Friendly staff, quality food and nice rooms

Average stay - not as nice as advertised on the website.

Location was fine for what I wanted it for.

Toilet was unclean - we had to get staff to clean it. They did offer some money off our dinner due to this - which was nice.

Excellent breakfast even though the service was very slow on Saturday and Sunday

Shower wasn't fully operational . Reported it on Friday on arrival but not looked at till Saturday night when he remembered. Wasn't able to fix it. The beer garden wasn't very well kept. Bin in he garden was left overflowing for 2 days. Tables very dirty . No storage in bedroom. No wardrobe or drawers.

even with the problems, I would still prefer to stay at the Colney Fox, than using a premier inn

Relaxing stay, Cosy, clean, and good food.

This is close to where I work and the place itself is what I call "cosy". Of an evening I relax and chill. The rooms are always clean and should on the rare occasion something not be to my liking, I can simply ask the staff. The turnaround if very quick. Good sized rooms (double room), good sized bathroom. Evening meal and breakfast are good.

On this occasion - everything met my expectation.

Disappointing

Overpriced, stayed in single room, very small bathroom. Carpets dirty, walls in corridors dirty, doors dirty, the place is generally shabby yet they are charging premium rates.would not return

Lovely room, total bargain

Clean, comfy, good size and free parking. The room was the perfect base for us when we attended a wedding in saint Albans this weekend

Convenient location, great staff, good value.

The pub was well set out with the bar and restaurant, staff were very friendly and helpful, dinner was good after a long wait freshly cooked hot and tasty, convenient location for where we were visiting relatives, individual rooms with character, clean and tidy with a nice bathroom.

The bed was too hard, there was no flexibility and made for a sleepless night, the window only opened slightly and as very hot it did not help as too uncomfortable, we should be able to have a choice as adults to be trusted with an open window. We had a table booked for dinner and when the server took our drink order we were informed that as a large party had just arrived for a buffet our food would not start to be cooked for 25-30 minutes, it arrived about 40 mins later and we ate later than we would have liked, as we had pre booked we should have been catered for at the time we arrived.

Breakfast was poor. Lack of choices, no toast, fresh fruit or yoghurts like you normally get in hotels or b & bs. The cooked breakfast was disappointing. Although the room was pretty clean, the carpet was dirty. The communal areas need a good deep clean

You could come and go as you please and

It was nice and quiet. The staff were welcoming and so polite.

There was a small fan in the room. It could had been dusted as it was so thick with dust and I had to dust it and clean it myself.

Expensive for a pub

Good selection of draught lagers. Room was clean and free shower gel etc.

The bed was so hard, never slept in such a hard bed. I like a hard bed but this was nuts,, food was limited and very expensive.
