This was a perfect place for me. It's quiet and centrally located, and the bed was comfortable and the towels were high quality. I was able to hang my clothes in a small wardrobe.
Check-in was easy with a code, and the friendly staff was readily available if needed.
The only negative is something that the management can't control. There was a bad smell in the bathroom the first day, but I think it was from the plumbing or outside, as the bathroom was clean. The smell was better the second day and afterwards.

The location, within the walls was superb. It only provided beverages….do it yourself. It is very near a delightful , small piazza nearby with a delightfully , family run cafe. It is NOT a bed and breakfast.
Mirko the owner/ manager is delightful and very helpful.
I you don’t catch him in person and he is there every morning, he is very responsive to texts.
Do not expect a place with all modern conveniences . It is a medieval building. However the bathrooms are modern.
The only problem I encountered was that my second week was unseasonably cool but it straddled the time when all indoor heating is to be turned off in Italy. After a couple of days Mirko broke the rules and started heating again, thankfully.

Goed gelegen om dingen te bezoeken en niet te ver van een gratis parking. Self-check-in want de gastheer was een niet.
Kleine kamer en badkamer en wat donker. We hebben de gastheer geen enkele keer gezien.

I booked La Colonna for my elderly parents, who stayed for four nights. They had a fantastic time and were very impressed with the room, the location and host Mirko's excellent service. We are very glad that we chose La Colonna, Mirko made everything very easy. Would definitely use again, thank you :)
Nothing, it was exactly as hoped for.

Ingen ting!

La Colonna is in an excellent location inside Lucca's city walls close to Piazza Anfiteatro and the main attractions in the old city. Very cozy and comfortable and my room had a garden view and well appointed en suite shower room. The host, Mirko, is delightful and happy to help with any questions.
Ideally, I would have liked fresh coffee and/or a minimal breakfast available in the mornings, but cafes are fairly close at hand.

Fantastic location in the Old Town, clean, comfortable, and convenient for the main train station (10 minutes walk). The most amiable and helpful of hosts (Mirko). Great value too.
No issues to report.

Lovely hotel in an excellent location inside the city walls. Mirko (the owner) is really helpful and friendly.
Being an old historic church noises within the building tend to travel (despite Mirko's best efforts with signs around the hotel asking for quiet during certain times of day) so if you are a light sleeper this may disturb you.

Mirlo was a terrific host, very helpful local suggestions. He added much warmth to our stay in Lucca. La Colonna is very centrally located and short walk from the train station.
if you need a safe and we’ll located place to sleep, this is a very good value.

Location brilliant. Mirko excellent host. Interesting old (500 years) pillars incorporated into building.
The cups provided for hot drinks were very flimsy at the time of our visit.

The host was very friendly and offered advice on things to do and see. The shower was the biggest I’ve ever had in Italy and was great after a long day walking around. Great location in Lucca near the Center and train station.
1 more extra pillow as there were 2 of us.

Great location in the heart of the walled town.
Owner / Manager was very helpful.
Our room was on the ground floor and was easily accessed via a short corridor. This may be appealing to older visitors or people with limited mobility.
Access was easy with a press button code to the outer door and a key to our room.
Given the fact that the building is very old and that there are certain expectations that go with this we thought that the room was a little ‘musty’.
There was No aircon. But there was the ability to have the window open as there was a good ‘flyscreen’ and ceiling fan in place.
We were quite disappointed with some of the detailing of the room service such as no hand soap at the bathroom basin which had obviously not been checked and a sewerage smell from the basin sink when running water. We managed to stop this aroma by keeping the plug in place. The wardrobe was old and musty and therefore we decided to live from our cases.

This is a very nice, cosy, guest house. Very good location in the historic centre and easy to get to being just a 100m from the LAM Red Bus stop which runs to/from the station. The facilities are simple but well decorated clean and more importantly sufficient for this type of accommodation i.e. inside a medieval walled city.
The owner Mirko is extremely friendly and on hand/on site every day in the morning to give advice on all matters, which all led to a very pleasant and enjoyable stay.
Not Applicable. Nothing not to like for what was advertised.

Mirko was an amazing enthusiastic host and provided us with very helpful tips in and around Lucca. Our room was tidied every day, which was very much appreciated. Located super close to city center. We felt very welcome and at home.
Room is a bit small, but for a couple it is more than enough!

The room was a little small but overall we adapted.
