We stayed in room 3 a little dated but ok for a couple of nights

If I have to find an answer to this - some of the bedroom furniture was ‘tired’.

Great food and a very warm welcome , nothing was too much trouble

Staff welcoming. Beds comfy.. Food good. Place was clean and cosy
4.1
Friendly, comfortable, and good menu for lunch/evening meal, do not have to go out looking for restaurants etc
The radiator in the bathroom did not work, it was broken, I think this should have been checked before letting, as a very cold day, too and it was not busy, but did try to repair but needed a plumber, hence bought us another cover for bed, very obliging.

Breakfast excellent, Evening meal in restaurant very good - a different and quirky menu - I had a really nice meal which was good value. Attentive service. Staff charming. I think they are from Nepal - very pleasant - hope it goes well for them.
It was all fine.

Lovely oldy-worldy Inn, great surrounds, good beer, friendly staff, and the best Nepalese food we've ever had from the restaurant. Highly recommended, will definitely revisit. Within easy reach of London Heathrow.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was nice.
Sunday lunch was average. We booked our stay to include dinner. It would have been good to have been told on booking that dinner was £20 per person . This only afforded a main course.
4.1
food was excellent especially the dinner of curry. There was a varied menu for dining and all the staff were friendly and especially welcoming tothe dogs.
Our room was very nice but could do with a little updating.

A nice country pub, with some comfortable lodging. Cottage was clean and well equipped, and Full English breakfast a great addition.

Staff very helpfull, lovely location, we had the white house (superior cottage room) which is seperate from the public house in the car park, which was very well equiped (although didnt detail that when booking) with fridge washing machine cooker microwave, dining table, none of which we used as we only stayed for 1 night
Wifi is poor in this apartment so investing in wifi extender by the owners would help, matress was a bit tired. Beds (double plus single) are upstairs where the ceiling height is low in places.

The room was a good size and comfortable. Access to the room was easy, although by stairs only. The staff were good and the choice of food in the restaurant was excellent, both English and Nepaulise.
The only down side, which is somewhat irrelevent was the size of the TV in our room, my iPad was almost the same size :-)

The food was excellent, especially the Nepalese curry. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet at night.
The bar is small but the garden is lovely and good to sit in when it wasn't raining. Nothing really to complain about!

Breakfast was excellent and kitchen stayed open after 9pm to provide a mesl
Location was perfevt

Quirky cottage but very comfortable. Very quiet location, some noise from the pub with people sat in the beer garden. Breakfast was included and very tasty and cooked fresh. Had dinner in the pub in the evening and again very good and plenty of food. Right next door to sports field for early morning dog walk, lovely walk upto the church and millennium beacon.
Bathroom was a bit tired, but very clean. A very tiny telly, being there only one night not a problem but maybe for a longer stay. Stairs up to bedroom are very narrow and maybe an issues for less mobile.

Really friendly, helpful staff - very keen to please. Lovely quiet, rural location. Comfortable, spacious room. Quality of food and service at breakfast was great. Excellent value - would happily return for a longer stay.
Rather limited choice/disorganised breakfast - too little easily available, so we seemed to have to ask for everything. Nothing else.

The Compasses is a lovely quiet location. When we arrived it was a lovely warm sunny evening and we sat outside with our dog having a drink watching the sun go down. The pub was full of character and characters, we had a lovely conversation with one of the locals. The food was very good value and the breakfast was of an excellent standard.
We arrived on the thursday of the Easter Weekend, breaking the journey before travelling to Kent for Easter. The ouside of the pub could do with a little tidy up, their were large chalk boards out still advertising Mothering Sunday and St Patricks day events which had been weeks ago. Also a few dirty ash trays on tables, just those small attention to detail things.

The Compasses is in a great location and everyone working there is lovely 🙂 the food was very tasty from the breakfast to the dinner menu and desserts 👌🏻 the room was spacious and comfy and the shower especially was very nice!

Friendly staff and a huge walk in powerful shower
We stayed Sunday evening and the restaurant wasn't open. We weren't told about this when booking. This was the whole point of staying at a pub, so we had to travel to find another pub that was open, and by then all tables were booked so we had to eat out side. The third bed wasn't made up in advance, and the continental breakfast choice was poor. There were no wholewheat cereals or porridge on offer, but the cooked breakfast was very good, although this wouldn't have been my choice.

All good
Less noise - but then it is a pub and thus only to be expected

Only thing I would say is that if you want to eat in the restaurant either email or phone them don't use their website booking form as it takes a while to get through to them.
