The hotel was amazing - relaxing vibe, calmness, amazing pool. Staff was really friendly. We would stay there again! :)
The location is not for everyone. It is located in the forest, up in the steep hill. We were travelling with a group of friends (all around 30 y.o.) the walk up to the hotel was a nice workout, but we did not enjoy the dusty road. Overall, we would stay in the hotel again as the location is close by the street food (main road) and a nice beach spot. We have seen some nice birds / monkeys close by the hotel.
Dusty roads, steep hill. You need to be a good driver to drive up the hill and park your car.

Beautiful place
A bit far from the town and located on a difficult hill. Power also went out for most of our stay

We loved staying here. The hotel is up the hill from the beach but it is walkable otherwise a 4x4 is needed. Once you arrive at the hotel you are in your own haven with a pool, jacuzzi and day beds to help you relax. The rooms are lovely with a hanging double bed and then two single beds in the loft accessible by a bamboo ladder. Joel went out of his way to be helpful and organised a whale watching and snorkelling my trip for us which was one of our highlights of our trip. Would definitely recommend.

The pictures of the stay look really great but this place really needs an good update and cleaning. Staff did their best helping us but a reception that closes at 15:00 hours is not really helpful.

It was located at a very nice spot and very well maintained. The interior and exterior was tastefully designed and gave a luxury feel. It was great to return after a hot day and cool off in the swimming pool or enjoy the hot tub. The service of the staff was adequate and prompt.
The kitchen utensils were a bit poor compared to the rest of the interior. But this was only a minor point of improvement. The road towards the appartement can be a little challenging but that’s part of the adventure.

The room
Was wonderful

There was no breakfast, no blankets in the room , I asked for more from 2 numbers and emailed since there were only sheets in the room and got no answer. Reception was usually closed.

We loved everything. A boutique hotel on the side of the mountain in the forest. Getting up in the morning into the forest and the birds chirping. The rooms are amazingly designed, spacious and beautiful. Comfortable beds and a special shower. A fully equipped and useful kitchen and we loved the balcony with a swing bed hanging from the ceiling. The hotel has a great pool and a large jacuzzi. The staff helped with everything.
The only thing that bothered me a bit is that the road to the hotel is a dirt road with a serious ascent.

Its a really chill house. The vibe was pure pura vida. Room was clean , the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed our stay. Would return for sure!

the personnel is really nice. - ready to help if needed.
the chill house is nice and rooms have lot of spaces.
common spaces are also really big, with 1 pool and one hot tub, although we stayed mainly in our space or at the sea.
the street where the house is located is made of sand and it is basically always dusted around.
it is not their fault of course, I hope one day the government will make a real street there.
the house though, could fix the “problem” of the parking: is the same situation there and the access to it is not good

This place lives up to its name - it’s super chilled! It’s a lovely, quiet place to relax away from the busy road. The room was lovely, with loads of space and jungle surrounding us. A green oasis! The staff were friendly were helpful too.
The drains smelled a little but can’t be helped!

Shabby chic place with a nice jungle vibe and a special charm, in its own way. The place has only few rooms, so it is intimate and secluded. All our stay was completely "self-service", as we never met anyone of the staff for the 2 nights we were there. All in all, good price per value.
Parking is not ideal, so when the place is full is almost impossible to park without blocking somebody else's car. Overall, the entire place would really benefit from a makeover and a general clean up.

nice to be surrounded by nature and good location - bear in mind a 10min walk up a very steep hill so only good if you don’t mind this
Unfortunately our room smelt really bad - we flagged with staff and they said it could be the gas in the room so disconnected it but that didn’t work.
The bedding and mosquito net smelt so fusty as did all the curtains which properly haven’t been changed since it opened.
Our door didn’t close properly so hot air was meeting cold in the room and creating condensation and adding to fustiness.
Pool was not clean and no filter it seemed so didn’t fancy going in it.
The room and facilities felt so unloved, really need some updating.

The layout of the loft
pool and common areas were not clean nor the bedroom and bathroom

size of the property
Property needed some maintenance done, small items that would make a big difference and keep it fresh. there were a lot of little things that built up that pulled away at the charm of the property. such as difficult parking, which we knew going in, but then no one at the front desk to ask questions, okay, then we turn on the fan and the chain breaks, pushed the bathroom faucet on and it wouldn’t shut off, the toilet was suppose to have 2 buttons on the top to flush it with and one was missing so used the one that was there but it stuck and you had to open the top to reset the plunger….then it had mosquito netting around the bed for you to let down, so we did but then it would get hung up in the fan that you couldn’t turn off because the chain was broken so you were jumping around trying to straighten everything so it didn’t cause more issues!

Spacious and stylish room. Lovely pool.
Facilities in room a bit lacking. AC leaking water, ceiling fan not effective at all, lights went off during one of our 3 nights but back on after a few minutes but worst of all, no water in any of the taps before our check out - we couldnt shower or use the bathroom just before leaving which is quite disappointing.

This place is beautiful! Boho style at its best!
Room smelled a bit of mildew—tis the end of rainy season and the road up is tough with potholes so be prepared

It was a good sized room, set back from the busy main road and surrounded by jungle. Good location to get to the beach
General cleanliness was fine but the room could have done with a deep clean. The room didn’t feel very private as the curtains didn’t cover the windows. There was a steep hill to access the property which meant that there were cars revving to get up at all times of day and night

The room and private outside space were beautiful and very chill. The window in front of the bed and the shower made it feel like you were almost outside. Kitchen was well equipped. Smart detail of having a sealed off container for food scraps to avoid attracting ants/bugs.
The swing bed outside was amazing for reading books, chill pool and hot tub.
We knew it was located up the hill and that’s great to be away from the busy-ness on the Main Street, but because we stayed during rainy season it was very muddy. We sometimes chose to leave the car and go to the centre for dinner with some drinks, getting back would be a little adventurous. Not the worst but good to keep in mind that during rainy season it’s not only a walk uphill but also through some mud
7.0
the fact that it was in the jungle and a very relaxing atmosphere
it wasn’t very clean. old bathroom and kitchen. on top of a hill with a lot of garbage on the site of the road.

Canaima Chill House is the perfect little boutique hotel for a couple or family. We had a wonderful time. The kitchen is of good use and well equipped.

Beautiful little space in the jungle a little abroad the main street of santa teresa. it is really a place where there it is more quiet. Surrounding and design is beautiful and the rooms are very big I feel. The vibe of this place is amazing and really "chilly"
Be cautious in rain season the street up to canaima house is VERY slippery when it rains! If you travel by car, you need a 4x4.
In the room where some things broken (curtains falling down or windows not installed correctly)

The entire place is lovely - the suites, pool and hot tub. A relaxing place to stay away from the main road. Hotel provided lots of information on local activities. Facilities and rooms were clean.
Just be aware you will need a 4x4 to get up the hill unless you don't mind walking. Only a 10 minute walk but very muddy after rain. We hired an ATV and loved it - useful for getting around the wider area also.

stylish, tidy rooms

The design of the chill house is very cool. The rooms are spacious, with decent sized comfy beds, mozzy nets and a hanging bamboo bed on the outside section. We slept really well - not sure whether the people who complained about hearing cars/ATVs all night were sleeping outside, but inside your room with the door closed, you cant hear them. Loved the big window behind the bed. The pool area is lovely (although in shade), very relaxing. It's a short walk to loads of restaurants and bars.
We might have been the first to manage it, but we somehow got up the hill with a regular car! The hill is steep, and in dry season, lots of loose rocks. I'd recommend a more suitable vehicle.
Joel was friendly, although he let us know there were two bottles of water in the fridge (you can't drink from the tap) but they seemed to have gone missing...
Also, reception is supposed to be open from 7am. We needed to check out at 7.15 to catch a tour, but he was not there. His communication could be improved - messaging the place before was not very successful either.

Loved the pool, the room, the shower! What a cool place. Once you get over the steepness of the driveway, it's awesome.

Our room was spacious and just as pretty as shown in the pictures. The bed was comfortable, and we were glad to have an air conditioner in our room. We enjoyed swimming in the picturesque little pool in the courtyard, surrounded by tropical trees and plants. The receptionist was very friendly and helped organize a tour to Tortuga island for us.
To get to this accomodation coming from the main road, you have to drive up a steep hill on a bumpy dirt road. Accessing the parking and getting out of it requires careful maneuvering with a 4x4 vehicle. Also, it should be mentioned that the sound of roaring cars may disturb your sleep, so bring earplugs.

The Eco Chic Hotel Canaima Chill House was booked quickly, as there were not a lot of options left, save for crowded hostels and dormitories. It was slightly out of my price range, but occasionally, I like to splurge. I have spent enough time in this country convincing people I am not rich... I might as well second guess myself from time to time.
It was eco.
It was chill.
And it was definitely chic.
WOW!
There was NOTHING wrong with this place. In fact, had I been blessed with a more affluent and luxurious lifestyle, I might consider staying here for a year... or more. It was my own personal Eden for the evening.
My spacious, boutique suite could have accommodated 4-5 people, but I had the entire place to myself and I properly planned to use every single second of it.
The room had a Sleeping Beauty bed, with full netting and grand windows where my head lie, giving a magical good morning view out into the garden, when I awoke. Even the shower had a jungle view... built right into the backside of the lush labyrinth.
The gardens were tended to and cared for, but not pristine. They were symbolic of a 'chill' expression and mirrored that of the surrounding tropical entanglement. Wild. Lush.
In the middle of my own private rainforest oasis, was a small pool, no bigger than that of a backyard plunge pool. After a refreshing dip, I climbed into the hammock chair that hung above the water, and relaxed, in pure harmony with nature, and enjoyed a glass of white wine. The colourful birds were chirping all around and the howler monkeys were making their eerie calls.
The patio not only had a full bar table, with open windows into the kitchen area, but also a full glass table set, a hammock and a bamboo swinging bed. I lied there for at least two hours, dripping wet from the pool, and rocking back & forth, back & forth... back & forth. It was so soothing, I forgot to drink my wine!
