We got upgraded to the garden suite. Very nice big room with small kitchen counter, big bathroom and a lovely big bed.
You know you can expect some noise if the hotel provides earplugs. There are some bars around and in the weekend that can be a bit noisy. We were there in winter but can imagine over summer it will be rowdy on the street which does not provide a comfy sleep.

The downstairs koungeroom is a charming and ntimate space and provides a refuge and a great spot for a glass of wine or to meet before heading out. Love all the books. I also loved the verandah- good spot for breakfast. Dressing gowns were handy too.
No hanging space.. Could fit 1 item only. Bed a bit too soft.

Large room and bathroom with shower and bath. Great shower and plenty of hot water to fill the tub on a chilly evening. Comfortable bed. Some street noise early am but this didnt bother us ear plugs were supplied. Central position for shopping and eating. Lovley staff and room serviced thoroughly each day. We woild definitley stay again. We stayed in the Petite Building.

The hotel is perfectly set in the town close to everything. Parking easy and easy walking distance to all the wineries.
We had a garden room which was easy to access from the car park and flat to walk our bags to the room. The room was beautifully decorated and a big bathroom with bath and shower.
They had a small kitchenette suitable for making coffee and tea in the morning.
The hotel staff were very accomodation and made us feel special. From an accomodation perspective a lovely touch of luxury.
The hotel was a treat to stay in from an accomodation perspective. The things we would have liked are small additions that would add to the experience rather than not like.
As we had booked the garden view, and it was a lovely big garden, we would have liked to sit outside our room to enjoy the garden but there was no seating outside the room that we could enjoy. There was some heavy big bench and table seating close to the main restaurant, which did the job but we would have liked it closer to our room and to be similar to the ones up on the top terrace.
I needed to do work, and had forgotten to enquire before hand re a desk. The staff were super kind and found a chair that I could use with the small table that was in the room.
Privacy was an issue in the morning as our room was right on the main walk way, right beside the hotel laundry. From early in the morning we had people walking past our room so we couldn't have the curtains open until fully up and dressed. All small things.
The only major gripe with the place was the food in the restaurant on a Monday night. We had been told it was a great restaurant and the chef had a michelin star rating. Admittedly it was a Monday night so the main chef could have been off. The food was awful. The whitebait special entree was such a disappointment. Avoid if you love whitebait. The food got worse. The salad was limp and left a puddle of water in the bottom. The fish and chips were barely edible, thin and mostly batter with sub par chips. Maybe we picked the wrong night and ordered the wrong things. We choose not to eat there again and went across the road to a fantastic funky restaurant that gave a great experience and good food.

location
It’s just average, totally not worth the price! they charge as much as the Hilton but have no service to back it up. the rooms were tiny and not clean, we spilt water on the floor and when we wiped it the cloth was black. The bathroom was in a closet next to the bed. No one was there to check us in, we had to wait at least 20 minutes. Terrible experience for the price, there are much better properties around.

Very friendly staff on reception, the fantastic location in the Centre of town, immaculately clean, comfortable room with top quality NZ blanket, products in bathroom & mini bar. Great to have an outdoor area with seating off our room.
The only thing I didn’t like was the shower curtain in the over bath shower … space was so small it stuck to you.

What an awesome little town with a fantastic hotel.

The hotel is centrally located with the room overlooking the square with a large balcony. The bathroom was modern and the furnishings were very good.We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food was outstanding. Great wine list, with wine available by the glass. Easy to walk around Martinborough from the hotel. The staff both at reception and at the restaurant were outstanding, friendly and helpful.
Nothing.

The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. Loved the sofa in the room and was able to watch TV from there and in bed if I wished. The decor was beautiful and the paintings/prints in the room were lovely. the shampoo etc was beautiful and the towels were thick and fluffy. I particularly liked the idea of the outside space with chairs and a table which was private albeit very tiny.
There is a private car park which is fairly well lit.
I couldn't switch off all the lights from my side of the bed. The water flooded out of the shower area up to the toilet and the bath mat I had lain on the floor was soaking wet so didn't serve its purpose of drying the soles of my feet to prevent me slipping on the tiled floor. The fresh flowers mentioned in the room description were non existent.
There is no room service, and after 18.30 there is no one on reception.
The restaurant is not part of the hotel or so I was informed by staff from the restaurant.

The old world charm of the hotel, the décor and where it was situated.
No locks on the doors to the balcony and a wee bit noisy with no double glazing

We got an early check in which was really kind of them. They also provided really great tips on what to do in the area.

Comfortable beds and fabulous bathtub. We ate all our meals at the hotel even though there were plenty of cafes...we liked the atmosphere and food. G and T's on our room balcony !
The sound of walking on wooden floorboards may disturb some people.....but that is the nuances of that era architecture. We found it charming and atmospheric. So not a negative for us.
