shower was lovely, staff were very helpful. It is a little tired but more than made up for by the helpful staff and the location. The food downstairs was very nice.
Would be nice if kitchen offered half portions or allowed adults to order from the children's meal.

the staff were fantastic and helpful, the room and bathroom were clean and warm and inviting and the location was fantastic, especially with the easter festival on right outside
The bed in my room (306) had broken springs, one side was very comfortable but the otherside had a huge dip in it that made it very uncomfortable to sleep on, I even fell off at one point

Location excellent, love the old historic hotel, we had one of the larger rooms, it was excellent but one needs to awrae it is refurbished historical old and there must be some compromises
The shower was small and water presure and so temperature varied, quite acceptable but should be better

Venue Central to the Festival, markets, parks and gardens and all of the fun

Love the old charm, such a beautiful building and location was perfect for us, as we had a event at Ulumbarra theatre.
The tap water was a brownish color. But other than that was a beautiful stay.

Loved the building and old furniture. Bar on the corner had a lovely feel to it.
Bed mattress was a bit old. Public bar could do with a renno.

The ambience was fantastic. I loved that so much of the historical character of the hotel has been maintained, and that the room was so modern and comfortable. Loved the bathroom. Loved the location.
There is nothing I could complain about. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming.

The Shamrock is an amazing old building, perfectly located for exploring Bendigo
Without doubt, the check in experience and subsequent dealings with management were the worst I've had in 40 years of travel and staying in hotels all over the world. The rudeness and unhelpfulness in correcting mistakes of their making (we were given a windowless room on the street that in no way met the description of the room we had booked) were compounded by them blaming us and Booking.com, and overcharging us by hundreds of dollars. Their continued responses were 'not our business' 'don't care' and 'blame Booking.com'. Luckily I cc'd my letter of complaint to Shamrock management to their Melbourne based management company, who were apologetic and facilitated a refund. To date, The Shamrock has not responded to this letter.

The location was great. The room was very big and perfect for a family of 4.
It was good to have the option to eat at the venue, which we did. It was easy to go in and out of the building at any hour.
We were in a family room and we could hear everything from the social rooms downstairs. The music and people were loud until quite late and this effected our sleep. I read reviews and none of them mentioned this.
It would have been good also to have a fan or air freshener in the bathroom, considering that it was small and attached to the room. There was no way of venting any smell.
Also on arrival we were waiting 20 minutes before being served as the 2 admin ladies were working off one computer with the customer before us. They were friendly but it was too long of a wait.

Because of the woeful response by restaurant staff for dinner the first night did not give the restaurant any business. At 7.45pm there were 10 people in the restaurant and they said they were fully booked which was errant nonsense
Response of staff - attitude clearly could not be bothered. Also car parking arrangements are a complete Staff could be more helpful with assistance but made to feel like we were interrupting.

The bed was way too soft, sagged in the middle still comfortable,

great location, good meal in the restaurant , great service
the room was facing the main road and with no double glazed windows it was quite noisy

Clean and tidy, comfortable and friendly staff. Very central.
