Staff are the hotel's greatest asset. Everyone was helpful and pleasant, keen to get things right for guests. We had dinner for the first night and again on our third night. The food was very good with a menu that was varied. We enjoyed the breakfasts as well.
Our room looked lovely and the bed was comfortable. There is clearly an ongoing problem with drainage in the bathroom (I saw comments on a previous review) and when we reported it a member of staff dealt with it promptly. The weather was very hot and, the ventilation was poor. The air conditioning comes on automatically at some point but there is no way of switching it on in the room, though there is a fan provided which gives a little relief. There are French windows and a balconette but the doors are sealed. I can see that this is a safety issue but better ventilation would make guest more comfortable.

Lovely location, gorgeous sunny beer garden, nice food, fabulous cocktails
The bed wasn’t very comfortable

As we were staying in the shepherd hut next to the pub which happen to have a hot tub we tried this before going for an evening meal. The water was lovely and warm. Could not fault the evening meal or the service.
The breakfast the following morning was again faultless very nice and tasty.
We will definitely return

Warm welcome arriving for check in. Cosy pub atmosphere. Friendly staff and easy check in.
Nothing really! No parking on site but there is a free car park 3 mins walk away, so quickly dropped our things and used the car park up the road.

Beautifully decorated. Warm and cosy.

The staff were very welcoming from the moment we arrived. We came for our mini moon and stayed in The Tweed room with the added bonus of a hot tub and outside space which was great. We were kindly gifted a bottle of prosecco which was a nice added touch. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and the meal we had there was lovely. Would highly recommend.
The mattress was quite hard.

1. Food was good, albeit somewhat pricey. Paper napkins should be replaced by linen ones for these prices!
2. There was no separate lounge area for guests/residents to relax in when not eating, as the whole building was set out as a restaurant.
3. Bed was comfortable
4. Staff were pleasant and helpful, although we had no idea who the Manager or Supervisory staff were. We were not greeted by Managerial staff. Nor were they about when we checked out. I would have thought that someone would have made the effort. At £874.50 for 3 nights (B & B) we did not feel this Inn/Pub/Restaurant was worthy of being given a 5☆ rating
THE ROOM (The Coquet - in the annexe cottage).
1. There was no wardrobe - just a cupboard with the middle 1/3 section dominated by the personal safe. Therefore, all our clothes could not be hung apart from a couple of dresses and we had to hang most of them on the ironing board, stood up against it on the outside.
2. There were no drawers to put our clothes in, just two tiny drawers beneath the dressing table.
3. The fridge was switched on but was useless, working at almost room temperature.
THE BATHROOM
1 The toilet was cramped and too close to the shower screen, making using it difficult, especially for guests with mobility issues.
2. The shower was dirty with mildew between the wall tiles/shower screen and the stone base. After complaining, attempts were made to rectify this problem, but only by 50%. Staff said it would be re-grouted once we had left.
3. Overall the bathroom was too small for comfort.

Beautiful room and location. The restaurant was just next door which served delicious food. Everyone was so friendly.
We had to wait to go in the hot tub as it was so hot. I was told when i checked in to keep the hot tub lid off an hour before getting in. This was an hour therefore lost.

Good beer.
Clean
Room in attic was a little cramped

Meals were all good however limited choice.
Not enough hanging space in rooms plus too much clutter on only surface.

Gorgeous rooms.
steep staircases and narrow steps , especially hard for an elderly lady and Husband with a sore leg.

Room was nice & big, food was v good, lovely location
Pillows could have been a lot better, a mini fridge in the room would have been nice with a bottle of water ect.
Apart from that all good

The staff went above and beyond when I had an accident. Alex would be perfect neighbour who helped make a bad situation much better.
The breakfast selection was excellence, catering for all tastes. And the evening menu was top notch. Best shower ever with lovely toiletries provided.
No pub parking but a free public one very close by.

great location, lovely atmosphere. on arrival the manager was very welcoming and attentive. the rooms are very unique. the beds were comfortable and the linen and towels good quality. the breakfast was very good and the restaurant food was okay.
the service in the restaurant in the evening was very average waiting for long lengths of time for courses and then getting the bill paid. Had to ask for the table to be cleaned and the crevasses in the wooden tables need a thorough deep clean.

A warm welcome, friendly service and good locally sourced food awaits at The Joiners.
I didnt stay long enough which was a bit disappointing as its a beautiful part of Northumberland.
4.1
nice location near a beach, nice decoration and good size room.
room was freezing on arrival and took an age to heat up but it was very cold outside on that day.
4.1
Beautiful and quirky room. Beautiful design equipped with everything we needed. We had a fabulous evening meal and tasty breakfast. A mix up with the evening meal order was quickly remedied by the attentive staff and the quality of food was excellent.
It was noisy early morning due to a noisy delivery driver on site not hotel staff.
4.1
The vibe & the good is fantastic.
The only downside is the lack of onsite parking which I would expect for a 5 star accommodation. but there is parking quite nearby.

I think we may have travelled at a bad time .. the place was absolutely freezing with nothing acceptable to warm it
too small .. didn’t lock.. too cold.. tv didn’t work

room was lovely and clean and the breakfast was excellent
we were at a wedding at nearby newton hall and asked for early checkin so we could get ready. we’re told in no uncertain terms that it’s wasn’t going to happen and did t really offer any alternative to help us.
our bed was broke when we got into room we complained and they gave us 20% off our NEXT stay!!
4.1
dinner was delicious and room was lovely
Couldn't get a cappuccino for breakfast...only offered filtered coffee which after having on the first morning didn't like . Was refused a cappuccino despite machine on and being used to fill hot water into filtered coffee. disappointing breakfast service.
4.1
Water was not very hot on the evening when we arrived and took a little while for staff to rectify
