The space was amazing, filled with art, tile work, etc. Ahmed and Haithem were both very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I was particularly amazed by the outdoor rooftop spaces and views of Tangier. A great place to relax and soak it all in after our journey.
The exact location was sent to me but my phone wasn’t reading it correctly and was directing me somewhere else. This wasn’t the property’s fault at all but would advise people to make sure they are clear on directions before arriving, at least if taking the ferry. Once I got closer to the hotel my app corrected itself and showed the location correctly but this was after an hour of walking in circles and being told certain streets were closed and then accidentally getting absorbed by a “guide”.

I loved the authenticity, being in the old Medina and the accomodation was just wonderfull. What an Arabian night !
The view on the balcony was marvelous as well .
Our host was super friendly and helpful and the hospitality was just perfect. No more no less .
I would definately recommand and go back myself . 10-star review !
Only 2 comments I can give was : we didnt like the naked art in the room 😅 and the light sensor was too sensitive, whenever you were near the exit door , the light clicked on . And that was unwillingly too often because the bathroom door and seating area is near the exit of the room.

Location is great in the Kasba in small narrow street.
The house is nice and room was comfy. The roof top has great views over the city although there is no shade.

Perfect location at the edge of Medina, interesting artsy interior designed with great taste, amazing view from terrace and Haitham from the reception was the most helpful and kind. This place exceeded all our expectactions, highly recommended 😊

the Riad is full of gorgeous artwork and other fine pieces, it’s like discovering a whole magical world behind the bright blue front door. the rooftop is just breathtaking and has to be experienced at dawn, with the calling to prayer in the background… the staff was nothing short of delightful and went out of their way to help in every which way. and the bed is super comfy! thanks for a perfect stay!!!
dim lighting, inevitably impossible for Glovo to find lol

Beautiful house filled with great art by the owner himself (who’s an artist). Located in the heart of the kasbah, with the loveliest alleys and corners in Tangier. The highlight is the gorgeous rooftop with one of the best views in Tangier. What’s great is that you can actually lounge (with comfortable cushions, and not just seats). The staff, especially Haitham, were the best. I asked if they can help arrange a surprise birthday dinner for my boyfriend up on the rooftop, and they delivered. The dinner prepared by the housekeeper and Haitham was delicious!
Super minor but Some updating up on the rooftop would make it even better. Like old wood of the pergola and rusty items. Having a light/lamps up there would make it more magical too.

Bab El Fen is conveniently located close to parking so we didn't have to drag our luggage too far through the medina. It is in a quieter part of the town and there were some restaurants close by. Great views from the top floor terrace. Haithan, the young man that was looking after Bab El Fen while we there was very polite and helpful and I can't speak highly enough of him.
The Junior suite that we booked looked nothing like the images that are shown on Booking.com. We were told that the suite we had booked had been given to another customer. However we were able to negotiate a discount. The furnishings were not like the modern furnishing in the images on Bookings.com. Some lights didn't work properly and the motion sensor light for the stairs was hyper sensitive had the annoying ability to see around corners.

Haitam was the young gentleman at the reception. He called us before we arrived and he was there to check us in. He was very kind and professional. He walked us to our room and was there if we needed anything. He made us a great tea kettle at night and we sat in the terrace which has a wonderful view of the city. The owner is an artist and the facility has paintings everywhere which gives the facility a unique charm.
If I had to say something it would be one thing; the facility could have more toiletries available on the bathroom but this is a small detail.

great location, the staff was very nice and helpful. Hetam took care of every need and was very good to us. we really appreciated his efforts.
it is an old building, so it is quite noisy during a windstorm, which we had all night. maybe they can put a white noise machine or tighten the old doors and windows, it is a really nice location and beautiful house.

The communication with the host was super easy via Whatsapp. He reached out himself days ahead.
Not much room for siutcase in room.

great location, great food, ambience, the staff was very friendly and caring. Hetam was outstanding! he catered to everyone of us with extreme care.
the noise levels from the street and the wind rattling objects throughout the night, we couldn’t sleep at all. unfortunately they can’t control these things, my recommendation is it to put in fans or white noise machines in the rooms.

The view and location are exceptional, the room was comfortable and the staff was lovely (especially Haitham! keep up the good work). The breakfast was amazing!!
The light in the bathroom was a bit too low and the door got stuck a bit.

A small very nice hotel. Location great, close to the medina and only 10 minutes walk from grand socco square. The hotel is located in a small alley in a beautiful maze of white plastered houses and blue doors, it's like stepping into a movie scene! In the hotel every wall is filled with art, the room is cosy and the roof terrace is amazing. It's very clean and the hospitaly wonderful.
After booking I received a text to welcome me, I really like that. The young host Haytam is as friendly in person. He speaks great English, is extremely helpful and makes you feel right at home.

Bab el Fen was not clean, there was dust everywhere, dirty carpets and stained sheets. it needs renovations also: the windows don't close and it was so cold, the water heater barely works, not to mention the NON-EXISTING sound insulation. Too bad because the riad has a lot of assets to be great.

Wonderfull place, nice atmosphere with all the art and arabic details. Lovely roofterras with amazing views and as a bonus a livingroom on the roof. Location is excellent in the kasbah (part of medina), and not difficult to find because it is close to an entrancegate. Haitham, our host, made us feel very welcome, we slept in queensize bed in lovely spacious room. It was very quiet at night.
We enjoyed the whole stay.

This unique and authentic place is truly memorable! The young man who greeted us upon arrival was very helpful and thoughtful and spoke surprisingly good english (compared to some other people we met in Tangiers). We had book a Junior suite, which in all quirkyness was an experience! Windows opening up to the lobby, inside the property; shower tucked on the back of a cave-like rock wall... The roof terrace has amazing views over the old town and the harbour and the breakfast we had up there was stunning. We were so amazed by the amount of the food and drinks the young man brought to table that we had to ask, if it really was just for the two of us. "This is the smallest possible moroccon breakfast" he replied. 😁 Even though the hotel seemed to be quite fully booked we didn't really see or meet other guests so it felt private and peaceful.
All of the windows that opened up to the lobby, inside the building, could not be shut properly, so we kind of felt like being in the same space as the public area of the hotel. It felt like everyhting we said or did could be heard from the lobby. No tv in the room, WiFi didn't work (except on the roof), no safety box, no fridge, no A/C (just a fan). This hotel is extremely hard to find if you approach from the old town hussle and buzzle. I have never ever been in a place that is such a maze!! A tip I would give to people searching for this hotel is to enter from a harbour side stairs along the city wall, get close to the Kasbah museum and once you get there check a map or ask someone. Otherwise you might end up searching and walking and getting lost for hours!

We loved everything about the place. Haytam was so genuinely helpful it made everything perfect. The location is wonderful close to all main attractions & the view from terrace is incredible. There's just so many nice things to say about Bab El Fen.

It's in the heart of old medina. I loved how close it is to museums
Security. The locks in rooms should be changed. They are outdated and fragile.

All staff was incredibly welcoming and always trying to help with whatever they could. Haytam was an amazing host; he called taxis for us, gave us info, reccommended places and handed us everything we needed for us to have a good stay at the hotel and Tangier in general. There are beautiful and meaningfull works of art at this accommodation, and some worked on by the owner, who is very nice and interesting person as welll! The terrace is the best part... very worth it!
We love natural sunlight however some of the rooms don't have direct natural light in them unfortunately. The good thing about that is that it was very hot outside and ended up restricting the heat from coming in as much so we slept in a good temperature.

This is a true gem in Tangier. Amazing and very accommodating and friendly staff and owner.
Staying here made us feel like we were the luckiest people around with the best view of the city. Great location to walk from and explore the old Medina. We will definitely book this property on our next trip here and we already recommended it to our friends and they share our sentiments about this place.

Location and breakfast were great. View from terrace is outstanding.
The photos look much better than reality. Our rooms were uncomfortably small, and the only way to keep warm was to huddle in the bed with the small heater turned on. The glassed in terrace is not heated, and windows and doors did not shut properly, serious repairs are needed to make this space comfortable in the winter season. Doors and windows banging in the wind made sleeping difficult. This place might be OK in summer, but I would not recommend it in winter, and would not stay again myself. Bathroom drains smelled bad depending on the wind. Would not take a credit card.

The staff were friendly people, there you feel like home. Besides, you can enjoy an impressing breakfast in front of a beautiful view of the sea. To finish, if you look for a quiet place to rest and relax, I'm sure that you won't find a better choice
