had some character
room had water marks in room from a flood above, shower water pressure dismal. large generator like machine outside window ran intermittently all night keep us awake. Lights flickered, could be a result of the flood as water marks in bathroom and bedroom. bathroom was freezing and black mould on window

Room quite comfortable and clean
Staff appeared disinterested. No pizzas available for

Ideal location for a wedding
The noise of the kitchen fan. It did eventually turn off in the late evening

Never had breakfast only two evening meals.
Was very disappointed with the room, very small and cold. The noise coming from the fans as the room was at the back of the hotel above the kitchen made it almost impossible to sleep. The electric power points were under the tiny bedside shelves meant getting on your knees to use them.Had no choice as to what room was offered when booked.

good location & grounds. very peaceful, therefore good nights sleep. under a mile walk to bars & restaurants on Broomhill which was handy whilst visiting our daughter at Uni
Needs some investment & updating. Obviously very short staffed, in morning no one came to serve us although 3 members of staff talking at other end of bar, so decided to go elsewhere for breakfast. Tables outside not cleared of food, glasses & condiments from night before. chairs not tidied & scattered everywhere. Could do with some attention to details!!

it was quiet, room was very spacious and clean, breakfast was fab, perfect location to get into the centre and still be far enough away that it was loud outside or busy roads, great outdoor seating area.

We ate Saturday evening and Sunday lunchtime. Both meals were very good. Sunday lunch was excellent!
We had a room on the second floor and there is no lift so a little difficult with luggage. We were in room 9 which was quite spacious and well appointed. The bed was quite hard and the Robert’s radio that appeared in the pictures was missing. When we questioned this we were told that it must have been stolen!
The bathroom was very clean and the towels were beautifully clean and fluffy. The shower was very small however. A large person would really struggle.

Lovely location. The room we had was spacious and warm. The telly worked. Good service tray and coffee machine as well. Hairdryer, robes and toiletries provided. Dinner was superb. Good choice for breakfast. Staff all very friendly. Had a very peaceful night sleep.
Room could of had a dressing table with mirror to make it easier getting ready.

beautiful old mansion with pleasant gardens, convenient restaurant and bar, good location to access west of sheffield, Peak District and the Derbyshire. Staff friendly and cheerful. we ate twice in the restaurant, there was a good variety of choice on the menu and the food was good value. We appreciated the Nespresso machine in the room.
room was dark, located at the rear of the hotel and close the the kitchen ventilation. bathroom was very small. Recommend not to take room 2. Continental breakfast included in the price was very basic and even so something seemed to be missing each day. The room was not made up after the first night, it was done after the second night.

Lovely building in its own grounds, great location to some local pubs etc only 10 min walk along a quite road and the steak was simply superb and chips n onion rings to die for
The room was just off a main stair well so was noisy from that and noisy from an external fan of the kitchen which does go off at like 10pm but the room was so hot as windows are on safety locks and I asked for a fan and they couldn't find one( I find this unacceptable a hotel should have a fan for every room available at all times if no air con is in hotel)
