Even though this hostel is not located in the city center, I would absolutely stay there again. This is definitely a place where you feel guests' comfort was considered: there's a lot of places to hang out, the beds are comfortable and have blinds to cut the light from outside, the bathrooms and the kitchen are super big and well equipped! The AC works in the bedrooms during the night.
The cherry on the cake was that the breakfast was quite generous in amount and diverse (and plus there's two types you can choose from).
There's plenty of information on tours in the area, and the staff is very nice and willing to help you with your doubts.
The pool is veeeeeery small (no problem but for people to know).
There's no warm shower.

The bathroom is huge, breakfast is amazing (quite a lot of fruit), the personnel is very nice and helpful, there is a possibility to leave your stuff, and they give you filtered water for free.
There are not lockers in the room, but it felt quite safe just to leave the things as it is. though the lockers would be great addition. Also, it is a bit far from the centre (20 min walk that in the heat of Santa Marta seems quite a lot).

The people who work on reception are fantastic, I don't speak Spanish but they all speak a number of languages, it made communication easy, The facilities are exactly as described, the kitchen has everything you need & more, there's a fridge so I can store food 🥑🍍🍗, it's a hostel but the pot and pans are in great condition, not at all what I'm used too in a hostels, the blender is perfect for making fresh juices daily and the breakfast( cooked by Jolee)is perfect to start the day, the kitchen and pool are cleaned daily, so is everything else, bed, shower room ect: A young man walks by and sells fresh fruit daily for a reasonable price, D1 sells pineapples🍍 for 4mil and he changes 5 and they are never rotten, unlike the D1 store located about 5mins walk to the left of the hostel and the beach is too the right and it's 10min walk but a motor taxi is only 5miln and a taxi is 7mil(minimum fare)
the hostel is between the beach police station and a big local police station to the left, so it's super safe, police patrol the area constantly. Ocean mall is 15min walk just past McDonald's and they have everything you need but very expensive.. it's all good I ended up staying for 21days instead of 3... I would highly recommend..
The little man who works nights is a bit weird, nothing dangerous, just a little creep if your in a single room, you might hear him outside your door being nosy a few times a night, but only in the single rooms, the dorms are good and quiet with no bother at all.

Had a lovely stay La Guaca, its a nice quiet hostel with nice clean rooms. The wifi is good and so is the breakfast :)
You can also store your bags there for free if you do any of the multi-day tours.
We felt safe in the hostel, and you are about a 20/25 min walk from the old town and promenade.

The room was spacious. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was large.
The bathroom was a little dirty, the cold shower wasn't great and the milk serves at breakfast was off.

The staff is super friendly, you can leave your luggage in the storage room if you are doing the lost city hike, includes a breakfast, rooms were small but fine and with airco
Walls are a bit thin so you can easily hear other guests

In general was ok but not outstanding.
Private room was very noisy, you could even listen people snoring was awful. Staff has always a bad attitude and way of replying, seems like theyre not enjoying what they do. At the end they always ask you to mention their names on the comments cause they get comission, this should stop is very uncomfortable and pushy towards customers and not honest and genuine. The location was far from everything and when i walked felt a bit scary. There is no ambiance in the hostel so I would suggest you to book Viajero or the others closer to the city centre!

Everything was great about this place.

the perfect place. I booked before and after my lost city hike. the staff is SO NICE and SO helpful. they let me store my luggage. there is a lot of common space that I don’t think is accurately represented on booking. full kitchen and big fridge. breakfast is great too. it’s about 15 min walk to downtown. and honestly I’m glad I stayed here because downtown was too chaotic. there is a bit of street noise but honestly if you’re used to it not bad.
nothing

Private room was big and clean. Airconditioning worked. Beds are comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful
No hot showers, but it's normal in the area I think. Breakfast is too early, between 7.30 and 9

Thank you @La Guaca for a nice stay feat. a spacious room, very good Wi-Fi, a nice breakfast prepared fresh every morning and a big kitchen for own cooking.
There are many spaces in this lovely building to sit, work, relax, cool down in the pool, eat, drink, watch a movie.
There is not much of a vibe or a personal connection. I‘ve been to many hostels where owners / receptionists take great interest in their guests, activities or simply just asking ‚how are you today?‘ .. Would be nicer and less anonymous.

The best value hostel I've stayed at! Large and spacious all round, great self catering kitchen, comfortable beds, and includes a delicious FREE breakfast that actually fills you up! Can organise many excursions from here too. Air con in the dorms. Would highly recommend.
I think because it is a 10-15 minute walk out of the centre it misses the backpacker crowd, so it was very quiet, which is a shame because it it such a good hostel! More lighting in the rooms would be great. There were a couple of dead cockroaches in the dorm bathroom that were not removed even when the bathroom bins were emptied which makes me question cleanliness... Awesome to have a water filtering system free to use but the water had a weird taste, like mold, so I filtered my own water.

It was very clean and the area is very calm. It is not in the centre but I personally prefer that and the walk is not super far. Everything is very clean and the wifi connection is very good. The employees are super friendly and helpful too.
Honestly there is not much to complain about. I mean I wish there were less mosquitos around but that is certainly not the fault of the hostel and not much they can do about that.

Very nice staff!! especially Maria Jose who helped us during our stay was exceptional! she was always available for us and happy to help! The breakfast ladies are also very nice and make delicious fluffy scrambled eggs :)
location is great too! quiet yet close enough to the centre and all the action!
lack of bathrooms. only 1 toilet and 1 shower upstairs and downstairs only.

All of the staff we encountered in this hostel were super helpful at giving recommendations for tours and restaurants, and the rooms had a good size (especially given the price). Breakfast was included and it was really good 👌 they are also happy with you leaving your big bags in a storage room (which felt secure) and valuables in padlock lockers while we did the Lost City Trek (which we also recommend doing) so that was very helpful.
It was a bit of a walk from the main town.
