A nice place to stay while exploring the lovely are of Exmoor & the nearby coast.

Excellent food, especially in the restaurant.

Some confusion about accuracy of billing.. Due to the age of the building it often seemed very dark, especially in the restaurant.

Great location with great food and staff.

The breakfasts were AMAZING! The staff are all so friendly and just lovely. The food in the bar/restaurant was really good. We had such a great experience that I'd recommend this hotel to everyone that wanted a good base for North Devon and Exmoor National Park.

The beds were a bit hard for us, however you can't please everyone's personal mattress taste!

Quiet well-appointed hotel in a beautiful area

Contact with the staff beforehand was good. The room was well-equipped and quiet. Dinner had a good selection of familiar and unusual items on the menu. Breakfast was served in person at the table (i.e. no buffet) by the couple who own the hotel, Plenty of choice.

Ideal location to explore Exmoor National Park. Charming hotel. Thanks Peter to direct us (as 1st time visitors of Exmoor) to the best places. Excellent food in the bar and restaurant.

Well worth a visit

A fantastic country pub/hotel, comfortable rooms, great menu, wonderful staff. Highly recommended, hope to visit again

No issues at all, could do with more parking but that is a small price to pay for everything else!

Exceptional

We booked a four night stay and ended up being caught in storm Franklin! Hence no electricity after our first night. All the staff went out of their way to look after us with the limited resources they had.. We were offered a thermos of hot water to take to the room for morning hot drinks. The wood burning stoves provided heat, and somehow they managed to produce a full breakfast each morning. All the staff were informative and kept us up to date with the village being cut off due to fallen trees. An incredible team which means we will be going back again.

It was a shame about the weather, but the White Horse is not to blame for that.

Good Central Location for Exmoor

Bathroom had bath and shower as requested and was a good size, warm and plenty of hot water. For the price the room was a little small and the bed seemed very small for a double (maybe our fault as we are used to Kingsize at home!) Breakfast was good, excellent choice and lovely fruit salad.

Despite the Hotel being very quiet we were on the top floor next door to another couple and there was noise from their bathroom (shower?) The room was hot so we opened the window which meant there was some road noise too first thing. Bar Meal in the Evening was very poor quality.
