Room very spacious and clean
Indian guests next toy room got connecting room to their family and they shouting in corridor to each other. Aircon too cold and unable to adjust (useless remote). Chicken curry only soup and no others (no chicken etc in it)

The hotel was clean
The staff were very rude and focused on talking to each other instead of customer service

Spacious room with balcony view of the pool. Good food in the restaurant and a nice variety for breakfast. Prompt cleaning crew each day for room cleaning. Lots of local warungs to eat.
Around 30 minutes in taxi to airport
Not a major issue, but the hotel is around a 20-25 minute walk to Legian or Kuta beach. So be prepared to take a taxi or grab if that is too far for you to walk.

I stayed at a 5 star hotel for a couple of nights, and the next night I stayed at Grand Zuri. I think the Grand Zuri is so much better value, and I wish I stayed there instead. It doesn't have a steam room or sauna but the bed is comfy and the bathroom is modern and clean. The pool was great, and the staff were lovely.
I would love access to a freshwater tank to cut back on plastic water bottles

For $78 a night, it's one of those cheapies that you may consider for a night pre or post flight departure. The value is reasonable considering the location (was about a 30 min drive from the airport which is always traffic dependant in Bali- I arrived at 2200).
I did have an excellent 90 minute massage from the in house spa, which was good value seemingly (IDR 30k) and the therapist was experienced.
Staff were not up to the usual standard I would expect in Bali. The Balinese are in general, very warm and tolerant people. What I think missing here is there seemed to be a lack of the warm smiles I'm accustomed to see. Some where there but in other Balinese hotels you are blown away by the genuine warmth.
Interactions which were more annoying waiting by the egg station for 5 minutes awaiting to be served (I was being polite given my lack of Balinese or Bahasa) but even though I was seeking body language connection with the staff, they scurried away continually looking down or on their task and plainly ignored me. In those times especially after a rough night's sleep you start to churn, saying, I'm the guest here, can I at least be acknowledged considering I'm right in front of the egg station seeking connection so I can order a bloody egg! Am I invisable or seemingly unworthy???
The other interaction was with the reception. I had preorgassed road transport booked directly wirh the hotel for 1200 but the hotel reception had absolutely no idea about it. 5 mins later whilst they stare at their PC screens with no retort, you start to get a little frustrated, so I brought out the Booking.com log chat to show them and like magic they acknowledge it like nothing happened but then go back to clueless. I know dealing with a varied clientele is hard with accents and many languages but the source of connection is communicatipn, and if they took the time to do so the interaction would have been so much more productive for both of us, I would have been more considerate with any confusion and we could have sorted the issue together. Again, I reflect the staff iguest nteraction is on the poor side. It doesn't take much to connect with people on a human level and to do so enhances everyones interactions within the hotel.

In general, staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The rooms were clean. The hotel is on the busy streets but in good location.
Food selections were more for local tourists. They do have some westerns food choices but limited. Foods in general taste decent and staff were kind and very helpful.
