Beautiful building
The noise from the road
4.1
Very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was fabulous. Would stay again.
A little noisy as we were next to the main road, otherwise everything was perfect.
4.1
Superb breakfast !! Really clean. Super comfortable beds. Friendly staff.
Shower was functional, but would have been nice to have been a bit more invigorating!
4.1
Very comfortable room & breakfast was amazing.
Nothing.

The room was a very good size. Liked the added touches games tin, lots of different drink sachets to choose from in our room, shoe shine and sewing kit to use in the room. Lots of different fruit and cereals on offer at breakfast including nuts and seeds. Complimentary shower gel and hand wash nice quality.
Even though we had the address and post code it was hard to find the car park. When we did ask it was a good size.

Breakfast was very good with a large choice from continental to porridge and full English. Very good staff on duty at this time. Due to temporary staffing problems for breakfasts at weekends a refund was made for the missed meal but a “takeaway” was given free which was a nice touch. Location was very central with an easy walk to the main square and the railway station a short distance away.
The bathroom. The literature states “Private External Bathroom with Shower”. It’s not private as it is unlocked and available to the other two rooms on that floor. It can be secured from the inside when in use but it’s not convenient to keep collecting your toiletries bag each visit. A simple solution I believe would be to make use of the lock on the door and put the key on the room bunch, then it could be secured and would indeed be a “Private” bathroom.
The postcode listed which I expect most people would enter into their satnav covers a large area, the centre of which is accessed by very narrow streets, annoying when it’s quite some distance from where you actually want to be. Putting the address in the satnav will give you a much better chance of finding it. The car park is very small and it’s easy to get blocked in.

Room was excellent, staff very curtious professional. Breakfast excellent. Stayed here 21 years ago under different owners and the experience was fantastic on both occasions

Easy to walk into town for dinner.
Room at rear so quiet
Perhaps a brochure with town map in room.
When I asked about dinner restaurant only a mutter about 2Brothers? Not how to find it
Parking not easy. Finding the place with no satnav not easy. 3 locals gave me different instructions.
Knaresborough full of litter. Disappointing

Cici, Raphael and the rest of the team were so welcoming, helpful and attentive. The hotel was situated in a perfect location not far from the centre of town. The room was clean, comfortable and deceptively spacious for a single. It was also really good value for money for the service that I received. The Portuguese omelette, along with with mini pastries and fruit was the best breakfast I've had at a hotel hands down. I felt totally at ease and at home there, which is why I feel that this is a little gem of a place in the gorgeous market town of Knaresborough. I was so enamoured by the stunning beauty of the area that I might just move there.
I forgot to report that a lightbulb had gone out in the bathroom to the owners. Cici and Raphael if you're reading this, room 3 needs a replacement. It didn't bother me one bit though, as I used the shaving light instead which worked perfectly.

We were welcomed by Cici, who made sure we had everything we needed and let us know the process for booking breakfast, which was delicious! The room was extremely comfortable with a private spacious bathroom just across the corridor. We opted for this room as we had stayed at Newton House before. It's in a great location, not far from the shops and pubs. It's only a short walk to the castle and down to the river. Overall, we had a lovely weekend at Knaresborough.
Nothing.
