Very cozy! Bjarni and his family are the best hosts ever. They will do anything they can to make you trip the best including turning on the hot tub in a blizzard and entertaining you with stories!
When the weather was challenging and everything was closed due to storm and Easter holiday, Bjarni still will make it a comfortable as possible.

Host was very friendly and welcoming. the little cottages are quite cozy and are warm even if it’s cold outside. Hot tub and sauna are definitely a big plus ( particularly because the host allowed us to use it all day/night) as well as a well equipped kitchen (very good pan). everything was clean.
no shower except outdoors next to the hot tub (it was -3 to -6 degrees during our stay). The host told us we could also use the showers in the hostel down the road though (we went to the hot tub and the swimming pool in Hofsos on one of our days there so we did not need it). If you’re staying longer in winter this reduces the comfort a bit I reckon.
There is only light from the main lamp in the room, no additional lamps next to the bed or so.
cold air comes in through the toilet, so try to keep the door shut.
the cottages are next to the main road and a petrol station which is not super noisy but maybe not what you might expect (although it is clear from the map). not a big issue (no one to blame here) for a few nights though.
in our cottage (the one next to the main road) you can here the water recycling system in the hot tub quite a bit which runs all night. we could still sleep without issues but might be an issue for some people. When we asked the host, he was very friendly and turned it off in the evening, so just ask if it’s too noisy.

Staying at Vegamot Cottage was unforgettable experience. The owner - Bjorni is such a nic guy, who gave us more than accomodation - many recommendations, map with attractions, road tips made by him and so on. In case of cottage... there is nothing what we consider as a bad experience.
Next the cottage is also hot tube, sauna, nature shower with geothermal water with constant 40degrees. Everything is including.
Dalvik is such a beautiful harbor city, where I would like to move and stay there for rest of my life :-D
Everything was perfect! :)

The owner is a very nice person, he made question of being present in both times I arrived to the place (before and after going to Grímsey). A nice and clean little cottage in a quiet and green area of Dalik. Very near to the harbour where we can take the ferry to Grímsey. As in the first night I asked if I could put the two individual beds together, when I arrived for the second night, they were already together :) It's great that we can park the car right next to the cottage.
The only negative thing I can mention is the lack of a shower inside the cottage, but, as my two stays were only of one night, that was not a drama. But the space is enough to put a shower there, making the bathroom a little larger :)

Our hosts were awesome. Loved the furnishings and bed linens. A unique experience, not a cookie cutter room.
The bathroom could have been a touch larger. A microwave & jets in the hot tub would have been appreciated.

One fantastic thing is the house. However when you add to the house how helpful, nice and caring is the owner - you get the overall marvellous picture of the place. The owner of the place took care of everything during our stay, explained not only things related to our accommodation, but also explained how things work in Iceland. We had a chance to discuss many things and got to know first-hand experience of Iceland. We also loved the fish soup and the bread baked by our hosts, served in their restaurant - it was delicious! Hats off to your wife, Bjarni! You need to consider to start the local bakery business ;) Thanks for everything, take care and... till the next time :)
Can't think of anything :)

After booking (just short for staying) I had a very friendly contact by phone with the owner, who explained everything, about the hot tub, sauna and cabin. It’s a comfy cabin, just a short walk from the harbor. I would definitely go back.

This stay was so nice, the houses are so cute even though they are small.
We rented 2 small houses and the large one and almost had the whole place to our self.
The hot tub and sauna were a nice addition.
The host was incredible, so accommodating and welcoming.
Thank you for a lovely stay
