I payed a lot of money for a villa with a spa and a TV, neither of which worked. The restaurant had limited variety

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Doing their best with the situation.
Bathroom was dirty however this is because most buildings need significant repairs.
Very very limited food and drink options.
The fan in our room was soo loud we couldn’t have it on and no aircon.
Money needs to be invested into this place to make it beautiful again.
Paddle boards looked like they had been washed up on the beach.
The staff were very helpful and did what they could to make us feel comfortable.

Nothing. It was the worst travelling experience I have had after thirty years of travel.
Everything.
I was violently ill after drinking the water which I was told was “safe to drink” by the hotel manager. The water cane out if the kitchen tap dark brown.
Nothing was available at the below sub par restaurant. The first meal after a long flight available was a bowl of chips served to us begrudgingly. Then we were told that we had to be at dinner by 5.30 every night because thats when they closed.
We were left on the island completely alone every night which is highly dangerous, unprofessional and against all work and safety practices in the hotel industry.
The staff hated their jobs and we felt and guests as well.
The rooms were full if mosquitoes with no repellant supplied.
The beds had bed bugs.
The kettle gave you and electric shock when you touched it.
Coming home around 5.30-6pm we waited in the dark on the ferry wharf one night for nearly an hour despite calling several times for a ferry to collect us, eventually finding out that they were waiting for staff to finish their shift to get the boat across.
There were no lights on the ferry wharf, no lights on the dirty wet boats and nobody on the island.
Everything on the island was dirty, broken,
and smelt.
We had to endure workers on the island using a chainsaw to chop down trees every day well into the night as well as the generator and laundry noise day and night.
Filthy mangy cats roamed around jumping all over the eating tables and us.
The Post Box is filthy and not even worth swimming to. The reef is dead and nothing really to see at all.
You are unable to walk across to the main land anymore as it is always covered by water now so you have to endure endless wait times on the wharf to be dropped off or collected.
There was absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.
The place is a knockdown.

Excellent snorkeling location and boat service is quick and efficient if you need to go back and forth. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The island is very unique and relaxing. The shared bathrooms are ok. Rooms are beautiful with nice amenities. Dinner was excellent. Only 15 mins from the airport. Plenty of buses to/from Mele.
Breakfast needs improving. It was less than basic. No hot water showers. One of the shutters in my room needs attention.

Staff were fantastic and helpful. Snorkelling was fabulous.
Property is in need of investment. Rooms are very tired.

Great spot
There was a rat in our room so we couldn’t keep food. There was no basic cooking facilities. Bed very uncomfortable and it hasn’t been kept in good condition. They ran out of food all the time. Even straws. We would never stay here again. We stayed in 2015 and the place was great then but new management clearly don’t give a damn. The best thing about the place was the staff in the restaurant and bar and the snorkeling was great.

Stella in the office, and Kevin and Edwin in the dive shop were lovely and really helpful. The snorkelling was excellent, particularly the free snorkel safari. Our four days ended up being very relaxed and simple, once we understood how hard the recession has hit tourism.
Delightful local staff who made us a plunger of coffee and toast when I asked, and offered us lovely scrambled eggs too. 2br villa was very spacious - fabulous master bedroom but second bedroom was tiny with no opening window. The villa smelt of mildew so we kept all the bi-fold doors open (atmospheric but not possible to include fly screens), which meant we needed to use insect repellant for mosquitos. Restaurant prices were okay but the food wasn't as good as elsewhere.

Staff
Room was full of big rats, rat piss all through the room, spa didn’t work, private pool was full of algae so couldnt swim in it, all windows rusted shut, room stank, beds uncomfortable, all rooms need to be demolished and rebuilt, no hot water, I could go on but that will do for now

Staff beautiful. Location awesome - fabulous snorkelling out the front door. Good entertainment (kustom dancers, music nights).
Rooms are run down and need work, but private and not a crowded resort which is nice and quiet. Food very average. A lot of things on the menu not available. A second toaster for breakfast would go a long way!

Great location
Many maintenance issues eg no hot water

Housekeeping do the best job ever. Staff were all very friendly. Snorkelling was amazing. Coral not so great but variety and amount if fish fantastic. Food was ok too. Room was basic but not too bad for price.
Mostly the basic room. They need updating.

Nothing, it’s terrible. We stayed at other places in Vanuatu on this trip and none were this bad so they can’t just blame the cyclones or covid!
The rats running in our villa! The whole resort is so run-down, understaffed and dirty - rat nest visible in the kitchen and they’ve clearly been there a while. No hot water or pressure in showers - in both Villa and bungalow. Many missing light bulbs including whole rooms. Room missing tv/dvd as advertised. Had to ask 5 times for our wifi code that was part of our booking. Staff did not care (one laughed at the rats and said they won’t hurt us), or could not help. Often no staff at reception and lots of waiting around. Restaurant ran out of many options and long wait for any food. Snorkelling was no better than any other beach in Vanuatu and loads of day trippers took all tables. You can only snorkel in a small area. Post office doesn’t look like the photos and is dingy and grimy. I have videos and could write so much more. So disappointed.

The property has a good potential to grow. Nice views and snorkelling is very good.
The property needs a very good renovation. It looks old and tired looking. A very good renovation will get it up to the standards.

Lovely staff that go above and beyond. We stayed in the 1 bedroom ocean facing 200m2 apartment which had a deck and the spaciousness was fantastic. Aircon was great too. The reef out front is great to snorkel.
We booked specifically so our kids could do a Padi course but when we arrived were informed they would need to travel into town with another scuba place because they were no longer PADI affiliated. We were already certified so could dive there (and enjoyed the diving and the team there) but it was enough of a hassle that one of our kids decided not to get certified which was disappointing. Also the food isn’t great so you might want to consider self catering at least some of the time.

Friendly staff, got an upgrade to a private room instead of dorms. Food was delicous, breakfast was oke. Snorkel area in front of the resort was very chill. Nice location, resort on a seperate island. but there is a boat going continously and easy to take a bus to the city centre. Happy to stay here!
Not really, dive shop was not ready but should be now.

There was very little to like. The only positive was the boat ride to Mele Beach Bar where we were greeted and felt comfortable.
Everything. The island itself is so run down that it shouldn't be opened to tourists yet. There is hardly any sand, rather tonnes of washed up coral and BROKEN SHARDS OF BEER BOTTLES all over the beach! The staff working behind the scenes to clean the island up are lovely and always greeted us when they were busy raking or cleaning. The front line staff (Pauline) and bar staff were horrible. Never have I ever met such rude Islanders in my travels. They were not helpful and seemed angry all the time. Earing breakfast was like sitting in a cell, afraid to ask for anything because when I did ask for hot water to accompany the tea bag, was bitten of. Perhaps they could swap places with the landscapers because they clearly ddint want to be there? The room was bare and was minimal. My husband had to go around the bungalow and fix all the misquto shutters onto the house so we could open the windows. We also had to hunt down a kettle as there wasn't one in the room. Hot water shower taps were barely hanging on and didn't spit out hot water. We had to boil hot water and mix it in a jug with cold water to bathe my kid - I didn't fancy throwing him in cold showers. The only swimming pool was so dirty, they only picked the leaves out and left the debris at the bottom. Nobody ever cleaned it while we were there, the water was murky and expected people to swim in it - which some did. The photos they've got listed are perhaps pretty covid and are not a reflection of the "resort" itself. A serious staff overhaul is needed.

It was an enjoyable weekend, free kayaking, nice pool, free breakfast, nice food at an affordable price and nice ocean view from our room. Nice customer services especially from the bar and the gift shop. We enjoyed the snorkeling to the underwater post office and the reefs. The lady bar tender was really friendly and briefed us all throughout our stay.
The sad thing is we had to ask questions to the bar tender to brief us a little about all the activities. Well, the reception should be able to brief the guests, during check ins in order to avoid any types of confusions. And it was not really quiet in the morning.

Wonderful staff made us feel very special. We had a fabulous time and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all the staff and other guests. Loved the snorkelling and riding the ferry boat (great that it is available 24/7).
A suggestion for when things get back to normal. If you reduced the price of your menu (including drinks) by 25% I believe you would sell 50% more. Most travellers don’t mind paying 20% more than locals for a ride in a minibus but the all do mind paying 120% more.
