely see.
I ended up in Emergency. I was ok when I arrived and had stayed in the room all night and woke like this.
My husband and Daughter also slipped on the stairs on the bridge. I was advised by staff at Sheraton Grand Mirage who came to our aid to report the fall to the hotel. I reported the fall and the allergic reaction/hospital visit and not once did the hotel check on us or offer assistance.

We were in room Lagoon room 225 and the view over the pool area and complex was picture perfect during the day and breathtaking at night. The main entry - lobby area as you walk in with the added Xmas vibe and decorations was also very classy!
There isn't much I didn't like to be honest. It was my partners Birthday, and we received a voucher for two free drinks when checking in. When it came time to use the voucher the drinks were restricted to the cheaper variety, in turn we didn't use the voucher. It would have been my preference not to get one if i am being honest. I think maybe the the vouchers should cover a wider variety of drinks.

It was a lovely facility perhaps a little outdated.
It wasn’t worth the money in my book.

We only had time for the room and the buffet breakfast - not enough time to enjoy the remainder of the hotel. We were there for a work xmas function.
An earlier check in to allow time to use the pool and facilities

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so it was ideal to really enjoy the beautiful furnished rooms, pool and dining and lounge areas for 2 days. The food was excellent, beautiful dining settings. The staff were all really friendly and very attentive. The pool was really beautifully crystal clear. The room was extremely quiet - sound block curtains. And we were really impressed at our room service too. There was live musicians playing Saturday too. Everywhere you look has beautiful furnishing, lighting, flowers and mosaic and marble floors- loved it!Felt spoilt!

Great pool and really comfortable bed. Fantastic location
It’s run down, you can tell it was a glamorous place, however the sofa and the bed were falling apart. There is multiple marks on the walls.

Room was very clean and great lay out. Love that it was on the lagoon. Most staff were great but the staff member who checked me in wasn't giving me confidence but we got through that.
We pulled out the front of the hotel and even though other people were allowed to go through to the reception we were sent to the basement which felt wrong. We got into the basement but the directions he gave us were poor. It was an interesting introduction to the hotel and we feel the concierge could do a better job.

Our room had mould in it and it took a while for staff to finally move us out of our original room, for the price of the accommodation we weren’t happy with the stay.
